For some reason, the tech industry at least in Boston is known for having lots of table tennis players. Most of them are "basement" players, but some are quite serious players - like 90% of the players in my club. lol. Anyway, just about every tech company has tt tables in their buildings for people to use during lunch and breaks. I once even applied for a job at HubSpot where I knew through a friend who works there that they had regular tournaments for employees. So, in my cover letter I made sure to say that I play pro-style table tennis. I didn't get the job...So, my theory is they didn't hire me I because they were intimidated and figured that I'd kick all the employees' butts, which wouldn't be fair for them. hehehe. (FYI, my friend always made it to the semis or the finals, and I could easily beat my friend practically w/o trying.)
