    I have been told the same thing!!! I have a large thyroid nodule and all the doctors I've been to have told me that "THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO" and I will need to have it removed. None of them gave me any advice at all! They did not tell me anything about how to save my thyroid - only remove it! I'm so angry that they are doing this. We don't want to have surgery when we can save our thyroids! Thank you for being brave enough to share your story. OF course, I had NO IDEA about this surgery until coming across your video! I had no idea that there was an alternative - no thanks to my (several) doctors who have not helped me in the slightest with anything, but have only told me to get it tested again in a year and have surgery to remove it and then go on sythetic pills the rest of my life. No thanks! I want real solutions that save my thyroid! We should all be angry that endocronologists don't do a damn thing to help their patients and start demanding that they help us. I've had to spend hours, months, and years doing my own research. If they really cared about their patients they would do more than say "there is nothing I can do for you but completely remove it surgically."

      The number of drs offering RFA is growing all the time. So hopefully, in the near future, this will become more common and accepted!

    Jennifer, I am so glad o found your video! My regular ENT has been telling me I need to have half of my thyroid removed due to a large benign nodule that continues growing. After some research I learned about RFA, and finally found a doctor (out of state) that does the procedure and would look at my records. I learned today that I’m a candidate (wohoo!), and I have a telehealth appointment scheduled with him next week. I’d have to fly across the country, but it’d be worth preserving my thyroid. Anyway, so glad I found someone who has experienced it, and I’m looking forward to reading about the experiences of others in the Facebook group (just requested access). Thank you for sharing about your experience!

    Thank you for posting this information. I was scheduled for surgery on 12/5. I have normal thyroid levels, and I was concerned surgery would throw my levels off. During my pre-op visit my doctor offered RFA which I’m scheduled for on 12/17. Your results really give me comfort I made the right decision to avoid the surgery.

    Please don’t stop talking about it. Watching your video is the only reason I knew I had options. I have suffered for over two years under the worse conditions while doctors have dismissed and overlooked my illness. I had to forced my doctors to give me a scan and that’s the only reason I discovered that I had 5 nodules and all were over 1cm. Two are 3.5cm. I was still told that the nodules were not causing my breathing until recently. The last suggestion was to have it removed although mine are benign. This has affected my life, family, and marriage. You are a blessing. God willing I will be able to get the process done.

    How much does RFA cost?

    • @ItsmeJenagain

      It varies widely from one provider to another. Please contact them directly to inquire. We have a list of known providers in the Save Your Thyroid FB community. Link in the description.

    Should/can I get this done for a benign goiter?

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is intended to treat nodules. If you only have an enlarged thyroid, the treatment wouldn't work.

    that is not true...its not 2/3 benign...its 90% bening..

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct that 95 percent of nodules are benign. What the statistic I quoted said was that in thyroidectomies, 2/3 come back benign after surgery. Of course, at this point its too late! So, the point is to avoid thyroidectomies when possible because most of them are done unnecessarily.

    Hey jen after 2 years of researches and hanging on not doing the surgery i was searching about the radio-frequency and was doubting that it exists here in lebanon because nobody has talked about doing this dor their nodules. Today i called certain big hospital where i found on the internet that they do have RFA but the woman on the reception said that there is this technic usedon the other parts of body and not the nodules. Then she asked the radiologist and came back saying that i should wait 2 months because they're traveling to learn how to use this technic on the neck. I was excited but nervous at the same time that i will be the 1st patient maybe to do it here.. I know you're far away but i need a friend that has made thru this to talk to..can we ralk on fb

    • @mariasaliba8504
      @mariasaliba8504 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ans one more question Should the specialist doctor of thyroid do the RFA or can the radiologist do it? Bcz they told me the radiologist is traveling for conventions about this
