2016 Ram Big Horn Crew Cab. NON Amplified stock 6 speaker stereo & I don't have the ANC module under drivers seat. I upgraded to a full JL Audio system. JL RD900/5 amp (75W x 4 + 500W x 1), JL C2-600 6" components front and rear & the JL 10W3v3 Stealth Box. JL 4ga. amp wiring kit, JL 16ga speaker wire & 12ga wire for sub, JL 4ch & 2ch RCA's, Dynamat Sound treatment & a PAC AP4-CH41. Mounted the stealth box per instructions, ran new speaker wires THROUGH door boots (Pain in the ass but doable), ran remote turn on to deck along with RCA's. Ran amp kit thru firewall at the plastic cover next to the cable boot NOT thru the boot at the firewall. Mounted amp under rear passenger seat. Removed trim to access back of radio, unplugged the factory wiring harness and plugged in the CH41 to the radio and connected the factory wiring harness to the CH41. Connected the supplied remote turn on from the CH41 to the remote turn on to the amp. connected front/rear/sub RCA's to the CH41 and NOTHING ELSE. Set the dip switches per instructions and ran 2 "sleep" cycles at 5 mins minimum per instructions. Everything works as it should, however I am now waiting on a JL Twk88 DSP to add so I can fully get the sound I am looking for. IF you are NOT going to run new speaker wires then you will need to splice into the factory wiring per the supplied instructions, same if you are retaining the factory Alpine amp then you will need to use the secondary supplied harness with speaker leads that has the "AMPLIFIED" sticker on it and splice into your factory harness. The way I installed my set up, the dash speakers are NOT being used and when/if I choose to sell my truck I can take out my gear and reinstall the factory 6x9's to the factory quick connects, remove the CH41and do another 2 sleep cycles and the truck is back to factory with ZERO wires cut or spliced. I may do a video on my install (Would be my 1st ever YT upload).
Up to 2021 ram so far with Alpine, HK, or non ext amp you still use CH41. It's simply the beat way to get your preouts without amplifying the chime sound and confusing the canbus network. Also the 2 sleep cycles are only for vehicles with no factory amplifiers when you have to change the one dip switch
Well you would run the audio from the pac thru the rca cable to the amp. You amp would have the speaker wires (start), run them to the doors (thru the door harness) to the speakers. All the warnings etc from the factory are still sent out, just not amplified from the factory amplifier. Can't really give you a direction or place to run your speaker wires because it depends on where your amplifier is mounted. So if your amp was under your seat you would run it from under your seat into the doors. But if your amp was in your trunk you would have to run it from your trunk into your door speakers.
Thanks for the video. I got a question about the "pig tail" harness that allows you to connect the speaker output from the amplifier back into the harness. I see 8 wires (4 pairs, positive and negative). The colors are purple, gray, green, and white. Can you tell me which color goes to which channel?
Please update the video, this model pac4-ch41 is only for amplified systems, if your truck only has an ANC (gray looking amp, not black) then you must get the pac4-ch41 R2 !
Maybe a stupid question ,but where/how do you hook up the loose wires/speaker wire coming off the the back of the module. You didn't show explain that part . Any help would be appreciated
Great video, quick question. I'm thinking on upgrading to the Phoenix 13.6 tablet radio, do I keep the ap4 or eliminate it because it has the wires fot the subs etc.

Does the pac amp pro module jus mount or sit behind the radio? Hoping it fits behind there and you don't have to mount it outside the radio or something
I had a local installer install an amp for just the subwoofers, they cut the ANC wires, I wish they would have watched your video, so now I’m looking at upgrading the all the doors and the dash speakers, and add another amp for the highs, what speakers would you recommend for the doors and the dash, also an amp for the highs?
Thank you for that video. Im getting ready to do the same thing but in a 2020 Challenger with Alpine factory amp. Is the programming the same for the module for the Challenger? Also do I suppose to tap in to the factory amp? I'm new at all this but excited to do it. I have the AP4- CH41 and PAC APH-CH01 Harness.
What's the benefit of going with the amp pro vs going with the lc5 or lc7 audio control? I've honestly been going in circles with this. I have a 2019 challenger non amplified system, but I want to keep the factory head unit and add possibly 2 amps.
