Negan is a fictional character in the comic book series The Walking Dead and in the television series of the same name. He is the leader of a group of survivors in the Sanctuary, called the Saviors, a group that oppresses other survivor communities and forces them to pay tribute to him. In the comics, the character's appearance is based on Henry Rollins, as confirmed by Charlie Adlard;[1] Robert Kirkman worked in his excessive use of profanity, derived from other people he knew.[2] Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrays Negan in the television series of the same name and first appeared in the series' sixth-season finale.[3]
After Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors agree to begin a trading relationship with the Hilltop Colony, they are ambushed by the Saviors and are forced to obey Negan's orders to give the Saviors half of their supplies, as the other communities do. Initially obedient, Rick and the others secretly conspire with other communities in the Washington, D.C. area to prepare for war against the Saviors. Negan resides in an abandoned factory, where most of the attractive women-formerly other men's girlfriends or wives-act as his wives. He soon grows fond of Rick's son, Carl Grimes. After his defeat against the allied communities led by Rick, he is incarcerated for years until Rick recruits him as a reluctant ally against the Whisperers.
Morgan has received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Negan in the television series upon his debut, earning himself the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series,[4] MTV Movie Award for Best Villain,[5] and Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role on Television.[6] When offered the role of Negan, Morgan immediately accepted as he was already a fan of The Walking Dead.[7]

@@sergior8667 Negan does, in a way, become a good person in the comics. The show does portray him friendlier than the comics so I wouldn't doubt that Negan sticks around for a bit and helps Alexandria.

A walker is easy, you can push him away, you can outrun it. Try to outrun a dog or push it away when its mauling through your guts & you have no weapon. People get more easily killed by dogs then you think. Sometimes even by „normal“ ones, not a fucking pit like in the scene

Negan is one of my favorite characters from any show ever. The acting is spot on. To this day we still don’t know what he’s really about. He’s the big bad wolf and santa claus at the same time in a very unpredictable way.

Negan was worse than the Governor...but better. I hated what he did. Yet Negans relationship with Judith, his love for Carl and visibly sorry he was when he learned he died, and his relationship with Judith has totally redeemed him. My favorite was his saving Judith and the dog...then he said "language Ms. Grimes"...while saving them both! While he was hurt! This was after Judith said "you look like shit!"
