I've rebuilt my T engine but it was not as rough as that for sure, it was running. Nice job, hope it works out. Mine has the original cast iron pistons in it. They are fun and interesting cars.
You can soak that baby in a vat of apple cider vinegar and water 40/60 for a few days and it will be totally rust free. I've been cleaning tools and engine parts for years with it. Then neutralize the acid with alkaline water/ baking soda, then power wash and wire brush to a fine clean finish. 👌👍
That was really fascinating just seeing how different things were done back then. I couldn't tell but when you showed the crank journals on the block did they have a bearing in there?
Yes, that really thin grey stuff (the chewed up stuff) is the original main bearings. It's poured babbitt, rather than insert bearings. It'll get melted out and re-poured.. if the block is otherwise salvageable.
@@nathan.kostelecky I thought thats what you said but the idea of how that works is so foreign to me with my limited experience to newer stuff. Super cool

When you got the last transmission bold out and started to take it off the crank I thought...."That's gonna fall." Nice work.

Why not start push a pressure washer
What are those oempistons, cast iron?
they don't look aluminum, the aluminum set will let it spin faster, and they look like high compression.
Shit run it 40 over it is!!