Same. This bypasses the amp. Unfortunately the speakers and existing subwoofer will not power by themselves when you install the pac4 so you will have to add an amo for your speakers and an additional amp for your subwoofer. Minimum $1000 with a digital sound processor or everything will sound like a tin can. Trust me
So do you have to have that adapter too get rcas? This audio shop is positive that I don’t and gave me this adapter that requires you to splice into wires. But I can’t find a wire diagram anywhere! Help
Hey. Please help!! I want to install in my 19 ram (alpine with anc) and I only want to add subwoofers, at the moment at least. will the factory door speakers still work if I connect this or will I have to add a 4 channel amp for them as well? also because it is amplified what do I do with the 4th switch? any advice is greatly appreciated ty.
I'm trying to install this AmpPro in my 2020 Ram 1500 non-amplified, I ran the sleep cycles and get a solid red light but doesn't flicker when I turn the knob and I have no sound. On the harness behind the radio there are speaker connectors but one is labeled "for amplified only" and the other doesn't say anything. Am I miss something to get my sound or would I have to run an amp to all door speakers?
So last year I did an install on my 2015 ram 1500 crew cab tapping into the stereo wires with a hi low converter it did not work . Can you explain why I have looked over the internet for days and there is not much information. I have a 8.4 uconnect radio I'm about to throw into the street and buy a Tesla style radio . This module you installed cost 350 on Amazon why should I not just replace the radio with a aftermarket?
I have a 15 ram alpine factory system... front 2 door speakers were loud at one point.. then muffled out to only bass...my friends ram with the same system ..his door speakers are loud..I replaced the speakers and same thing
I have a 2019 ram basic stereo w anc under seat. I have a powered sub to install. I bought the pac ch1 anc bypass. Can I just plug that in my anc device then run my kicker loc device off the anc bypass then of course my amp rca off it?
I don’t have alpine system. How do I add a 4 channel amp to this pac? Went thru the cycles and have no sound. I see now that I need an external amp for speakers how do I run it?
How do I install the speakers and tweeters? Do I just 1,cut factory speakers out and splice new speakers/tweeters to the factory harness on all 4 doors. 2, connect the PAC CH41 to my radio and from the pac module run the front and rear rca cables to my amp powering the 4 doors and 1 rca from the pac to my sub amp. 3, just connect the CH03 harness to the ANC under the seat and that’s it?
Quick question hopefully you can help me I have the same exact vehicle 2019 ram non-amplified factory unit I just installed the amp pro and amplified all of the door speakers and dash speakers where did you tie into your dash speakers from after the amplifier? I’m getting an awful hissing sound also did you leave the active noise cancellation module in tact because Crutchfield gave me a bypass wire that completely discards the module it just plugs from the big white plug to the small black plug nothing else going into the module this does not seem right
I'm not sure if this was already answered, but I only want to power a mono amp for my subwoofer. what switches do I flip on or off on the pac ap4-ch41 so I can use the amp for my subwoofer? also, will powering the amp be as simple as hooking up the power cable to the battery and ground cable to ground, or do I need to buy something else to hook into power?
Good info, Quick question, are you getting any clipping when your at a high volume for a period of time? Do you know if there are any updates for the PAC unit?
Crutchfield says this wont work for 2021 ram 2500. It all looks the same im just not very experienced with this kind of stuff. Just looking for some assurance as to if 21 ram is the same or not.
Is it normal to hear a slight static or hiss once this is installed? Just had 2 amps installed a 4 channel and mono, new door speakers, and cut wires to anc.
Maybe you can help, I just installed this in a challenger and seems like I have less bass than when I was using a LOC, I even reconfigure my gain to my subs. Im using the bass knob and its turned all the way up, and was turned up when i set my gains. Any ideas why my bass seems less, Im set at 5 volts
Hey thanks for the video. I thought you were supposed to cut the black plug off and run your speaker wires from your amp to it? That what it says in the documents
if you use this then you have to use an amp for the door speakers cause the once you go through the cycles it will reprogram the truck and speakers will not get any volume
Finally getting around to buying these parts to start my own install in my 2021 2500. I havent had a good system in a car since I had a 2002 eclipse fully done up and with about 100 pounds of sound deadening in it lol. Really excited about this! The video helped explain a ton, thank you! Did the pac ch41 have a T harness that you ran the amplifier signal back out to for the stock speaker wires or did you run all new wire? Thanks JP!
Hey buddy, my truck I did the same thing this guy said about putting the number for switch down and I did the two deep cycles but only my rear speakers are the ones that are playing and they played loud at volume number one and all the way up to 38 do you know how to fix this issue I have a 2021 ram 2500, Big Horn 8.43.
I have an Ram3500 2022 tradesman I recently upgraded with Alpine speakers. After a couple weeks Front Passenger door speaker as well as dash front passenger speaker suddenly stopped working simultaneously both. what could cause that? Will this pac solve the problem and give me a better sound?
