he is likely just wiping his hand, and he's touching closer to the net so no sweat is at the end of the table where the ball typically hits, its just a habit alot of players get into

+nick leeb I have heard the "wiping hands" theory before, but I dont think it is true. They could use a towel, or whatever. More likely it is a habit, or routine to calm them and collect their thoughts in between shots.
Sub par Plastic ball equals whiffs? There is almost no looping, just straight hitting. The look on Crisans face from the beginning tells you somethings wrong.
Thanks, that explains everything. I was shocked as I watched the first game. I 'm confident I could have beat both players at my prime 30 years ago. It's all about who comes to the party.
+PongGod Who knows? I was never rated because I never went to a club. Too busy serving God. Played as often as I could. Often hours at a time. Have played ever since I was five years old. I am now 60 yrs old, but 30 years ago two of my friends who were rated (don't remember how high) brought a friend over from their local ping pong club who was better than they were to see if he could beat me (I beat my friends regularly, probably only lost two games in 10 years). After playing 15 games in a row with each of them taking turns, I finally lost a game. My nerves were frazzled by then from so much intense concentration! But that means I beat each of them five times in one day. I made the comment above based on what I saw in the video and what I remember of my skills. I can still play a mean game, but my percentages have dropped, obviously! I think dinan545bmw asked a good question: "Where was China's Ma Long?" I think he would have beaten both of these players, at least if they played at the same level as this video reveals.
normally you would think major tournament finals are published asap on youtube. it's free & good for the sport. it's not happening, cause that would make less traffic to the olympic site, where the ads are. they're not interested making the sport popular or their philosophy is wrong, dead wrong.
Good grief, the opening and introduction of this match resembles an MMA fight. For goodness sakes, its table tennis! Whats next, fireworks at the match conclusion?!
Dan R. Adrian Crisan is currently ranked the 54th top player in the world according to ITTF rankings. If that's your definition of amateur, then essentially no one is pro.
+Steve Soper Wang jin xin was previously a provincial team player in China, beating crisan is not surprising at all, any of the top provincial team player win a world champ title if they go out and play tournaments, if there is no chinese national team level player..
Either they haven't trained in a year or they are just shitty players. Their movements are so stiff and their attacks are not even aggressive. No loops, no speed, no spin. They play like the ball's gonna explode anytime.
oh cool. I didn't know about it. Was just commenting on the basis of this match. My apologies... Btw thanks for uploading in 60fps, very few channels do that
Harshill Dhingra some players do find it difficult to adjust to the environment for the finals :) No problem! We always try and have the best streaming possible. We recently upgraded to 4K streaming so our events are even better quality now :D
Liam Neeson plays pretty well.
the most exciting part of this video , is at 47:30 ~~ The proposal!
i dont play ping pong, but i watch a little, is there a particular reason Jinxin Wang keeps touching a certain part of the table after every point?

+Zazen forever no they can only touch their tower every 6 points. they touch the touch to dry up their palm.
worst commentators ever...

Amazing! Look at those athletes competing!
"...take that side-spin serve and spin it, with a little bit of side-spin on it"
Where was China's Ma Long, the current 2015 World Champion at??? He didn't want to play in this U.S. Open???
+dinan545bmw U.S. Open without ITTF sponsorship is just too low for any top 30s to play LOL
Thanks, that explains everything. I was shocked as I watched the first game. I 'm confident I could have beat both players at my prime 30 years ago. It's all about who comes to the party.
+Liberty Pastor So you were a world top 50 player 30 years ago?

why the black t shirt guy hogging the microphone?? let the champ speak darn it...
What is the money prize?
$7,000 US First Place$3,500 for the runner-up.
Crisan ranked 72 in the world (November 2015) according the ITTF rankings. Wang does not even appear in the top 1000!
who..?
Wangs serve looks illegal. Almost covering the ball when he serves no?
+Paul Castro it looks OK
both alc blades huh ?
wtf the light looks terrible
This doesn't look like a professional game at all. At all!!!!!
+ManuelEisen it's Las Vegas...what do you expect when they host the finals in a NIGHT CLUB in LAS VEGAS?
The light only looks terrible on the camera because of the light contrasting issues. its pretty bright down there as the commentator also mentioned
good of the best

It's table tennis so what? And it's Las Vegas so what do you expect
They are turning TT into WWE😂😂
Crisan would have killed him if he was playing his usual self
Only you
Can't believe these guys knock out tao wen Zhang and other Japanese players.. This match is so boring
calvin feng I'm glad someone said it. They both looked very amateur to me. Completely whiffing at the ball at times.
calvin feng bullshits

Finally, someone who understands table tennis. The lights, the skills, their movements. I've seen amateurs much better than this.

the lighting in this place. ..get the eff out
I just spent an hour of my life watching pro ping pong.
Bonny you
Ha...still a good match even it's a low level.

Guapo may assistant umpire...hehehe
this is a joke
no offense but if these are the top players in Usa then my school is better than them
Harshill Dhingra Adrian Crisan made the 2012 Olympic Quarterfinal after beating Timo Boll and used to be ranked top 10 in the world...
oh cool. I didn't know about it. Was just commenting on the basis of this match. My apologies...
