    Thank you for these amazing exercises and I am a Muslim person, this morning I read the morning remembrance meaning the word of God and supplication and it is a spiritual energy source and an aura of protection. Then I did breathing exercises in this video, and I felt very comfortable that it is really amazing with the morning remembrance
    Thank you, thank you very much, connected from Saudi Arabia.

    Way to go Jake. Watching your videos is uplifting and a learning experience. I've seen the accusations that this isn't real but what is real is that learning and healing occur by watching your videos. I enjoy the tai chi videos too. You also give philosophy behind it which is helpful. Thanks for all you do.

    After all the training I've done, my ultimate aim - ironically - is just to be able to relax in the lotus sitting position for 30 minutes. I'm recovering from an old-ish injury that makes the lotus position uncomfortable in my hip and oblique. I can do a proper horse stance for 1 minute - but that's different, that's just pain (though it would be cool if I could practically levitate doing it).

    Mr Mace, I started following one of your introductory Tai Chi instructional videos four months ago. Hardly a day has passed that I haven’t done the routine. Some days I do a shortened version before going to bed as well.
    I noticed straight off that standing up from a seated position became easily doable . I noticed in the instructions that people should strive do each stance several minutes. Currently, I repeat the poses twenty five minutes each.
    Of late I have noticed movement in and around my lower spine. It’s as if the skeletal (bones ) are adjusting themselves. The first time it occurred I was concerned and wondered if back discomfort would happen. I’m glad to report it hasn’t, but I am curious about whether this is a normal effect when doing daily sessions of Tai Chi?
    Thanks for your videos

    • @loaibishara537
      @loaibishara537 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bartek Kuropka Taekwondo, anything is better than shotokan.
      If you want to go karate I advice you to go Gujoryu/Shitoryu.
      Or just go kyukshin.

    • @TaoistSwordsman
      @TaoistSwordsman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bartek Kuropka I would advise you to speak to both instructors, take into account how far away each one is from home. Honestly, as long as they don't train like idiots, and are practising safely, aside from that it really doesn't matter what you train unless you want to get into a certain sport.

    • @williamleitz3551
      @williamleitz3551 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bartek Kuropka, I do traditional shotokan karate and I love it, it utilizes strong stances and devastating punches along with kicks it's a great martial art but when I'm done with it I'll go on and do kung fu, bc nearly all Asian martial arts originate from kung fu so it is definitely a martial art to consider, but shotokan is a very good base to start on it will teach you not to waist or flail your punches/attacks, but the main decision is if you would rather focus on kicks (tae kwon do "foot first way") or punches (karate "empty hand") (although karate is a good mixture of both)

      Snoop Dogg様 It depends on what it is that one is looking for and what 道場(どうじょう) dojo(s) are in their area. I myself have trained more in the 那覇手(なはて) Naha Te branch of Karate (Uechi Ryu Karate, Isshin Ryu and Goju Ryu) but the 首里手(しゅりて) Shuri Te branch is good also. And 極真会館空手 or Kyokushin Kai Karate which has both Naha Te and Shuri Te 形(かた) Kata or forms is also a good style. It has a strong focus on the sport fighting aspect of 空手道 Karate-Do.

    What does the circular rubbing on your lower back do?

    • @AndrewPlitt
      @AndrewPlitt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a fairly common thing to do at the end of a Qigong training session. I have not seen it done using the back of the wrists before, but that seems like a reasonable way of doing it. Often it is done with the backs or sides of the hands, with the hands held as fists. There are several ideas about what it does. The main ideas are that it helps activate acupuncture points, massage the muscles of the low back, and massage the kidneys.

    I would like to star with MA, but I'm struggling to chose between Tai chi and Aikido. Any tips?

    • @AndrewPlitt
      @AndrewPlitt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can find a Tai Chi place that focuses a lot of attention on partner training and push hands, that would be a great place to start, but most places teach Tai Chi in a way that will only be useful martially if you have prior martial arts training. The first art I studied was Aikido and I loved it. everything they do is partner training and you learn to flow with your training partners in a way that con complement Tai Chi training later. Not all Aikido dojos are created equal, though, and you will want to take the time to find one that focuses on good technique and not just flow. If you have several options in your area look up reviews for each one and see if you can do some free lessons and ask the sensei questions to get a feel for the place. I hope that was helpful and I wish you all the best in your martial arts journey.

      Yoga, tai chi, and qi gong are very much similar. Yoga is static form of meditation. Tai chi and qi gong are dynamic form of meditation...And besides..you can't SEE real tai chi...it is meant to be practiced and experienced. A prejudiced mind cant achieve a meditative state. One needs an exploratory mindset.

      Respectfully David, Look at the video title. It says moves, not forms. I suspect his approach is he just wanted people to get moving and enjoy themselves.

      I studied the first two forms of tai chi chuan twenty years ago, Yang style, and loved it. This looks very much like it.
