Great watch! I did the same in September 2022. I picked up the panda dial in Aichi when the exchange rate was ¥135 to 1USD. I never thought that I would find one brand new, since Omega discontinued this version. So when I found it at a department store there, I jumped on it right away. Also picked up an Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph that I wasn't even looking for but got a great deal on!
@keithw361 I had been looking for this version of the Speedy Racing for a while, so for me, I'd go with the Speedmaster over the Aqua Terra. I ended up with both, which is ideal for me. The Speedmaster isn't good in the water, no screw down crown. I wouldn't take it in the water. If that's that's a concern for you, go for the Aqua Terra. I actually wear the Speedy, way more than the Aqua Terra. Most days, I'm not worried about getting into the water, so it works for me. Can't go wrong with either one. Good luck!
Hi, thanks for sharing the video. I'm thinking of purchasing this watch, but I'm concerned about the reflective quality of the hands. I presume this due to the steel finishing applied. Have you noticed any prominent reflections from the watch hands in day to day use? and has it been an issue for you? Thank you.
Sorry for late reply! I have not noticed any glaring issues. Definitely has a reflective surface but nothing too much so that'd cause issues in my opinion!
Got this one myself mainly since I don’t like going over 40mm, check out the midsize seamaster as they go somewhat “cheap” (~&1800) nowadays and that 36mm size is quite good.
That's not the moonwatch. That's the speedmaster racing 40mm. They come in diff colors. That's an automatic with a 7750 variant movement. moonwatch is handwind and totally different movement the 1861/3861 . Nice piece though. Love it, got a different color variant of that. 🎉
You are 100% correct! Should've provided more clarity there as the professional lines are indeed technically the "Moonwatches" Will update title to be more specific. Agreed nonetheless still a grail due to the brand history and overall design being so iconic. Appreciate the education on it haha, always looking to learn!
Yo! Used to watch you WAY back in like 2006 when you made tutorials and XP tweaking stuff. Cool to still see you active
So cool to see/hear that!
Appreciate ya checking and hope you've been well. Appreciate the support over the decade + !
Hi Adrian, can you recommend a store/location in Tokyo for purchasing grand seiko watches?
I have the same one, love it. Time for the long term review

How do you compare it to the aqua terra? Looking at either a speedy racing or an aqua terra currently

Hey man! Recently i just purchase exactly the same in Japan! Just wondering does your warranty card has a date on it?
Time for that long term review!
I have the same watch but on the rubber. Prefer it so give it a look. Good choice 😊

What was the reverse panda (white subdails black main dial) like in person? Looking at this one.
Very clean! Reminiscent of the Rolex Daytona to me and from afar could get mistaken for one. Either way can't go wrong!
@@adrian-c thanks Adrian. Was the finish good?
The Bond scene is hilarious. Who would mistake an Omega for a Rolex 😂
People who are non watch people will assume that any nice watch is a Rolex

@@adrian-c yes... I've got this 40mm racing too the yellow variant. They actually look very good in black rubber straps.
Best of luck
@@Mega-zi7ys Very nice! Any strap brand recs?
@@adrian-c i would recommend the OEM from Omega heheh
Better than the professional, better size , cheaper with much better tech in the watch being a co-axial automatic COSC
