Kinda funny how the most alien looking Elder Dragon in the MH-Verse turns into the most simple-looking dragon.

If an elder dragon looks like something genuinely out of fantasy in the game it might be difficult but eventually you'll be able to handle it
However if an elder dragon looks like your typical average dragon get ready cause that is probably going to be an ungodly powerful enemy

This dragon is not from their world, it must be an alien from another dimension
It’s honestly uncanny really, the most strange and alien creature turned to something that you wouldn’t really care if it wasn’t the adult form, plus if you break some parts of it like the horns you can still see the weird extra eyes.
@MisterioXXX OcultoXXX We've more or less explored most land, the only place I can think of that we cant would be the amazon rainforest, in terms of ocean, of course we haven't explored much at all, but something like a dragon would be very unlikely to find in the sea, let alone even exist, since all land vertebrates are quadrupeds, maybe If it evolved from a fish though it could be possible. The sky on the other hand isn't even a question, there are no hidden spots in our atmosphere, everything you see is everything you'll ever get.
So yeah, a dragon probably doesn't exist, barring the fact that things like fire breath and sizes that large on land would be nearly impossible, we just don't have any evidence for any of it, I guess the ocean is a possibility, but anything living there would probably be much different from what we imagine as a dragon. That said, there are some pretty cool animals out there, I wouldn't be surprised if we found something like a wiggler or a bullfango in the dense forests of south america, or a rachnoid deep in the sea

Instead of gaining more time it’s just a 20m fight where safi proceeds to heal less and less and most players can take him out with just the first and second layer drained, two just need about half the third to kill him

Also there is no level 6 there’s reward level 6 (your participation) but there’s actually just Zone 1-3 energy and that’s it

I have noticed that big creatures in fiction seems to have the ability to vanish at will so they can jump out and ambush there targets or get away. So it is a VERY valid concern.

Xpgamer Jr fatalis looks like a dragon from mythology, safi is like a dragon as we’ve come to know in current day media (i.e. Smaug, Grigori, etc.)

A major part of the development, Saafi-Jiiva may look like a regular dragon, but the more you fight it, the more you realize that it is just an abomination in the shape of a dragon.

Tediz Ursa I mean technically it isn’t a reference rather a misread lyric but then again Kira Yoshikage from part 8 is also a simple gentle sailor that uses a thousand bombs to blow up cancer cells, tsunamis, and other things and yet the only thing safijiva doesn’t do here is fight the ocean

Safi'jiiva is a muscular dragon with the strength and speed of a superhuman. If they designed this battle where Safi jumps around, flies around and charges, this battle would be nearly impossible.

At first, I could see no similarity between baby and adult. Then, after watching the siege, I managed to discern multiple similarities between the two:
-Xeno'jiiva is apparently able to shed its skin, like a lizard. After many, many sheds, its appearance would slowly, gradually change to what we see now as Safi'jiiva.
*-Same feet.* They both have almost hand-like feet, the toes kept curled up.
*-Safi' uses attacks that Xeno' could,* as well as some new, greatly improved variations, implying that Xeno' gained supreme control over its previously-sloppy attack style, and has full knowledge of its destructive capability. The laser beam, for example, has evolved from a massive ray of light to a deeply-concentrated, slicing beam of energy.
*-They are both still glowsticks.* While not as prominent as its baby form, Safi' still retains shimmering scales that radiate the signature blue-white energy, mostly on the chest and the edges of its wings. They appear to be patterned in a way that make them look like constellations.
*-Their eyes both glow orange.* If you didn't know, or just couldn't tell/see it, Xeno'jiiva only has one pair of eyes. They're the bottom-most orange lights. Everything else are false eyes; sensory organs designed to detect bio energy. Safi's eyes are in the same place, and glow bright orange when enraged.
-Speaking of the orange spots, those are actually where Safi's smaller horns grew in! Instead of orange capsules, they grew into tiny horns running up Safi's head.
-Fun fact: “Xeno’jiiva” roughly translates to “alien life-form” (Xeno- = alien, unearthly; Jīva = biological), and “Safi’jiiva” translates to “pure, perfect life-form” (Saf/Safi- = pure/clear).
fun fact: If you break safi's head, the sockets that held xenos six sensory organs(the fake eyes on the head)become visible
Kinda gross, but my personal theory is that Xeno is actually not the "baby" form, exactly. I think it's actually a fetus, born really immaturely. The way it looks, ignoring it's size, seems soft and unformed.
Dakota Jones I think it’s more like a butterfly. Xeno had been gestating for decades. He only emerged because Zorah Magdaros died nearby, and he sapped its massive energy to the point where he could fully form himself.
Xeno didn’t really _hatch,_ he just came out of a cocoon. The Xeno we see is so pale and translucent because, like a butterfly, he needs time to get blood and energy to his wings so they can dry out and harden. Once everything has hardened, he molts and molts and molts until he’s fully grown his scales in, becoming Safi
I think this is probably my favorite comment thread I've read in a while.
I feel as though Xeno’s soft, gooey exterior is there to keep the bit that will become Safi’s skin safe while it develops and hardens. Also, I don’t think that Xeno has a larval form, and that it is actually a newborn child when you first fight it, but that’s just what I think, and there’s no real way to know unless someone from Capcom comes out and clearly explains it.

