There are some of the opinion he may have misread the maps for that area of the ocean. The result being their crashing into the sea - or wherever they ended up. If all you can do is see yourself as good, right, etc. probably means you can't take jokes about yourself or background well at all. I'm Indian and I can assure you that girls in our culture don't expect you to hold open doors for them or pick up their suitcases for them because in the culture I'm from women do a lot of that type of stuff themselves because it's a farming culture. A joke I could make about my society is the arranged marriages and other stuff I don't feel like talking about. But I hope you understand that she's making fun of girls in the US specifically. Different society have different pros and cons. Why is it not ok to even mention the cons in a comedic manner? I'm suprised you don't understand that the best comedy is the controversial stuff and that maybe it's okay to laugh about it even if you don't 100% agree because you know I'm assuming you've lived in this country for awhile.
