    What a beautiful trail! Gorgeous views all over the place. And I remember hearing the "Loch Lomond" song when I was a kid, maybe 50 or so years ago. My neighbors up the hill (who were my godparents) would throw house parties, and my godmother, who was Irish, would play the electric organ while all the adults would stand around it and sing. That must have been one of the songs they sang because I can't think where else I would have heard it. It's cool to see the actual loch and surrounding area mentioned in the lyrics.
    O ye'll tak the high road and I'll tak' the low road
    An' I'll be in Scotland afore ye:
    But me and my true love will never meet again
    On the bonnie, bonnie banks o Loch Lomond.
    Great memories. Thanks for sharing your journey, and stay safe!

    Great video! My gosh, the scenery! I appreciate seeing the WHW in all kinds of weather. Some of the Scottish vloggers who have more flexibility of when they walk it only walk when it's sunny and it tends to give the (wrong) impression that it's always lovely. In truth, I think it rains more often than not! My husband and I are doing it next April and we'll have to take whatever weather we get. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

    Very enjoyable guys. The bad news is that there’s even more rain forecast until Sunday. Typically Scottish weather I’m afraid.
    The good news is that your views will get even better as you continue towards Ft William. Slainte.

      @@NickyandRyanontheAT I honestly don’t mi d the rain anymore. It rains over 260 days a year here so we’re used to the moody, sullen skies.

    I'll never forget how good it felt arriving at Beinglas Farm after a 24-mile second day on this hike. The final two miles it was dark and I was beginning to get seriously worried, not to mention exhausted, and I only managed to push through thanks to the adrenaline. Unfortunately, this wonderful and strategically placed campsite has now closed for good. An irreplaceable loss to the WHW.

      Beinglas campsite is not closed for good. It opens for the season on 1st April

      @@kirsteneasdale5707 Thanks for that. Yes, since writing this post it appears that the campsite is under new ownership. The old owners were quite ambiguous about its future. I'm very happy it will still be around.

    Now that dessert looked awesome…especially after a day of trudging through the mud. I’m curious about the temperatures there….day and night. Also are you filtering water from streams or getting enough from taps along the way? Thanks for taking the time and energy to share your hike.

    • @NickyandRyanontheAT
      @NickyandRyanontheAT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey John, the temperature was typically low 60s during the day and then high 30s-low 40s overnight. We brought our 15 degree sleeping bags and they were perfect for the temp! And we didn’t need to use the sawyer squeeze once even though we brought it. There’s plenty of taps

    Scotsman here, firstly fantastic video. The English guy gave you wrong info. Loch Ness contains more volume of water than all the lochs in England & Wales combined, its not deeper than all of them combined. Also the deepest part of Loch Ness is about 230m. Ben Nevis is over 1300m.