Oh man i like you video so much, i need your help you know I’m trying to change the speakers to my 2019 ram big horn, in fact i want to upgrade all the sound
I got this one from atrend but let me warn you ahead of time the box sticks out a lot from under the seat, it's not super bad but it's definitely not flush we are talking sticking out by a good 4 to 6 inches the dual 10 box is the same
Thanks for the video, a quick question just bought the same set up waiting on the mail, do I have to run the speaker wires for the doors to the new amp or the stock wiring just how it is will work thanks in advance.
@@jptheinstallguy i had my system already installed on my 2015 charger with this pac box and I disconnected the box and installed a eq and a epic center and now I connected the box back up and now I system doesn’t wanna work I only could here the dash small speaker play
i did.only because i am running aftermarket speaker, but still left the stock speakers wires in tact if some day i plan to sell the truck and i can put the stock ones back😁😁
bro never showed the wire harness to the highs, why would you leave that entire section out??? followed his advice, went and bought the mod and now im seeing a harness that you still have to tap the main harness, Your video is garbage, and everyone commenting on how good it is, your a bunch of idiots!
not 100% sure for real but you can go the pac website to use there fitguide and see they actually have another module that is for sub only which might work better and for more videos
Btw. You have the best and most understandable video posted for this issue. You were right. If this module is not integrated with the system it’ll sound like garbage no matter what’s done.
I have the 2020 Ram with the 8.4 no amp. This is my first system. I was talking to the guy who is going to install my system and asked him if I need the am pro he said no that all I would need is a sound processor. I'm pass the point of confused. And the anc that I bought only has the 2 white connectors and not the black.
Sound Processors are Hard wired in to get access to a pre-amp output signal. YOU HAVE TO SPLICE FACTORY WIRING. Assuming you have the non Alpine system. With the PAC unit it's plug & play. With a Processor, you can tune your system directly from the box or your phone model specific. With the PAC you will tune from the amp. I like the PAC unit!! Simplifies the install drastically.
@@greghinchley6277 my only concern is the wire cutting I don't want to void my warranty. My installer said that he would install the pac but I would have to cut the wires. With the processor he can wire it into the anc bypass and not have to cut the factory wires.
@@greghinchley6277 this is my first system thanks for all the information which one is better. I'm going with all ds18 and the pioneer sound processor is throwing me off...lol
Alright…. Someone that has done this with a vehicle with no factory amp answer this. I just want to run a 2 channel amp for my subs. Do not want to run an amp to door speakers, etc. How do I get the factory radio to power the factory speakers with this module?
ok so the down side to using this module is that once its programmed the truck thinks its has a factory amp in it so no more output will come from the radio side you will have to use a 4channel amp to power your speakers. i think i ended up using a small alpine power pack amp to power the speakers
Hey man i have the same truck and am Doing this exact thing. My question is when you’re installing the Amp pro, is it a better option versus a line out converter? Also I’m installing new door speakers and using a five channel amp to power 110 inch subwoofer and the door speakers. Is the a ANC bypass module as simple as you showed to install?
if your adding a amp this is the best and easiest piece to use if you use a regular loc you have to add load resistors and that can become a headache. sorry for the late reply
Can this be used with a mono block amp only to power subwoofers? I've been told that if I use this in my 2020 RAM (non amplified system) and only hook up a mono block amp for the subs that I wont get any sound from the door and dash speakers.
that is true because when you do the 2 sleep cycles your are flashing the truck to think it has an amplified system so no output comes from the radio anymore which means you will only have bass from your mono block amp if you dont add a 4 ch but i think pac just made a module that is for sub only i will try to get this piece in and do a video on it for you guys who only want sub output
@@jptheinstallguy thanks for the quick response, bro. I have actually purchased the product you are referring to. It’s the PAC apsub-ch41 for sub amp only. However, I’ve been told with this product that it won’t work with non amplified factory systems for the same reason. It seems that people with these newer Mopar’s really don’t have much of a choice but to get the ap4-ch41 and use a mono and 4 channel to power everything or just a 6 channel or something to power everything.
Thanks so much for this video! Just the info I needed. So using this AP4 module, I would then run the speaker outputs from the module to my aftermarket amplifier? Does this just do the doors or does it include the dash speakers? Thanks again!
