Namors badass when written correctly
Every single character in comics is bad ads when writers want them to be.
My unit is massive.
Is consistent with past feats too much to ask for.
NAMOR has thrown hands with the Hulk for farting in his presence. He regularly talks smack to Dr. Doom, Black Panther to their faces then sends hit teams to their countries afterwards to prove a point. Sends sea kaiju to attack the surface world every other month after someone pees in the ocean. Does NOT hesitate to repeatedly, single-handily take on the entire Fantastic Four all at once, while macking on Sue In front of Mr. Fantastic.
The Chad of Atlantis give absolutely no fucks what anyone on the surface world thinks of how he handles his business.
Until hulk and thor gets serious

How is it that sometimes Namor can go toe to toe with powerhouses, and other times he can't even beat She-Hulk while they're both underwater?
It's those dumbass WRITERS! Sometimes they for whatever reason put themselves in certain situations & try "writing" themselves iut of it or just plain stupidity or both & more! Makes no DAMN sense we know!😒😔

Namor has consistently been portrayed over the years as being able to go toe to toe against the Hulk or the Thing underwater, let alone She-Hulk.
Also, if you are referring to recent years, Marvel writing has gone downhill under Disney. The quality of writing is overall mediocre and, on top of it, they tend to hype some female characters for politically correctness.

I wanna point out that this was Gargan-Venom NOT Brock-Venom. You can tell by him having pupils, how dumb he sounds when he talks, and the fact that he speaks in singular rather than plural. Not that it matters, since Brock wouldn’t have faired any better against a heavy-hitter like Namor. The difference is Brock wouldn’t have been stupid enough to try him in the first place.
Brock would've faired a whole hell of a lot better than Gargan. Brock Venom has taken on and gone toe to toe with the heavy hitters of Marvel like the Hulk and Doom. He's even gone toe to toe with Superman.

Logan has it coming sometimes. Always with the threats and claws first, then "Oops, my bad" later! You would think he would learn something about diplomacy after living over a century.

Wolverine didn't *attack*, he warned (note, not threatened, because that's what Namor was doing by simply being there)... While defending his own castle (his right and prerogative on American soil in his home) to a foreign invader and someone both politically responsible for terror attacks, personally responsible for attacking soldiers the night before and diplomatically lying about his sleeper cells hidden in the states.... The X-Men were being watched constantly by pro-registration mobs of sentinels with a short fuse for resistence, which Logan told Namor his presence would bring cause for the aggression from, on school grounds full of children, which is exactly what happens. Namor endangered kids so he could use Xavier while lying about his position... The only thing he has going for him is that he's lucky none of the sentinels that showed up either fell on the school, blew up the school, or brought more sentinels, and/or shield who/which was in fact at this point employing everyone from Ares, to Sentry to Green Goblin to Gargan for an edge on the field, the arrivial of any of which may have brought cause for an entire mutant vs registration conflict... Which incidentally more or less eventually happened with Utopia... Namor is not the good guy here, and Wolverine isn't in the wrong. This is a basic "get off my porch" moment and then Namor started swinging for the fences on someone who had most recently been working with Namor's own royal guard as an ally, one of which Logan was in love with.
Namor stepping foot on the grounds there is an act against diplomacy.

These new writers they have aren’t really comic readers or don’t know the history of the characters they write on. This is the same issue they have with the movies. Like giving a character an ability or weakness they never had.

The only funny note is that Wolverine compares Namor with Bin Laden as a great threat. It's not like Dr Doom alone makes Osama look like a devout saint.
Namor is a weird character, sometimes he's strong as heck and other times he gets his butt whipped.
Power fluctuations in marvel characters is a real problem. Namor used to be able to stand his ground with the biggest hitters in comics. Thor, Hulk, Hercules etc. But, just look at the abomination that is Wakanda Forever. A ridiculous interpretation of the Sub Mariner beaten by a little girl and a sunlamp. Good grief.

I bought this comic a few years ago. Prince Namor at his best ! I always thought that Namor was Marvel's most Shakespearean character, much more than Thor whose dialogue could be really clunky. This comic is another reason why I could never stand Xavier. Ideological, moralizing, blowhard ! Imperious Rex, my fellow fans of the one and only Submariner !

You put Wolverine in a battle form against Batman, and no matter what happens he just instantly heals and keeps fighting. However you put him in books where his healing factor is normalized, and you can actually put him down and incapacitate him for a moment. It's funny how battle context threads, always over exaggerate the capabilities of the opponents 🫡👑
Wolverine shrugged off several punches from Namor before also relatively instantly bouncing back up from a water amped Namor power slamming him with enough force to crush every organ in his body... Which of Batman's attacks are you comfortable with comparing to Namor who can toe to toe with characters like Hercules and Sentry, and what about this instance was particularly impressive to you considering Logan was fine while talking entire paragraphs of trash in the aftermath?
I never liked Namor. He's still the most arrogant character in all of marvel comics. At least that never changed.

Love everything about this but the stupid suit Namor wears. Worst design choice ever where he's concerned. It's fine for him to wear civvies when he's out in the surface world. But otherwise, green scaly trunks. He's not out to hide who he is.

Logan's also knocked Namor out twice (both times while weakened), killed him in alternate timeline, restrained him in a headlock during a fist fight, outdrew him in a stand off but held back to prove he wasn't a threat, and stalemated him under mind control with Namor admitting he couldn't beat Logan if Logan wasn't anymore than a puppet... Even here, namor needed to run to water for a revive... So Idk what you're talking about concerning who Logan is and isn't in the league of, and I'm pretty sure neither do you.
I mean venom regenerates. He loses his tongue every time someone socks him in the jaw hard enough to snap it shut.
