Baxta baby❣️Wow Nicky, you were tugging on my hearts strings talking about finishing. What a conflict of emotion you must have been going through. Really beautiful day, awesome lunch spot. It’s a very pretty place. Can only imagine the camaraderie around the campfire. Well you are there, yahoooo! What an adventure you two have lived. 👍👍🙂❤️
You had a great adventure and life will give you many more. I know because I have been lucky to have 75 years of life and unforseen adventures as you will.
Funny, hiking with braid. HOB. New trail name. Grilling Macdonald's and then S'mores, come on, outstanding way to spend last night on trail of an epic adventure with friends. Well done. Can't wait for the summit, but will miss your postings. Merry Christmas, to all
As has been said before, you are two special people with a wonderful relationship. Never, ever take it for granted - not even for one day. Do so and you will be happy for the rest of your lives. Thanks for sharing your journey with the rest of us.
I just revisited day one yo look at the changes in physiology that you two have gone through and realized that you both had gotten thinner and more muscular, which is no surprise. I'm reasonably sure that Ryan has shaved his beard and probably regrown part of it. It happens even to male section hikers: it's a trail thing 😊. I hope that you are having a wonderful post-trail life and have gotten out to do a few miles occasionally. I still have 500 miles left, but I fear that one of my hips may be wearing out. I will make it by hook or by crook. Take care, and Happy New Year to you both. ☺👍
A little emotional there. You know what, maybe someday your children/child will hike the AT just like you did. One of you had parents who hiked the AT and now look at you guys. Amazing! Then the tradition might carry on. That was a great lunch spot. When we lived in NH, we used to drive up to the mountains and go across the Kakamagus Highway and there was a spot like that where water was rushing by and we would have lunch there. The only issue then was black flies. They were awful. LOL It's amazing how much you can eat after hiking. So much fun following you on your journey. One day left to enjoy and then in less than 3 months, my journey will start and I'll be following in your footsteps. John from MI
We had a great last few days on trail making it harder to leave but we were also so ready to get back home. Now that we are home we miss the trail but we don’t miss everything about the trail, that’s for sure. I didn’t think we would miss the trail as much as we do!
A day of mixed emotions, wanting to go home but not wanting it to end. But you can always plan another adventure for a few years down the road. Can't wait to see how this one ends. Merry Christmas!
Thank you! We likes the ursacks because they were so easy for hanging. We never slept with our bear bags and we never had a bear issue with our ursacks. It seemed like many people on trail were using the same thing
Hey, enjoy that McD’s. I’m loving it!! Such a bitter sweet point in your journey. You guys are the absolute best! So excited to watch this. Stay on the path! Monk (BTW Merry Christmas to you!!)
Great video! I’ve watched you guys here and there throughout your hike. Congrats! I noticed it was so nice outside in the video and then found out that the video was shot in September. What day did you guys start? I’m 41 and it’s one of my aspirations to thru hike the AT so thank you for being an encouragement for me!
And then there was 1 !!!
You hiked smart ! You hiked safe ! You hiked on ! WELL DONE !!!

Lots of emotions for you guys. Never say never. One day, you’ll take your kids camping and they will probably hike in your footsteps.
I totally understand your mixed feelings. Been there..
Nicky hiking with braid - too funny. Then got me tearing up as you start to comprehend the ending of life as you have known it for the past 6 months.
Bitter sweet finishing this!
Enjoyed the trip...all the best. Thanks 🙂🙏
Getting to K is a spoonful of sh sh sugar and a nose full of pepper, feels good, feels sad. Congrats! Been great hiking with you! Thanx!

Great job, 1 day to go, good video , all things most come to a end, so let's keep on hiking 💪 😀 👍
I just finished watching Hiking With Braids before watching this. Cracked me up! 😄
Can't wait to see you summit. Merry Christmas! ❤
Merry Christmas guys. Looking forward to your trek up to the sign!!!
Merry Christmas Stan!
We love Hiking with Braids!! All of you were so enjoyable!!
We do too, and so does Nickys mom!
That time around the fire cooking smores and burgers seems awesome!
Go hike the PCT next year and you can do the McDonalds Hiking challenge
Do it!
Hi guys, love watching your trip. Can you tell me how it was using the Ursack food bag? How many others did you see on trail? Thanks,,
Thank you! We likes the ursacks because they were so easy for hanging. We never slept with our bear bags and we never had a bear issue with our ursacks. It seemed like many people on trail were using the same thing

We started March 16 and hiked till sept 6. Just under 6 months.
Did you guys do a lot of big days or did you guys do more consistent miles? How many zeroes did you guys take?
Not quite a man bun there Ry.
Do you have full winter gear for climb up Katahdin? About a month ago a guy froze to death at the summit of Katahdin due to sub zero wind chills.
I guess you'll have to wait and see! 😁😏
1:33 sign means dogs prohibited even when they are on a leash, right?
Yeah. Unfortunately no dogs in Baxter at all.
how long ago was this?
This was September 5th