I was told you had to cut wires on the speakers to add a amp is that right cause I was told I needed a 5 channel amp so are the highs on the one you installed amped too when you did this or just the subs …??I had it installed at a shop if it was that easy I would of done this myself I could of sworn you had to cut the speaker wired now I am confused as can be. And I have a un amped system as stock. So I guess what I am asking is I don’t need a five channel or I do need a five channel amp man this crap gets confusing. All I wanted was bass the highs where good before I have infinity dash and kicker doors all around so I am lost because if I don’t need a 5 channel I am gonna rip these guys a new one when I go down there. They sold me a 5 channel and it was pricy from infinity and I was told before I did all this to get a SKAR they are decent and don’t break the wallet
so when using this piece to add a sub you have to use a 4 channel amp as well because after the 2 sleep cycles it flashes the radio and makes it think it has a amp in it so there will be no audio output coming from the factory radio anymore so you will have to add a amp for the door speakers if you want to add an amp using this module. now i think they just made another module for just adding a sub so you wouldnt have to add a 4 channel amp which would be perfect for your situation i just dont know if its released yet.
@@jptheinstallguy I will talk to the place today that installed my 5 channel amp cause the highs sound like they are in a hallway and sounds like crap I will let them know I need a 4 channel amp not a 5 channel amp
The active noise canceling mics are in the car to block road noise if you add a sub and the mics are still connected once you turn the volume down or the car off you will get this very loud and annoying feedback from the subs. So its usually best to unplug your mics but this module allows you to bypass/integrate with the factory system so when you install a new amp it doesn't mess with the anc module and outputs that loud feedback. Its very necessary lol
I connected mine and have no sound did I miss something. In ur video u did not show all of what u connected with the ap4-ch41. Did u connect two speaker connectors in the harness????
@@jptheinstallguy Where is the ANC bypass for the amplified system? its not under the driver seat like in your video and Idk where to hook up the CH01 (or CH03) thanks for the reply!!
@@jptheinstallguy I have power at the module. But between the module and the head unit nothing. I can move the harness a certain way and it works. But any little movement and it goes right back off
One of your pins may be loose try to apply pressure on the connector if it comes back on use a zip tie around the connector and module to keep it tight. I dont think its a bad module but it is a possibility. I usually run constant and ground around the module as well most of them come like that and it states that it should be installed like that as well. Try that and let me know. If it is a bad module swap it out
@@jptheinstallguy thanks for the help. I will give that a go tomorrow and see if it is the problem. I don't think it's the module. Because I can hear the door chime and blinkers.

Is this setup ok for just adding a sub and amp or do i need to change door speakers and add an amp for those
if you use this then you have to use an amp for the door speakers cause the once you go through the cycles it will reprogram the truck and speakers will not get any volume
I have a 2016 Chrysler 300 I was just curious so if I have an factory amp I wouldn’t have to go through that?
This video is genius
If I only want to install subs on my Ram do I have to do the bypass the thing under the seat?
Do i need that module with a pioneer 5 channel amp with signal sensing and speaker level input
Did you have to do anything with your computer to the amp pro box ? I just installed mine and the volume is very low even with it turned up
I have an Ram3500 2022 tradesman
I recently upgraded with Alpine speakers.
After a couple weeks Front Passenger door speaker as well as dash front passenger speaker suddenly stopped working simultaneously both.
what could cause that?
Will this pac solve the problem and give me a better sound?
My 2020 ram Has the el pine system with asap how can I add another amp?
Is it the same for 2015 3500 Dodge ram?
So same for2020 ram 2500/3500 non amplified 8.4 screen?? Thank you
Will the bass knob work with any amplifier
What's up boss I'm having issues with it blinking red when I turn it on it blinks red when I turn off the radio and when I change the channel
Oh man i like you video so much, i need your help you know I’m trying to change the speakers to my 2019 ram big horn, in fact i want to upgrade all the sound
th-cam.com/video/IfUT1EhmRqI/w-d-xo.html here is a vid I did on the speaker install hope it helps
Where did you pick up the ANC bypass harness?
Great video buddy!!
Video helped a lot. Will be doing this soon
I don’t have the ANC box under my seat. I have a 2020 ram 1500 idk where it could be I looked everywhere
If all im doing is upgrading the doors & the dash speakers do i still have to by pass the anc?
No
Is there one of these for the 2019 Dodge Journey with the UConnect 8.4 stereo system? It's so damn weak.
Did you amplify the door speakers?
If I wanted to put an equalizer for my ram. Do I still need the amp pro?
What does the knob do? What do I do if I have a bass knob with my amp also?
Will this work on a 2022 ram 1500 with the 8.4 radio
Very good looking setup. Nice work.
