Having played the game myself, I feel as though half of the commander experience is trying to gather your ducklings up after they over penetrate. I think if they made the default points of domination less agressive, it would make the experience a lot more streamlined.
In 1.0 the teams absolutely go far, far too deep into suites of rooms. It's cool that they can make some "ok it makes sense to clear this one little nook here if it's attached to the dining room" decisions, but they often barge their way solo into extremely outgunned situations without any input from the commander. Some sort of "okay, clear so far, keep clearing the suite" command would be useful.
I was just thinking that today! In a lethal obsession the quarters are so tight and there’s so many hidden vantage points and traps and I constantly have my guys rush in too quickly and get killed! Wish I could choose how deep they penetrate after entry
Genius idea with the wedges. I'd love for them to add a security team in the future that you can place at a location in the planning phase, then call into position once you've cleared to that point. Not having any external security or lane coverage really makes these unorthodox. Even an external sniper team like Doorkickers would be great.
An external sniper team like SWAT4 had nearly twenty years ago is a bare minimum. This game could've built upon that with so many things like: Distribute smoke or chemical agent trough the level in missions like these. Have helicopter or plane fly by to distract/confuse enemies. having control of blinds (Valley of the Dolls, anyone?) or security camera's, Cutting power to plunge night maps in darkness. etc etc etc. At present time, even shooting lights won't put them out and even having an officer warn you of enemies on rooftops is too much to ask. Just stick your head out and risk getting shot in the face in 0,15 seconds... Drones, UGV's,

23:15 you checked the toilet, reported the suspect down, and moved on. I think that's the guy who spawned out of nowhere on your back in 27:21. Now suspects sometimes play dead, and stand up if you don't cuff them
I died om this level with my ironman... Cleared the mission. Last door was a closet door with a hostage. Tried to push the door, locked. Hostage inside freaked and swinged the door... it had a trap on it...
Commenting so I remember to watch this later on This map is fucken rough. First hallway after breaking out of the stairwells can make or break your whole run. Ask me how I know lmao
The first door was a squad wipe for two of my runs. I did learn after the first one, that is until I forgot when I started up the game the next morning.
I’m loving your Ironman playthrough! The steaks are high, it’s so intense. I also use voice attack for this game. I dressed my red team in red flannels and blue in blue so I can see which team is which.

Tried you strategy and wedged all around, was more deliberate, and it worked like a charm. Except AI team executed the third arrest I was about to make... oh well
I died about 10 times on this level over a few irl days and had to take an extended break from the game because I was frustrated haha. A couple times the AI literally just outgunned me, another time we were almost secure and I just walked into a trap. I have to say, seeing you've not made more of this playthrough yet I watched this really thinking you'd die here too! Well done for surviving.
I've started ironman campaign after finishing most of the maps on S it practise mode. The only ones i've had were last 3 or 4 maps. And i died on the server missing, classic RoN AI. It got posses by John Wick and wallbanged me. Also game crashed at the same time. This is how i figured out you can abuse ironman mode by crashing the game if you die or one of your bots died. After that it was super easy to finish the campaign. So yeah now, i'm killing machine. Rush in, kill everyone on sight ask questions later. Shotguns are great for that. I've never felt better shooting at someone and yealling hands up to the headless body.
Anyone else find it amusing how we can put combat grips and other grips on the weapons but the animations for the NPCs and player never actually use them?

23:15 was the guy your team incapacitated with C2, but got back up and shot you later since he wasn't restrained. for some reason C2's don't "kill" but incap instead...
@@isaacmacqueen9695 Sinuous trail was the bane of my existence. SOOOOO many entrances, even just getting the perimeter secured takes ages, then the inside is a maze with about a million different spots you can get one pixel of yourself spotted and domed with that cracked AI.
On my first attempt I breezed through this map just like you. I had a slightly different strategy, but got the same score though I do wish it was actually possible to arrest 3 suspects without going in with pepperballs or bean bags. On subsequent play throughs though I keep getting the full wrath of the aimbots, really hope they get toned down soon. You’ve got mindjot next, be prepared for AIs wallbanging you.
This is the hardest default mission. I have completed them all, but this one took me like 4 times to complete, kept getting myself killed. This one is just a bit tougher with all the doorways then the rest.

And unlike in SWAT4, wedges are re-usable. If you pick up a deployed wedge, it returns to your inventory for later use again.
Just saying your ai teammates aren’t affected by grenades and they can see in the dark, not sure about the ballistics mask though, I use it my team just in case it gives more protection
I went into this level for the first time yesterday, knowing it's kinda notorious I went with a FAL just to make sure if anyone shoots at me they're down for good 😂 Finished the map on my first run with one officer down but not dead and everyone else injured BUT it was an A so I'm quite happy with that haha
The residential stairs as an entry point is a flat out broken or missing feature. I've tried it and it still puts me at the fire escape. Don't know what other entry points throughout the game are non-functional. 1.0 indeed.

A tad late to the party but i cannot stress enough how good you make this look and like you said you have yet to sustain any loss of life within your teams. A+ in my book especially with 1. going in nervous asf with hearsay of difficulty in these missions and 2. That bogus friendly fire. If i may you do seem to move a bit too quickly for the team at times (pathing of the ai most likely) and giving yourself little to no room for error despite using voice commands that dont always function as optimally as they could. Watching this 2 months post release and unsure of additional missions I was scared your ironman playthru had taken a turn for the worst. I'm extremely happy to be disappointed in that regard gg bro
Can I know how you figured the queue command in voice attack; I did hold shift for 2 seconds folowed by the numbers on the app but it doesn't seem to work

Okay so I don't see why they're sending the police department to respond to this. They should be sending the based department. We need to take better care of our veterans and cutting funding isn't doing that.
Are the voice commands you are giving actually sending the commands to the AI or is it just for roleplaying and you actually hold down the middle mouse button and command them?
If this run is still legit all I can say is I'm eager to see you play Greased Palms and good luck. I'll be honest I'm skeptical this is still legit though...
He's using voiceattack, but you might want to explore Tacspeak as a potential alternative: it's free and specifically pre-configured for RON. One of its notable advantages is the quick setup process, eliminating the need to train Windows voice recognition with your own voice. Tacspeak performs exceptionally well straight out of the box. Numerous comments highlight its superior performance, and personally I've also found it to work better than VA for me. Both the VA profile he's using and Tacspeak are available on Nexus mods.

Might be realistic to have normal duty officer AI who occupy cleared spaces but can still be overwhelmed by more heavily armed suspects

Maaan when I went to clear the center room I had two dudes behind the bar, both rocking SAWs and apparently *very* upset I didn’t pay the cover.

Nah it works, just looks similar. The second entry is if you come out the fire escape one, go left past the vending machines, then past the elevators
They also advertised trailers coming into the map to physically secure detained civvies and suspects but I have yet to see them in my campaign run.

Think he's using a program called VoiceAttack that translates voice commands into macros. Either he or Karmakut has a video about it.
I use the same program, it's really great. I would never play ready or not without it.
