Broooo, I've watched this scene sooo many times over the years. It still fills up my eyes every. Single. Time. This whole episode is a literal hall of Fame peak level episode. If there is a place for the best individual episodes, this one easily sits at the top. Everything in it is perfection. It's too good to be real and yet here it is.
This is easily one of the best episodes in all fiction, not only anime.
same here, the onion cutting monkey always appears.
when gon looks back at killua before letting it rip :(
Bro imagine if Togashi decided to write Killua dying in that moment Gon lost his arm. I cry every time thinking that might happen at that scene.
that zhin pfp
All I can say that Gon being silent that whole time he transformed was the most coldest part about this. No over hype screaming, no speech, no showing off, no nothing at all. Just pure emotion!! GEEZ MAN!!!
That's what hyped me up about Goku's mui. No screaming and shit just pretty colors and smooth.
@@Floaydi Nah, that was cringe af. Woulda been cooler if he got his MUI after SURVIVING his battles against other threats... Him dying all the time and coming back just took all the tension out from the show from me and made me cringe at the scene.
@@universecreator988 Which threats? After hit?
@@universecreator988He has only died 3 times bro
@@GorillaGutti "only". That's enough to remove all tension from the show. No real consequences = Not as much excitement
Gon grabbing his dismembered arm and slamming it into pitou's chest is one of the craziest things i saw in an anime.
You must not have watched much anime then lol.
@@devious00 Because maybe he showers, not like an anime fan like you lol
If you think that crazy watch Berserk
In the context of Hunter x Hunter it is actually crazy. Berserk sets you up that is what to expect. HxH does not do this, it always tended to show you the positive side of any situation. Except this one.
@@98locoro how about be nice to people, ever tried it?:)
500% credit to the incredible yoshihina hirano for the godlike music in this scene. So important to have this song only played in this scene, perfection
Makes it extremely memorable. Most rage anime scenes are filled with crazy beats/guitar rifts. This one is eerie and scary- like how real rage should be.
@@TyTimeIsAwesome it was scary even without the music. reading this part in the manga was wrecking my nerves into pieces. my whole body aches. i wouldn't wish that pain upon anyone.
but of course the music of this anime is like nothing on earth as well. just cosmic.
completely starstrucked
What I love about Togashi's power system, is that he sticks with it. No weird plot insert exceptions. What you put in is what you get out. I like to think of nen and binding vows as that you could gain the power of a god, but the exchange would be that you only get to live for one second to use any of it. Can't express enough how genius Togashi is for crafting the nen system. Thanks foe the reaction!
By far the greatest power system in anime/manga
@@tahmidahmed7310Agreed!
damn right
Nanika is the one deus ex machina in the whole series, but it’s theorized that it was brought back from the dark continent from Zigg, Killuas Great grandpa. so the hxh generally ignores it
@@JonathanGonzalez-jd9sm yea Nanika is more of a straight up god or some ultra powerful entity so it doesn't conform as rigidly to the rest of the power system.
Greatest moment in Shounen.
facts lol I watched all of Hunter for this one moment😭
Woah 😳 love this anime, but that’s a high bar 😂 I respect it
with ease
you forgot to add "My" before the Greatest there
@@lexieliulover8238it’s definitely the greatest moment
Just in case anyone is wondering why Gon's hair is so long. It was explained that to achieve the power to kill Pitou is achievable through years and years of training. His hair just shows how much time he needs in order to defeat Pitou.
His hair also makes it look as though there is a dark aura being either pulled from or poured into Gon. When Something heals him, this sinister aura looks to be released in the process. Now, this could just be a visual for how the horrible repercussions of his nen condition were being expelled from his body, but I think it's something a little more.
Well, not quite. It represents how much growth he needed to beat Pitou _this_ easily. He could have won with considerably less. In this form, he dodged Pitou's attacks effortlessly, ended the fight in one blow and finished it off with a second. Then punched the body a bunch. Post mortem Nen and emotional distress are the only reasons he suffered a lost arm.
@@vexedlex8230 yep, Pitou herself was very confident that in this state Gon could’ve boxed evenly with or even defeated Meruem, making her death the equivalent of taking out the chessboard Queen by sacrificing a pawn.
@@thecrazycapmasteryep good analysis! Her death is worth it.
He's stronger than pitou at that stage, even pitou said : He's now at THE SAME LEVEL as the king.
This is exactly the reason i absolutely love H X H .
Unlike other anime where main character keeps on getting new transformations in every arc, here Gon transformed only once but it costed him everything.
Such a genius writing .
Everytime i rewatch this , my respect for togashi grows even more.
and it took the whole gang one whole arc or one season (12 episodes) to heal him back. When I think about it after years, kind of crazy
not just that but HxH has the best power system imaginable. Everyone can win against anyone. Your power doesn't makes you stronger, your skills make you stronger than others. We can clearly see this with Hisoka. Hisoka's nen ability isn't strong. But the way he uses it makes it deadly.
The funny thing is that HxH has also one of, if not the best love story in anime, while not being a romance anime. This show is insanely versatile.
@@kazuharailfan.2909 and even then it just healed his body he still hasn't been able to use Nen since his exchange for that power
@@XuhXum true, also just look at Morel's nen abilities, they seem fairly weak at first but Morel is able to utilize them in such versatile and creative ways that he is able to almost always come out on top or eke out a win
A body without limits, a mind without remorse and a heart without hope.
Rage without sense.
The best part about this series it showed reactions real people would likely have in these situations. A powerful yet naive and trusting child protagonist slowly being broken to the point of succumbing to darkness and revenge isn’t something many series, in any genre, would cover. Most series would make the kid someone stay positive and happy while getting huge emotion powerups in critical moments like being trapped in a room with peto, who wants to kill you, and the main character wouldn’t become emotionally hardened at all. This is so much more real.
Facts couldn't have said it better
Episode that changed shonen forever. in 2014, I still remember it. the internet was in disbelieve.
Greatest episode in anime history.
I wish I was in the fandom at that time...