I've been looking all over for dual sub box for the 19-up Quad cab. Where'd you get that one from?
I got this one from atrend but let me warn you ahead of time the box sticks out a lot from under the seat, it's not super bad but it's definitely not flush we are talking sticking out by a good 4 to 6 inches the dual 10 box is the same
@@jptheinstallguy thanks bro!
exists for jeep wrangler unlimited 21 with uconnect 8.4?
Thanks for the video, a quick question just bought the same set up waiting on the mail, do I have to run the speaker wires for the doors to the new amp or the stock wiring just how it is will work thanks in advance.
Don't have to tap into the doors harness should have the speaker wires for you to run to the amp
@@jptheinstallguy i had my system already installed on my 2015 charger with this pac box and I disconnected the box and installed a eq and a epic center and now I connected the box back up and now I system doesn’t wanna work I only could here the dash small speaker play
i did.only because i am running aftermarket speaker, but still left the stock speakers wires in tact if some day i plan to sell the truck and i can put the stock ones back😁😁
@@donearl6675 after installing the PAC how do you connect your factory speaker wires to the after market amp??
How do the speaker inputs work? Harness is ready or do I need to splice
bro never showed the wire harness to the highs, why would you leave that entire section out??? followed his advice, went and bought the mod and now im seeing a harness that you still have to tap the main harness, Your video is garbage, and everyone commenting on how good it is, your a bunch of idiots!
Does it work same way for durango
Good Video Bro. Will this interface work for 2021 Durango with 12” screen
2021 Durango R/T with factory sub?
not 100% sure for real but you can go the pac website to use there fitguide and see they actually have another module that is for sub only which might work better and for more videos
Cool. I will do that. I need the multi channel one for front, rear and subs. I’m running 3 amps for it and want it to be right.
Btw. You have the best and most understandable video posted for this issue. You were right. If this module is not integrated with the system it’ll sound like garbage no matter what’s done.
Is there any chance i can get that PAC anywhere cheaper than 300?
Did your chimes change? I installed that and the alert chimes for the backup sensor and for the blind spot detection sound awful
everything sounds the same
I have the 2020 Ram with the 8.4 no amp.
The PAC has the optional "Y" connector for the ANC. When using the Y your O.E. wiring remains virgin.
Outstanding video, sir. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Hay I am having the same problem what do I need to do to get my door speakers to work again
Great video
where did you end up putting the interface? i was thinking of the glove box is the cable long enough
i was able to mount this right behind the radio
@@jptheinstallguy cool. is the cable long enough to go to the glove box?
@@jptheinstallguy i just got my kit and was able to put it in the glove box. That way i can get to it without popping the center piece off. Thanx man
Did you have a harness from the amp to all the speakers or did you rerun wire or does that preout come with something for that?
Used the wires off the spesker side of the harness and went straight to the amp
@@jptheinstallguy oh thanks, I didn't see the speaker side of the harness.
@@jptheinstallguy how can i contact you bro have a few questions
Where did you order all those wires from ?
Is this a crew or quad cab?
Thanks so much for this video! Just the info I needed. So using this AP4 module, I would then run the speaker outputs from the module to my aftermarket amplifier? Does this just do the doors or does it include the dash speakers? Thanks again!
Do you know if using the amp Pro you have to run new speaker wire for each speaker? Or you plug and play and use your factory wire speakers ?
Nice job bro
Big up💯
I was told you had to cut wires on the speakers to add a amp is that right cause I was told I needed a 5 channel amp so are the highs on the one you installed amped too when you did this or just the subs …??I had it installed at a shop if it was that easy I would of done this myself I could of sworn you had to cut the speaker wired now I am confused as can be.
@@jptheinstallguy they also said I needed a 5 Chanel because the fifth channel is for the sub
Also my man greet video but I don’t have a amped stick system and I didn’t see that module in my truck for the mics
Whats the purpose of bypassing the ANC module. Thanks for also uploading this video, hard to find new ram subs install videos.
Thanks JP!
Does this installation void the warranty at all?
Love the video? What changes if you have the Alpine amplified system in your Ram?
this should work with both amplified and non amplified rams so youll just be adding the sub
@@jptheinstallguy Where is the ANC bypass for the amplified system? its not under the driver seat like in your video and Idk where to hook up the CH01 (or CH03) thanks for the reply!!
Is it possible to use a 7 band eq if you’re using ap4?
sure just take your rca from the module and go to the eq should work just fine
Hey man just found your channel. I have a question about an interface module.
What's up?🤔
@@jptheinstallguy I have power at the module.
