    Not only is Don my favourite SAFC player of all time, but my first Black hero as a child, as I'm sure he was to many others. If I ever met him I'd probably cry, that's how much I looked up to him as a kid. In an era when racism was rife in the NE, his presence did more to combat the racism in the area than he could possibly know. Every white mackem kid had a picture of big bad Don on their bedroom wall. He totally changed my outlook on life and my attitude towards people with a different skin tone than my own. Love him to bits, always will. The number 8 will always remind me of the legend that is Don Goodman.

    One of the best podcasts I have watched. Don Goodman is a legend. Always enjoy listening to him on co-commentator duty, as he speaks with experience and so much sense. It was great to hear more about his career and he is so articulate with his description of stories. Some great research and questions to bring the best out of him as well. Great work chaps

    The Bradford City was & always be a bit of a forgotten tragedy. It never got the media attention it deserved. RIP the 56.

      @DaleyMayall 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't talk shite. It's had plenty of media attention over the years. Those watching football in those years don't forget it. And as a result of the tragedy there was an in depth review of old wooden stands at football grounds.

    Growing up in Wolverhampton (though it was well after Don played for us), we all knew who he was and how much he did for Wolves. Always a pleasure to see him about wolves town, well after he stopped playing for us also; visiting my primary school, spotting him often driving around in his merc with license plate 'd0n 1..something like that', bumping into him at wolves train station with bag full of papers on his way to commentate etc. etc. Everyone always reflects what a gent he is. He does a cracking job on SKY and great to hear more about his career, great podcast

    I'm not going to lie. I never saw Don Goodman play live. But, Don Goodman is without doubt from the last era of when footballers were.footballers. A great character of the game because you could see (and from a mile off) how much he wanted to win. Great interview. Would LOVE to see.you all get hold of Steve Bull,.another "Old Gold" LENGEND - A.F.C. fan

      Yes it's so good to see someone not playing the victim. My dad taught me Offence is given not taken it's a choice to be offended or not. I've never been offended in my life but I've also I've never had a full crowd abusing me I don't know if I could handle that so I have massive respect for how he took and and he has recognised it's changed now. Like he said stuff that people get offended about today is water off a ducks back to him

    Love Don Goodman, he took time when I was a kid to come into our coach after his game for West Brom at Blackburn, when our lads team had played a Blackburn youth team earlier on the day and then gone to watch the baggies beat Blackburn in the old league division 2 , and said a few inspiring words. Not many Pro’s would take time out after running for 90 minutes. Thanks Don 🙏

    Don & Tony Ford were my heroes for the baggies in the late 80's was gutted when he left for Sunderland , my first experience of supporting a club that usually sells it's best players couldn't umderstand why my hero had left , was even more gutted when he joined the Dingles, cracking player though

      We've ALWAYS done that; this is why we'll never build any sort of legacy. I remember being broken hearted when Laurie Cunningham left, then Bryan Robson, then the inevitable descent into mediocrity. Ron Saunders was one of the worst things to happen to us; he even sold Bully too, what at plank.
