i guess more research on how to create compressed hydrogen in a smaller facility with lesser energy used.

Alternatively to your (fewer but reliably working stations) idea, I'd like to see a home H2O to H2 generator/compressor. Not sure if those small dive tank compressors have enough pressure to half-fill your tanks? Oh noes, H2 leaks, we're all gonna die! As I work on my gas appliances... 😊

There's a cool view of the motor & tanks on Out Of Spec Reviews channel (2 weeks ago). Didn't realize they are rear-wheel drive! Thanks again for sharing your experience. All the negative energy in the comments is hilarious, so it's interesting to see positive progress in fuel cell adoption for a change.

2:25 I'm working on it. short version is a "Co-Op hydrogen supply chain" but I don't have enough people to do that. so for now, I'm just trying to make parts.

Still can’t believe that the Chevrolet Malibu will no longer be manufactured after this year.

You're hanging in there with a hydrogen powered car. You're a brave man.

I see hydrogen cars going away in a few years. Nobody is really buying them right now. There are not enough fueling stations to travel long distances. Stations that do exist are down and not working half of the time. Hydrogen prices are way too high. Takes a lot of electricity to make hydrogen, then you need to transport, store the hydrogen in super high pressure tanks, which is very dangerous. I just don't think hydrogen is the right choice.

WRT stations "not working half of the time", it is true for certain regions, but not for all. WLA down to South Bay (SoCal) is bad as is Sacramento and San Francisco, but Burbank to Mission Hills is good. Also certain areas of Orange County and San Jose is generally doing well. I use Baldwin Park and it has been very reliable for me.

There isn't really a solution to hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, short of permanently subsidising it. It's just not economically competitive with the other zero tailpipe emission alternative, BEVs.

Hydrogen stations cannot generate a sensible ROI due to the high investment cost (tech & installation) and prohibitive as well as frequent maintenance cost (due to safety requirements and sketchy reliability). Furthermore, the hydrogen cost and delivery fees are very high, too, thus there are very few customers for the used FCEV market, making it very tricky to sell a used FECV. Since many companies owning and/or running these stations trying to abandon these stations globally for the troubles and high cost, there are no obvious solutions. In Europe, H2 fueling operators have pulled out of the UK and Danmark, already, and the plans by the EU to build several new fueling stations in many European countries do not find the required investors and operators - because there is no chance for any sensible ROI. As long as the tech/fueling stations and the fuel do not come significantly cheaper all this will become the dead end for passenger cars. And as I remember Toyota has stated to abandon FCEV passenger cars in favor of investments in FCEV commercial vehicles and trucks.

Toyota are not abandoning FCEV passenger cars. Toyota announced they were expanding into commercial vehicles and people assumed they were abandoning passenger cars.

Thank you for documenting your journey. I really think hydrogen can be successful but they need to push it and the businesses need an incentive to do that. It's still better than battery ev.
