Wow. Outstanding result. I think I already said it but I will say it again: I am not playing or collecting warhammer, but your videos are really tempting me to pick some minis up just to try and replicate your techniques. I am mostly painting Star Wars legion and a song of ice and fire miniatures nowadays. So I would be really pleased if you would do any videos on that as well. But honestly I will take any video from you because I replay like your approaches and the pleasing results. You are my favorite miniature painting channel at the moment!

In some characteristics yes, the Raphael seems to hold onto the water/paint without drying for longer, but the Artis Opus bristles and brush strokes are smooth as butter, has more of a snap back, and the bristle composition is a bit easier to work with. I use my Raphael for the majority of the work like basecoating, glazing, and the first slightly wider layer of edge highlight where longer paint retention is more useful and then break out the artis opus for the real important details like the 2nd/3rd layers of edge highlighting or tiny detail work like eyes that need to be done right the first time around. The opus have a slightly thinner belly so in my experience you'll be washing it and applying paint to the bristles a bit more often than the Raphael but it does work more smoothly and has a little more brush control. Raphael still shines tremendously but the Opus is like the ace up my sleeve xD a note tho a size 2 Opus is the same as a size 1 Rapheal. I bought a size 1 Opus thinking it would be the same as a size 1 Raphael but it's the equivalent of a size 0 Raphael. So if you're planning on getting them then get 1 size up from whatever Raphael your using.

a small heads up on the vallejo gloss varnish used in this video; that is an oop varnish. I tried to figure it out but that varnish seems to resemble the new Premium gloss varnish, which is different than the normal gloss varnish which is also sold, so there are 2 different gloss varnishes available from vallejo.. I don't know how much impact it would have on the blood effect used in this video. I ordered it to see if it works the same. just a small reminder for people who want to try this out and might get different results.

Only 13 minutes over time to produce something that stunning is amazing! I love how you built up the rust on that blade, and adding fluorescent paint into the rust mixture was brilliant, it isn't something I would have thought of. Fancy doing a Bloodthrister video next? ;) Genuinely blown away by your content though, makes me glad to have jumped on the Series D hype. Can I just ask one quick question about the brushes though, how far can you let the brushes wear down before replacing them? My large has shrunk down quite a bit and I am finding it hard to gauge how much life there is left in it. Reckon you could give us some kind of quick run down of that type of thing? I will replace it when I need to but limited hobby budgets being what they are mean I don't want to until I have to.

I recommend doing the other bits and pieces (like the mini daemons) that come with this model and finish the entire project on a base. From start to finish complete the project. Get people interested and encourage them in spending 3 hours a weekend and finish this model within a month. I for one am interested in doing this same model now.

It's washes over the accidental drybrushing they got, a repeat of the yellow-ish final steps, and a repeated thin wash (any red with a colour like sigvald burgundy in works well)

Nurgle weapons don't rust and corrode because they don't care for their weapons. It's quite the opposite: the demons and mortal champions want Nurgle's blessing so they "care" for their blades with means that promote the growth of fungus, sores, and bacteria. Nurgle is a deity of growth and life, not decay and pestilence (like say, Nagash, or the Great Horned Rat, respectively). While bacteria, viruses, fungus, and rust might lead to the dissolution of material things, it's in the name of transforming them into raw elements that are fertile grounds for even more growth. Nurgle's home is a garden, after all, not a desolate wasteland.

Amazing work and I feel bad for bringing up any criticism since I wouldnt be able to do anything like this and also I absolutly love the skin and the disgusting bits and almost everything on this modell except the rust. Not the tones or the technic but your placement. You placed the rust like it would collect on the "lower" places but it is a weapon in the hand of a "living" deamon. I mean your placement would have sence if it would be a statue and the sword would be in this position all time. I guess most of the time this sword is laying arond in the mud or in best case hanging on a wall. I dont think that our disguisting demon lord is standing in the rain all day long just to get the rusty water collect on one side of the blade :D Also on the chains. As this beast moves around the chanis are constantly hitting each other. There would be some shining bits and parts caused by the constant rubbing. I am really sorry for being this picky but as a scale modeler I spent a lot of time learning how to deal with rust on various vehicles. Other than that I love this modell you made. Absolutly gorgeous!