Not really. This thing is pretty much a love letter to King Ghidorah, Smaug, and Grigori.

Xeno's color scheme was cooler, I kinda wish they kept the semi-translucent blue/firey orange look. Still looks incredible tho- reminds me of smaug

This channel always provide me the newest boss fight as soon as it possibly can.
The scary thing about Safi? It’s such a threat and powerhouse that it attracted *2* of the strongest elder dragons from past games _specifically_ to try and oust the damn thing. Alatreon wanted to kill the thing and wipe out its offspring because it saw it as an existential threat to the MH world as we know it, and the otherwise unchallenged Fatalis woke up purely to challenge this thing and see which of them was actually stronger… So basically this THING is _at worst_ the third strongest monster in the entire series (MAYBE 4th-5th if you count the Extreme Behemoth and Ancient Leshen monsters, and that would be fair considering outside-context crisis situations like these tend to end civilizations the way a period ends a sentence.), with a proven ability to grow into the first strongest if the circumstances of its development ever arranged themselves JUUUUUSSST right.
Neither behemoth or ancient leshen are even comparable to safi jiiva,also,he wouldn't be near the 3rd strongest monster if we count fatalis subespecies and Frontier black dragons
Extremoth and Ancient Leshen is no match to Safi. He is probably the 2nd strongest monster.

or it's just a smart move on the devs to use the Red Dragon to make the Black Dragons appear because they don't wanna draw connections between Alatreon and Fatalis cuz if that happened they won't be as mysterious anymore.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought Safi'Jiva heavily resembles Dragon's Dogma's antagonistic dragon.
Then again, both games were created by Capcom, so it's not entirely impossible to borrow or recreate monster designs from scrapped ideas by other departments. Hell, Itsuno has already done it with DMC V (The first boss Nero comes across, Goliath, is based on a rejected design for Daimon in Dark Arisen)
Everything about this fight from the music to the attacks and even Safi itself is so damn beautiful.

To be fair World isn't really a hard MH so he should be fine playing it.
When I saw this the first time I went along with the research team "it's the adult xeno" and after a while I started to notice some things. I think this is what xeno would've looked like without the elder recess interference. If Xeno got to adulthood I'm sure it would look entirely different. I think all XJ have the ability to adapt to their environment and someone said in a video that there were more hatched eggs which means MH may have a BIG Xeno problem in the future.
Nah there good, there are already a lot of big Monsters so thouse few Xenos shouldn't do much.

Considering the beam attacks are concentrated bio-energy absorbed from dying creatures and the planet itself, that's not exactly an untrue statement.
Living things and the Earth produce radiation IRL; it's just low energy and doesn't negatively effect us. The MH universe takes biological concepts and super charges them.

He could barely reach the head do you really think he isn’t aware of what you’re saying lol? forelegs are easy dmg spots not to mention beams are being shot out of Safi’s face all the time
Yeah it’s not really viable to just target this things head. Not to mention it has a higher chance of targeting you if you attack the head which if you have a hammer is troublesome.
Fallen Sully which is why you communicate to someone to flinch shot it if you don't want him on you
Yeah but the monster will always face WHOEVER he focuses. Which means you still can’t attack the head directly because you will still get caught in the crossfire. Besides I don’t think Safi get get stunned normally like other monsters only flinched (not flinch shot to be clear) and you don’t actually want him stunned cause then he’s not draining energy all in all it’s inconvenient and unnecessary to aim for his head except to get his attention.
Head is really hard to reach, especially with Hammer. Best spot is hindlegs unless it's knocked down, then yes go to head. Alternatively if you have enmity you can ledge hop with Hammer and hit it's head

Since we finally have a more modern looking Western Dragon in Monster Hunter can we get the Serpent like Eastern (Long) Dragons, specifically the Flying, Storm Calling ones.
