I gave the 39mm because small but the pano date was incroyable
when i think about a lot of luxury brands not being transparent about in house it is super inspiring to see Glashutte in this video. Makes me want a PanoMatic Lunar even more!
Everytime I see videos of watchmakers assembling parts by hand obviously being sold as how they always manufacture, I always get immediately suspicious. These people actually live up to that standard.
I’ve always thought Glashutte Original watches looked stunning but seeing behind closed doors, the craftsmanship and quality imbued, makes them so much more special.

Simply the best brand in the price segment. It is the only brand at this price point that truly deliver on haut horologie. Just imagine what other brands would charge for the hand-engraved ballance bridge with the dual swan regulator. 10K€ is truly a bargain from this standpoint.

The rotor assembly can be automated, but it is impressive that labor protection and maybe even company vision can keep those jobs around. There is something special about having something made directly with human hands.
I love the look of the first balance bridge. Less is more sometimes.
As an engineer who works in manufacturing, this video was my favorite. I love learning how these watchmakers make these amazing machines and I admire their dedication to manufacturing perfection.

I wish other companies would use larger date windows with their watches. If anything, I think they actually improve the aesthetics of a watch.

This video was awesome. I'm a mechanical engineer and seeing German engineering meet artistry in a village dedicated to watchmaking is the epitome of wonderful mechanical nerdiness. Thanks for taking us there Teddy and crew! Also, never given OG much thought until this... Now I want a Sea Q!
If you want to travel again in Germany, there's a second watchmaking capital in Germany in Pforzheim. More specialized in pilot watches it seems. With brands like Laco, Stowa, the Ickler family's watches (Archimede, Limes, Defakto, Altran & Viala) and Aristo. And Junghans and Hanhart are in the same region. Kienzle (which was well known before being bought by China) used to be in the region as well. But OK, Glasshütte is definitely number 1 in Germany, especially since the fall of the Iron Curtain.
The amount of testing for each watch truly is remarkable. Well said, Teddy.
I have always had a deep appreciation for anything that is finely crafted. Be it a watch, a painting, or a piece of furniture. The men and women who make exquisite pieces are truly artists in their respective fields and their love of precision craftsmanship is unsurpassed. Many things to say. First, a big thank you to Teddy and his crew for taking on a truly magic trip. Glashütte is, IMHO, watchmaking at the very best. Interestingly enough, at different price points as well, if you take Nomos and A. Lange into account as well. Awesome!
Vostok, Christopher ward, Nomos, glasshute original, Breguet, and armin Strom are different tiers of watch making that are underrated for finishing in their price point.

I hope more brands partner with you in this regard. Thank you for producing some of the absolute finest content for the watch enthusiast community.
I’ve never felt that Glashutte is an overlooked brand.You often see them,but owners aren’t like Rolex owners that will try and show off with what’s in their wrist.
Rolex has always SPECIFICALLY represented the pinnacle of sports watch potential. A sports watch brand today will always benefit from learning from Rolex because they're the only brand that started from sports and tool watches and made them luxury. But that's it for them. Leave high horolgy to other Swiss trinity members, Glashutte (Lange, GO), or GS in Japan, then the British indies (roger smith, daniels, etc) and finally swiss indies (journe, rexhep, etc)
edit: the rolex 1908 debut from W&W this year is the exception - it is up to the brand whether they can properly expand that design style to incorporate good grand complication. Otherwise, it's just a bad stab.
Overlooked by people who don't know watches. I wear a Rolex, but have a ton of respect for Glashutte
Also. It's OK to appreciate watches without the need for criticising Rolex or their owners.

I had no idea that Glashutte Original is tested to such a level and so much care put into their pieces. They are owned by the Swatch group but this is a completely different level. 😊
GO is in a unique position given that they are in Germany and specifically Glashütte. In order to put Glashütte on the watch a brand must meet the Glashütte standard that calls for 50% of the watch to be manufactured in the small town (GO hits nearly double that). I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and independence around GO as a result of this during my visit.
@@TeddyBaldassarre GO is definitely on my bucket list of watches. I also really like what NOMOS has been doing another brand I consider above more of the mainstream brands like Longines, Oris and even Omega in some regards. When you produce videos like this one begins to understand why some brands command more $$$. Love your channel Teddy, thank you!

The close ups and the lighting of this video are simply spectacular. We have seen quite some documentaries of visits to watch factories but this is hard to beat.

Phänomenal... Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass sich GO so sehr abhebt mit seinen Standards und dem Grad der Eigenfertigung. Hoffe diese Marke und Art der Fertigung bleibt uns lange erhalten. Eine der Uhren ist nun mein Ziel für die Uhrensammlung, auch wenn es noch dauert.

This is worth everything to me - absolutely amazing peek into a world I dream about so vividly - Teddy I am living the dream through you - never stop this series I want to see the range from Glashütte to Casio I want to see Teddy inside every brand - Glashütte is so top tier this is a great peek into that world and the showcase you give these types of brands is so needed for a younger audience to understand and appreciate the craftsmanship and heritage these brands carry - Germany is a major player and has since forever been a guardian for the word "quality and precision" - truly displays a glimpse of what Germany quality means and why it is close to unbeatable - This was a breathtaking tour of some of the key elements that gives Glashütte the edge that They have!

I have owned a G.O. Senator Moon Phase Power Reserve (39-44-03-11-04) for over 15 years and it still pleases me with its extremely fine craftsmanship and timeless design. What a terrific dress watch!

I'm a toolmaker/engineer of several decades of experience. So when I see the guys drilling 0.2 holes on the lathe I'm respectful...But also I know that I could also easily do this job. However watching the guys engraving is something like a dark art to me. How they produce perfectly machined/engraved tiny components by hand...with a chisel, under a microscope, is completely beyond my understanding. Full respect to these super talented people

I love these visits to watch manufacturers. Newly learned today: A tiny screw calibrates the timing of the balance spring and hence the accuracy of the watch!