I was just about to comment that. LMAO
I can’t believe I forgot, how the ending of this episode made me almost cry; what solidified this anime as my favorite
"Mob psycho reference"
HxH being released in 1999
And then rereleased in 2011 🗿
This scene never ceases to amaze me! Watching Gon throw away everything away he could have, all for destroying someone that he hates is so scary yet the power and resolve that he has leaves me in awe everytime.
but that is him seeking justice for himself. Pitou hurt him so deeply, she will pay. if i were Gon i would kill her too, if i have the power Gon has. it's already all or nothing the moment Pitou and Gon left together. Gon knows this. he was prepared to die with Pitou.
To anyone who don't understand Pitou's relief, you'd be damn glad to see the person who despises you the most using all the power he has, even sacrificing part of his own life, to destroy you rather than wasting it on the person you loves the most and could do anything for him. Gon basically wasted all his Nen on her out of pure hatred when he could have broken her the same she broke him by attempting to kill Meruem and yet he rathered going all out just for her and to make her understand how strong the gap had become between them at the cost of the will to live a certain amount of time
That and probably the pride of pissing someone so much he goes all out on you and even further
narrator explained this tho
Pitou is a male, bud
@@ewill69 Pitou has no gender

I think this is the single best episode of anime ever without exaggeration. The use of silence between a dialogue, the symbolism of gon turning into a heartless monster while simultaniously, the king is turning into a reasonable being, it all fits so well with how gon was introduced and has been carrying himself over the entire series and is suddenly filled with grief and desire to kill.
I hate MCs that are the embodiment of Jesus Christ aka 100% pure heart.
Gon was one of them until this moment, this is the only time I liked him because he acts like a human not a profit.
He was tired of BS, and he dealt with it.
@@deadlyrobot5179I mean personally it makes logical sense
that Gon is the way he is.
He is a child and therefore naive yet optimistic and purposeful.
He is to young to get a clear grasp of reality and like any child still has means to develop to become a fully functional adult.
I think his „reaction“ in this episode is no contradiction to that but rather a confirmation.
@@IDontLikePopcornWithButterI just don’t get people like you. No normal kid that goes through what Gon went through would act anywhere near to how Gon acted. Gon is the main character for a lot of reasons and one of them is that he can (and as shown) turn into a monster. Also, to show the anti-parallel development of Gon and Meruem. I’ll ask you this. Do you actually believe that any kid would act like this if they went through what Gon went through?
meh never reallt like hxh this scene was cool but the single best episode of anime ever ? you trippin for that statement

