Don’t underestimate a lash primer they work so well 😀
fr!!! Ever since I discovered the lancôme lash primer I haven’t gone back. My lashes are short but this gives my lashes am length and volume. I use a primer with the l’oréal telescopic or sometimes the maybelline lash sensational
My new favorite is Mega Length Mascara by Wet and Wild - lengthens and adds volume with no clumps. No flaking or smudging. For $4, it is one of the best that I’ve ever used drugstore or high end.

Hi Melissa I have rosacea affecting my eyes and it can cause a LOT of watering in the right eye particularly. Wearing waterproof mascara every day dries my lashes out a lot, so i've tried a ton of mascaras in the last couple of years (including most of the hyped ones available here in Scotland and tubing mascaras). I got fed up and decided to go back to an old favourite and I'm so glad I did - Benefit they're real. It's not waterproof, but it's very water resistant and removes easier than waterproof, isn't too drying and stays on all day with no flaking, smudging or panda eyes in sight. I wore it for years and then got sucked in by all the new mascaras (both drugstore and higher end), but I'm back to they're real and really happy with it. I also have smaller eyes and the thinner wand is so much easier to manouvre that fat or hourglass wands - it's just been a lot easier all round.
From the ones shown here I've tried them all and none of them work for me all that great, although the skiy high is the best of the bunch for me of the ones shown (btw the waterproof essence one smudges more than most non waterproof mascaras on me - it was a disaster lol). It has to be said though that I have very particular issues with my eyes and how mascara reacts to all the watering - tubing mascara comes off with the warm tears from my eyes lol. I'm probably harder on a mascara than most people due to how irritated my eyes become too. Best wishes.

I am here specifically because I have used the essence waterproof for a few years and recently realized it smudges on my left eye no matter what I do. Decided I should do some research and try something new! I might go back to benefit after reading what you wrote.

L’Oréal Unlimited Length and Lift Mascara! It comes in an hourglass shape and I learned about it from Angie hot n’ flashy. I swear that one is an exact dupe for the viral tower 28 one

Love Sky High! Not really found in drug store but Ulta’s New Heights is the mascara I keep going back to. And it’s along the same price bracket as drug store.

Favorite mascara is maybelline falsies surreal. Typically I use three different mascaras, one for volume , one for length, and one to seal it, either a tubing, or a waterproof. This one can go all day alone.

My absolute favourite mascara is Flower Beauty Lash Warrior. Unfortunately Flower Beauty, for whatever reason, is becoming hard to get in Australia. I don’t know what’s going on with Flower and Essence. 😢

Sky High, Falsies Lash Lift and Telescopic are my top 3. Lash Paradise was terrible, clumpy. I never could understand the fascination with Essence or elf. Never used any of their mascaras that did anything for my lashes.
Milani highly rated and Benefit they’re real. 100xs better than lash paradise. Hated lash paradise. Did nothing for my lashes.
Love the new hair color, looks so natural and fresh ! I usually prefer natural fibers brushes but Kiko Milano Maxi Mod mascara has totally won me over, it has a very small tiny brush, easy to use and layer and the result is mind blowing. I do enjoy Essence Lash Princess as well and also Colourpop Level Up and Act Natural.

I’m 36, tried every drugstore mascara ever known to man, drugstore and high end alike- L’Oréal Voluminous (original)is still the best and my favroite mascara of all time in 2024 7:49 (the original). I’ve yet to find anything else that coats , separates, lengthens, volumizes, perfect consistency forumla… just ticks off all the boxes like she does.
My favorite mascara is Loreal False Fiber (not waterproof). It is easy to remove, gives length and volume. It is very comfortable to wear. People will ask me what mascara I am wearing.

I LOVE the Waterproof Lash Princess! I’ve been waiting on Amazon to get it back in stock because that’s where I’ve always ordered it before. They only have it listed with “more” buying options right now and when you click on it they are all more than double the original $4.99 price. I find that super annoying. I’ll probably end up having to order it directly from their website which sucks, because Prime shipping is so quick! LOL. But it’s been out of stock on Amazon at the original price for MONTHS, now! 🤦🏻♀️
EDIT: the one I’ve been using lately, since I’ve been out of the Waterproof Lash Princess, is the Original Lash Sensational in Waterproof. I love it so much more than the Sky High. That’s one that I’ve always had good luck with and it always makes my lashes look amazing! 🥰
After Covid most of those good deals went away. It's so frustrating!
My all time favorite mascara is Thrive. It works perfect for me. After that it would be most of the LOreal mascaras in waterproof.

I love the Sky High. I use a couple of coats then top off with my Unlimited.
I tried the green Lash Princess not for me I don’t understand why so many people like it . I continue using Double Extend LOreal because the tubing is so easy to remove and works for me. I really dislike taking off mascara even ones that aren’t waterproof always irritates my eyes. What product would you say takes off non waterproof mascara the easiest ?. I would like to try the lash paradise if I can find a good remover . ❤️

I switched from Essence waterproof to the maybelline sky high. Love it and really love the primer. Being black is what makes it so great. That’s all I use for my bottom lashes. Now I’ll try L’Oréal paradise next. Looking great MelissaM ❤

I just rediscovered LOreal Unlimited mascara. My droopy, sparse eyelashes stayed curled upward even after several coats and they looked fabulously long and thick w/ no smearing or flaking. I had been using waterproof mascara to achieve the same effects. Now I can wash my face without using special mascara remover.

