Once I saw the opening hands to get an idea of power level, there was only one way that deck was going to go IMO. There was definitely an imbalance of power levels at that table, not least of which Mazirek is so easy to build with a ton of synergy. Without any opponents playing black/white for unconditional creature removal, they needed to focus on Mazirek or just lose to inevitability.
I played against a Svella deck the other day that laid low for most of the game and then suddenly went basically infinite in like 2 turns. Turns out copying an ability that makes free mana rocks is crazy.
why is the svella deck not listed? ive seen miguel play the same deck on the show before and i really want to know the build to give me inspiration to make my own dino svella
Even accepting the dislike for discard, I couldn't understand why Miguel spent that game hating on Kevin. Mana screwed and not the highest powered deck seems like a real bad choice to stomp on compared to the other two commanders.
They get to draw too! It just replaces! But yeah it happens, people hate discard to an unreasonable amount. I've played my Zurzoth against a Nekusar player who had 14 cards in hand and was getting domed by another player's angel commander every turn but he focused me down anyway because he couldn't stand discarding.
Was there a theme to the Svella deck? Seemed interesting with the Mana Crypt & common cards. At 1st I thought it was commons+uncommons only, until he played Ruric Thar
playing dreadmaw and Mana crypt in the Same Deck is Like eating a goldet lobster from a 5 Star Restaurant and drinking a middle large Coke from Mc Donalds to it :D
After the initial cast it looks like they only got up to 7 mana before the end of the game and Birgi wasn’t on board. Ruric Thar was also on board until the last couple turns of the game. Not sure what flashing it back would accomplish.

I have been thinking about making a Mazirek deck for a bit and this makes me want to even more. Love it. Like a "fair" Korvold.
They are both good. But Mazirek is awesome for going wide as well. He is one of my win-cons in y Griss the hunger Tide insect deck.
Mazirek is someone i’ve been planning on building for a while now and i can’t wait to put it together

The only time I've beaten him is when I had 3 fogs and a boros artifact deck ally.
