Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

@@farmmouse3011 well companies sell tracks for side by sides and that’s what the engine is out of🤷♂️ it’s a 1000cc prolly pushin close too 200hp so I don’t think it’s gonna really rob any power maybe 20hp
Hey grind hard. And I'd like to see next. A light bar just below the hand grips on the world's smallest snow bike. Studs on the tracks which you can do with a hot nail and a pair of pliers.
I made a ski to replace front wheels on bicycles and found the steering works best if the tail of the ski ends where the wheel would otherwise hit the ground. In other words, chop the ski off under the forks for the best handling. I could touch my handlebars to the snow making turns with my wheelski prototype. It also rotated to about 20 degrees in the front to follow the moguls and floated freely between flat and full incline. Frank Wadleton was making the final version but he ended up closing down and my wheelski never got produced. You should try it. The bike will handle amazing if you shorten the ski
9:40 "Happy medium" Good luck with that. The two components the need to be tightened both tighten in opposite directions and wear in opposite directions, so as the system wears you're going to have to hope that you can fudge the adjustment until it's worn enough to remove a link. I predict that you'll need to modify in an adjuster to the rear idler.
Whoa, isn't it a Colonel Sender on four friggin' tracks?! NGL, I'm highly impressed and eager to see that thing rippin! Keep it up guys, great content as always since barbie cart build! Cheers from Russia!

Oh and you should probably extend the rear fender. I suggest making a runner-up from the new swing arm you made for the track. Also using a flat piece of sheet metal as a mounting bracket.
while you "only" build fun toys to mess around, I just want to point out that very few people on this earth have Ethan's level of fabrication ingeniosity and skills. Keep it up man
First thing I said when I saw your ski brackets so far back is you're gonna stiffen the suspension and bend the forks/head if you hit something adding that leverage behind the forks... and then I saw the end... they need to be inline for the forks to function properly and not add damage if you hit something.
Should done both tracks from the snowblower ... more traction and more stable but biggger motor to spin them sooo I guess that wouldn’t make it the smallest lol
Please try out to balance the pivot point of the ski. Right now i guess its stopping it from getting faster in deeper snow. Because the tail is to short and sinks in more than the tip, thus generating unnecessary resistance. Fun Video and Craftsman-Ship. Thanks
What I would do is Mount one end of the shock to the cross section of the fork where it mounts to the rest of the frame. obviously not on the hinge.and then the other end of the shock on the front of the ski so that it can still pivot but not dangerously so.
Sweet, take this one up another notch, add a second motor and a second track. Extend the back some, put the dual motors behind and under the rider with the dual tracks as narrow as possible. It will add stability, add traction, and add power! May be able to adjust the sprocket ratios to get more top speed and still keep the low-end torque needed!
Awesome.😍.. Would be the best thing for my kid to ride with me in the winter time... We have it all.., except for the track and the ski for the front. Thanks for the vid. This wil help me out allot
This thing is awesome the bogging could be because there is no airfilter on it I noticed in the video and to help traction you guys coul take every second lug out of the track keep up the goo work guys 🤙🏼grind hard🤙🏼
You guys need to put something like a CVT drive from a scooter on it. Make sure you upgrade the clutch to twin plate and put some super light throw out weights and that thing will be a beast! You'll gain take off power and top speed because you can then afford to make the final drive sprocket a fair few teeth smaller. It will allow the small fly wheel to pick up rpm before gripping with the clutch! It should give you much more "power band effect"
The moment Grind Hard gets a waterjet or plasma table, it’s game over for all other garage fab channels!

If you remove every other tread on the track it should get more traction . Cool build
