- This is a drawing table made for someone who majored in art and is an architectural designer.
While making the table, I added a drawer, so it took a long time to make it.
The table angle can be set to five basic settings, and additional fine adjustment is possible with [low angle]
It was designed so that blocks can be inserted and removed from the groove.
There was no video of the block manufacturing process set at a low angle during the production process. Perhaps it was omitted due to the long production period. sorry

Im a draftsman and that table is a work of art, i would love to have a table like that for sketching. I learned to draw on a table similar to that back in the 70's. well done!

That is an elegant, beautiful piece. I learned two things from this video today: 1 - doweling small parts that might snap off along the grain, and 2 - your trick of the 45-degree bracing put in after the frame is assembled, with the matched key... both of which are simple and so obvious I'm not sure why that's not occurred to me.

The dowel added to the upstands to strengthen against splitting with the grain was a very nice touch and I will use that in the future. Good engineering principles applied in wood.

Oh that varnish is something else....I love staining and varnishing stuff, just because it's like magic when the wood changes color and texture under your hands.
I like the oil finish, but due to the nature of the table, it is vulnerable to contamination, so I use an additional varnish finish.
In particular, Varatan water-based varnish allows you to choose a gloss and has good film quality.
What an Awesome craftsmen! I also learned what has never occurred to me before is to strengthen the keys with dowels. Great job!

I like the small planing stop to size the splines. I have a planing stop on my bench but it won't work with pieces that thin.
It's a little difficult to interpret. I think it's about splines. Please tell me how many minutes and seconds it is and I'll answer.

Absolutely lovely piece. Theres something romantic about furniture that nod's to traditional types of work. I'm not talking about the desk being handmade, but the fact that it's made for someone who probably use a pen and not just a computer.
It contains a lot of the intentions and thoughts of the person who requested the request.

At first i was thinking, "why dowel and flush cut?" But it was obvious when i realised they were the support blocks for the 'stand'.

i recently dowelled small parts to avoid them snapping along the grain like you're doing here. The difference is I did that after two snapped! didn't have the foresight to do it before.