Probably the two blond guys top right. I am watching HxH reactions since 2017, and those two are the smartest of all reactors.
@@louayker4249have you watched “filmbuff” reactions? He is My favorite
“Getting mob psycho graphics” is insane. This is the scene that made all of mobs rage scenes
Why am I only now realizing Gon kept punching Pitou until the head was gone because it's part of his whole "it's what Kite taught him to do" line?
I love how this episode kind of skirts around going on the rest of Gon's life journey and gives you peak Gon.
Honestly the best rage episode in anime. Watching this for the first time is an experience
This is genuinely the greatest score to accompany an anime transformation in history. It is literally perfection narratively.
Gon telling Killua that its okay and that it doesnt hurt ALWAYS makes me cry. Without fail.
So many other reaction channels have cut some of the best parts out of this scene, so when I first saw you upload it I was nervous. But you nailed it man! Thank you so much.
I'm sure I'll rewatch this another thousand times😄
The guys in top left are so clueless the entire time, laughing and smiling during one of the saddest moments in the series.

The best arc in anime.
he tore her ass up so bad i actually started to feel bad 😭
no way, ant juice goated 💀🍷💯
He tapped his future stength to be able to annihilate his current foe. Fueled by his sheer will to kill pitou, Gon was willing to die just to accomplish this one task. What a boy/man, but I hope this will be the last time we will see Gon in this state.
I think this is the only scene people keep rewatching now and then, atleast thats what i do 😂
At the very end Gon's eyes are looking at killiua telling: " help me, i'm lost"
weve all been waiting for this one
when the beast found its human heart(meruem) and the human unleashed the beast within(gon)
HxH peak
One of the best animes
A battle shounen with actual stakes is hard to come by, HxH is one of a kind
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS 💕💕💕💕
LOL the grown man 3x combo
The capability of human rage is nothing short of scary. This is a prime example of the phrase I got nothing left to loose. You loose all sense of self and enter a state in which nothing matters. The pain of a lost soul, all innocence dies with you, and you're no longer yourself. Something to reflect on.😢
One of the best episodes in anime🗣️
this episode no joke makes me cry every single time i watch it and i've seen it probably a hundred times
原作勢だけど、このシーンはアニメ化して良かったと感じた部分の1つ✨
Years later. Nice coming back to this
You can see Pitou is not evil. Right after she (I think its a female) was born, she was just a kid playing with "insects" (humans). She doesnt wants to kill Gon, you can tell she would prefer to avoid it, but Gon is a serious threat for the King, from her point of view.
It's what they all realize. The royal guards are sentient, but can be turned into merciless weapons by one word of the king
Yeah, when her body reactivates I think that her Nen was strengthened by her love for Mureum and not hatred towards Gon. I don't think she even understood what hatred really was until she met Gon and thought, "This thing of pure hate can not exist in the same world as my King." That's...Gon is probably the only person that felt hatred that much. It proabably eclipsed even what Kurapika felt toward the PT. It's a horrific black spot on Killua's and Gon's friendship.
Yes cuz she just born when she fight Kite, and the nature of Chimera ant is aggressive and brutal + the curiosity of human + being playful in their prey as a cat.
if all ants are male i guess they learn breast enlargement implant surgeries by reading those books that penguin ant had and decided to put them to all ants that look like girls just for no reason
Pitou is male
"can't tell by the shorts" 😭😭
Absolute masterpiece. Makes me cry and gets me hyped at the same time.
I can't watch this last scene with Gon and Killua without crying. It gets me every time 😢
Never forget about Nen being able to persist even after death it'll get you when you least expect it
When the boss you're fighting enter phase 2
I never, ever, considered… after watching this show multiple times… that the length of Gon’s hair wasn’t just for a cool factor.
It was revealing, perhaps, of all the hair growth that would have occurred in the time for Gon to reach this level.
If there is *any* hint of truth to that theory… I have so much more reverence for what occurred and his hair which seemingly pierces the skyline.
Yep I finally came to that conclusion as well. Gon used his life force to enhance his bodies aging process to grow up. So all that hair is however much hair he would have grown in that same timeframe as his body did.
I thought that was obvious haha
@@adamnichols26😅
@@blanahaha yea it's basically all the hair he'd have grown over those years if he didn't cut it, as he most likely would have if he actually took the decades of time to train for real
No shit sherlock, its already been explained.
that was also the first time Killua's steps were listened.
One of the greatest fight in history of anime🔥🔥🔥🔥
fight?? this wasnt a fight..this was an execution.