I neeed to try that L’Oréal lash paradise… my favorite is Hourglass Tubing. I got it in a package deal, so I didn’t even have to pay for it. But I LOVE it!!! I have about 8 tubes of unopened mascara I have to go through before I can justify buying another Hourglass one.
Loved the Maybelline Sky High until the scrapper broke...not to worry, they sent me a coupon for a new one. Second try....scrapper broke again. They are sending a refund check and I will try out the Loreal
Love this video! I liked the elf lash it loud but the brush is just too prickly it's actually painful if you poke yourself with it. I didn't like the green lash princess from essence so maybe I'll try the waterproof. I agree I love the mabelline sky high. I guess I'm cheap because I don't want to spend $10 on a mascara since I use so much of it every day. Does the loreal lash paradise have fragrance in it? I can't remember why I didn't like it.
I've used Baby Oil to take off my mascara ince 1987! & it just works! My favs are Sky High, Thrive & the Milani in the turquoise wand. I also wear the Maybelline pink/green tube Royal Blue when I wear purple shadows! The Lancome ones are good but why pay more... 💜Lash Paradise flakes on me...

I have long fine lashes. Volumizers glop. Silicone brushes just bend them and don't grab. I need super creamy and have yet to find one I like. I am old enough to remember when mascaras actually worked. These modern polymers are mostly useless.

I think I’m going to take the plunge with the Sky High from Maybelline or Lash Paradise. I’ve been wanting to try Sky High for a while but I already had a mascara I was using. Now my mascara is old and needs to be tossed. I’m ready for a new one!

I love the blonde hair too on her. I’m also blonde and when I want to make a change, I’ll have my hair stylist add some low lights in my hair to give it some dimension. Plus, blonde hair helps disguise grey hair!

I like it so much I am not even curious to try the new “lift” version. Isn’t that odd? I sure experiment with everything else, especially skin care. 😊

I don’t get good results from Lash Paradise - it clumps and flakes on me. My favorite drugstore mascara is the new e.l.f. Lash and Roll, in brown. I also do like the Lash It Loud, as a second coat to add volume.

Mascara is vital for me because of my wimpy lashes. I 'm thrilled to have found Bobbi Brown's Smokey Eye Mascara. It's the best, and gives me long, gorgeous lashes! Try the ordinary lash growth it’s 15 and does a good job.
Yes, I agree with buzzydecker....The Ordinary lash serum is good. I was using a high end lash serum and decided to try The Ordinary. The main difference I've noticed is that The Ordinary lash serum doesn't give you the LONGER lashes that you get with the more expensive lash serums, however, it will definitely thicken up your lash line. If you have a sparse lash line, then definitely give it a try. It will give you more lashes!! I'm on my second tube now, and I will continue to purchase. I use it only once a day. I apply it at night before bed.
Im in search of a new favorite. Tried so many. Most irritating, flake or end up under my eye. My favorite that was discontinued was Loreal Lash Out. Havent found one like it! I just have to settle with CoverGirl Exhibitionist, Loreal Lash Paradise, and MILK.
I really like Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift, it doesn't flake, smudge, or clump on me like the green lash princess does sometimes. I even fell asleep with it on and I didn't have raccoon eyes the next morning.
I really want to try Elf's new Lash Xtndr tubing mascara that's supposed to be a dupe for Thrive cosmetics.

Usually a Waterproof works best for me. The Maybelline Sky High Waterproof is great.

But if you're not comfortable with a Waterproof, I would try the Essence Waterproof I showed. It's pretty easy to take off.

I have the Sky High but haven't opened it because I'm addicted to Thrive! I do occasionally use one by L'Oréal and it's Lash Paradise. That one has a primer. I also love the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect and don't have any issues with flaking or black undereyes. But I'm on subscription to Thrive. I love Tubing mascaras! Thanks for the great suggestions! I have a whole drawer of false lashes but haven't been putting forth the effort to put them on! I think a black primer is genius because I'm guilty of forgetting my mascara after putting on primer 😂😂 Love ya gal! ❤ ~lori

You should try the essence new mascara... Like a boss. The one in pink metallic tube .. It is amazing, no flacky or anything and the bedst.. It holds the curl writ only one layer.

The only one I have tried from your list has been the Essence but I do like it. Good thing you don't live in Australia though if you think $30 is a lot for a Mascara- both Sky High and Lash Paradise are RRP AU$26 if they are not on sale! Our prices here are so much more expensive and we don't have a lot of the cheaper brands, nor do we have the range.

I have to wear waterproof mascara an still always have smudging on upper and lower lids😭 I have no issue getting it off, comes right off. I have tried all the mascara's everyone recommends for no smudging, tried primer, powdering my lashes an lids and no luck. I am 60 so trust me there isn't a drop of oil in my skin.😂 I will never understand this, its frustrating.

Melissa - I love your everyday makeup videos! Finally someone with super pale skin too! My mascara has to be brown as black is way too stark on me. Thing is it's hard to find a good for your lashes mascara that's drugstore priced, brown and works well on stubby/sparse lashes. Help!

I have such a hard time with my eyes and makeup. I have tried all these except the Elf one. I have tiny short blondish lashes. I end up with it all over my eyes and face. Probably operator error lol So im on the hunt for a super fast drying no smudge or flaking massscara .
Julie, it sounds like you need an eyelash growth serum. If you are consistent, twice a day, your lashes will grow.
