Well I heard Simon was a show original and not in the comics. And Dwight was married and much older then highschool. Then again, maybe they made some new stand alone comic showing a flashback with all 3 when they were younger.
The writers had to kill Simon to make Negan lose.

Personally, i found Simon being one of the best things to enjoy when the Saviours were introduced. He was not only the bad man, but his violent and commanding nature had some really enjoyable moments. Most of the time i was just happy to see him as i see Negan, the bad guy who thinks they are The Boss, and that nothing can hurt them.
I was upset that he died but he needed to die, not because Negan would lose, but because in the end he would still try to keep fighting Rick until he was eventually killed as he was here.
Rip Simon, you were an enjoyable and fantastic antagonist
To be fair, if Negan kept trying and had numerous chances against Rick, he likely would have won. He's a smarter leader and can and had handled Rick twice in one on one situations.

Seeing Simon as a walker reminds me how difficult it must've been to survive early on during the initial spread. walkers not rotten but full of energy and highly durable compared to today's shambling rotten skeletons.
I thought it was cool that Negan actually gave Simon a fair 1v1 fight. He could've just had Simon executed in any number of ways, but he showed everyone why he was the boss by handling that the way he did.
Fun fact Trevors name was supposed to be named Simon which makes this shit 10× better
Apart from his midlife crisis and/or real life problems, Steven Ogg is an amazing actor. I hope I can see a lot more of him for years to come, and he'd never lose his acting charms and humor. ❤❤❤

It was funny how Simon thought he was going to get away with everything he did plus trying to act as important as the boss no especially when negan knew what was going on.
I Really enjoyed watching the character of Simon. He wasn't ever short of spectacular n Always entertaining. U never knew what was the next funniest thing that was gonna come out of his mouth. He was also Ruthless AF, carelessly Reckless, but nevertheless Ruthless AF. That's exactly why that when Negan realized the change in Simon n he Already knew Simon was up to his old Grimy n Ruthless Way's n he was plotting on a take over. So Negan was like... YEP, It's about that time to say Night Night to Simon, cause Negan knew if anyone could turn a lot of the Saviors against him with some strong convincing. He new Simon was the one

I'll need to go back and check, but I swear Trevor didn't talk like this in his first couple appearances, his weird pattern of speaking cemented more and more as the character went on. And, coupled with Abraham and Eugene, this makes three characters in this show who speak in an uncommonly fast, verbose, overly idiomatic matter. At first I assumed it was a carryover from the comics, but having now read them, Abraham and Eugene speak pretty normally, and Simon doesn't exist.
I wonder who the screenwriter is, and if any of his other work has characters with weird speech patterns.