A human turned into monster and a monster turned into human.. hxh is. Such a masterpiece with character development.
Pure perfection. Watched this so many times over the years and ITS getting better everytime
This reaction mashup was insane
i love u guys! ♥
Greetings from ARGENTINA!
"Anger", just pure "anger". This rage moment is probably the best one in shonen universe. Chimera ants became human by discovering feelings and Gon became a monster by losing his emotions !!
At that moment pitou felt the true fear
Damn i am a one piece fan but also a die hard fan of HxH. This scene is the best scene in all of anime. Emotions the music the voice act. Everything is perfect.. Hyorri ittai
idk nothing OP offered came close to this imo. Mb the Merry scene. But just my opinion no hate to OP
Wife always asks me, why do I watch this episode so many times? It's my favorite episode of this particular show. It's like when Luffy punched the celestial dragon. It's just like Takumi winning races. It's just like when Pain went after Hinata.
OP had so much to learn and enjoy from, this is just sad. That's it. No hate to HxH but OP was far greater than anything HxH gave me @@simonzhang3D
i love how 5 different people said the exact same thing of “bro he’s a grown ass man”
i love the reaction "grown ass man" how is that expression a standart ?? lmao love it
That end cut, where you see gon again before his last blast, that subtle switch in emotion. No matter what power he may have, you can still see a kid there. He is after all a kid, a kid that grew up without a father and lost a father like figure cause he was weak and is hurt. That look man. It just hurts sooo bad
Gon was like... "Are you ok? BUSTA WOLF!!!"
This is why Gon's probably the best-written character in all of manga's history.. Togashi made him so consistent from the get go
When I'm ill and need to sweat profusely- I just rewatch this
The author know there is no HxH in the future so he show Gon in adult form 😂😂
All this shit was for nothing when we saw kite alive at last 💀

Thank you to upload new video.😊😊😊
theres so much emotion in this episode
Something ive never seen ppl talk about with this scene is that gon had this habit of wanting to act on impulse but stopping because he was putting killua in danger, but I imagine he was quite satisfied to be able to go apeshit this time knowing that killua will be safe.

"did he just die!?"
"how was he sitting up dead this whole time that doesn't make sense"
How are they so dumb?
Lmao thought the same. They're kinda slow 😂
Does that mean if Gon reach that actual age he transformed into, he will be that powerful?🔥
well i think he will be that level if he keep training nonstop for some decades
Nope. You probably already know by now, but this is him using all of his POTENTIAL. This form is what he would've been after decades of constant training which he obviously doesn't do, most likely he won't reach this level at that age or possibly ever
could you train 24 hours a day, for decades, no pause to do anything else, not even eat drink or go to bathroom? that is what he did to get this level of power. so yeah, that is a "no" to your question.
Yes the response is yes.... Netero is an example!!! If gon will train a lot he become like this!!!
