@@MTGMuddstah Buy them in Europe ;) After listening to your comment I went straight to cardmarket, and you can definitely buy it foil there. I'm not sure about the shipping fees though!
The correct Tempting Contract play is to always not create a treasure token and if all other opponents do the same then the person that played it literally spent 4 mana on nothing
In theory. But when one other person _really_ wants that one more mana for their haymaker, it hurts to be left behind. Then the tragedy of the commons / prisoners' dilemma begins.
It's a very unique card with a game altering effect for just you. Sometimes you forget because that's very different from how the game is normally played.

If you focus on reanimation/graveyard shenanigans, he's a great enabler. One fun line of play I did once was play Gyruda, mill a clone, repeat 2-3 times, then Spelltwine a removal card from my graveyard and someone else's milled Rise of the Dark Realms. Toss in a lot of reanimator effects and things that let you play instants/sorceries from graveyards and you'll have some good soup I think.
@@thyronebennett1170 Yeah, I've currently got him as a demon tribal build and Living Death is just gas in that deck. Nothing like reanimating 8 or 9 high cmc demons to slap face with.
Hey Andrew, Gyruda is one of my absolute favorite decks to pilot. Some advice if you wanna keep it: Try and only run even cmc creatures, with only maybe 2 or 3 not being even cmc. The only non-even cmc ones in my deck are Agent of Treachery and Peregrine Drake. The former is just a silly effect to get multiple clones of and the latter is part of an infinite combo to close out long games.
Reckless Fireweaver is already a fun feature in my Daretti deck. I'm working on Prosper; I'll have to throw one in there as well. Thank goodness I hold onto my draft chaff.
I would also suggest adding in Academy Manufactor as well. The extra value of generating a Food and Clue with very Treasure is nice, and if you can get all three on the board; it triples the Fireweaver's ping damage with each Prosper treasure.
Oh man...don't give up on Gyruda! He's one of my all time favorite (and strongest) decks. You really have to ramp tho...gotta mulligan out of any opening hands that have no ramp with him. With all of the treasure token making effects nowadays, Reckless Fireweaver is one of those common cards that will be hard to find and everyone will need to dig through their bulk piles to track down.
I feel that on not being able to find foils of cards. I have one deck that I plan to foil out, but it has commander-only cards in it, so that's likely never going to happen :(
Reckless Fireweaver is the nuts. it actually made me take apart my Pirates, him, Malcom, and any type changing effect was game, and i wasnt a fan of how easy it was. same with the Mintaur pirate.
Loved the video! Especially the Breena deck, I really love him as a commander. I was wondering if that deck list is going to be published as well? The stax-y lifegain really made me want to build something similar!
Breena triggers when a player attacks one of your opponents that has more life than another. Daniel attacking John and Andrew (both had more life than Madison) triggers Breena twice.
I run gyruda and in my opinion you didn't use the graveyards enough. Gyruda and clones are the engine for filling graveyards and your other spells should be getting value out of someone's grave. Geth mills opponents more and let's use their grave. Lazav becomes nasty creatures. Wrexial gains value. Dreadhound is an even costed Konrad (Edit: Primordials are good too but cost 7)
Is breena able to draw more then once a combat? The wording is "whenever a player attacks another player vs whenever a creature attacks a player " so im not sure it triggers per creature vs per attack step
If you attack two opponents who have more life than the third one, it's possible to get two triggers in a single combat. Obviously, this is only possible for Breena's controller.
Since Breena reads "Whenever a player attacks one of your opponents" and not "attacks one or more opponents", it would potentially trigger for each defending player as long as those defending players each meet the requirements. So in a typical 4 player game, it can trigger up to twice per combat. I say 2 triggers in a 4 way game, because it only triggers if the defending player(s) have more life than at least one of your opponents, so it won't trigger for your lowest life opponent being a defending player. It also doesn't count you, the controller of Breena, at all, so really it can trigger twice in your combat and only once during your opponents'.
I'm pretty sure there were about 3-4 Breena misplays, but other than that great video. Breena is super hard to pilot and you have to pay attention to so much
I'm very confused by John's treasure math at the end. After casting the commander's sphere, he has 12. He then spends 2 plus 2 lands (4) to activate the theater. Then he takes 9 treasures off and taps two mana rocks to cast Marionette Master, which should only cost 6, not 11. I don't know if that wins, but it should have been a total of 28 damage to pass around with the Master, no?
Hey Muddstah. Great video as always! Tempting contract is a may ability, so why was everyone taking the treasure or was there a misunderstanding?
