Really what is the point of Green Lantern? Every time he comes up against an enemy it appears that they can break out of/destroy his constructs rather easily

The Green Lantern constructs are given more credit by the writers in Green Lantern comics. Along with choice comics. Like the Godzilla versus The Justice League comics.

To understand the power of a hero you have to see his gallery of enemies, only Imperiex is more powerful than Galactus, Darkseid is what Thanos would like to become, Brainiac is an evolved Ultron, Doomsday is Hulk but not with a temporary power in relation to anger , he is a Hulk who when he evolves he does so definitively, the power and not only that, even the qualities of a hero who faces all this must necessarily be paramount

(we get to kill or beat up Superman 5 times each year).This started at DC in NYC 25 years ago and moving DC to Calif has made it worse. Someone said in the comments that the appearance of this character is reminiscent of the first Doomsday story. True. And I'll say more, it seems like they used the same sketches to draw this guy. It's as if it were the same "actor" with a different costume. They put the little guy on his shoulder just to have something different in the story.

This actually turned out to be a brilliant idea and Superman's sales went high again.

Depends on the version. He’d probably murder Grey Hulk or Ultimate Hulk. Savage Hulk is a different story.
