Kurapika is a smart character, he wouldnt just enter a fight knowing he maybe has a chance to win. He knew from the very beginning that he doesn't stand a chance Vs him, he captured him once tested his chance and nen on him. Kurapika in this state could most probably defeat every troupe member except Chrollo.

@@mjhmab he did, but he caught him by suprise. In an open 1vs1 fight it would be a whole different story. Chrollo is probably stronger, but Kurapika made so much progress in so little time. It's really unbelievable that he can most probably 1vs1 every troupe member except Chrollo. It will be interesting seeing how his story progresses. Hopefully we won't be waiting too long for a new season.
One of my favourite fight in all anime, and the fact that kurapika bring a shovel to this fight, what a chad.

Love how Uvo died with his pride intact, say whatever you want about the man, even after realizing his inevitable defeat and death he accepted them with arms open and mocked his killer.

@@B_Shit06 In short, he shortens his life using emperor time. And the ratio is something like 12 hours of usage = 5 years of life.
But that is only a part of a problem. The other part is that under certain conditions he is not able to turn off the ability.
That is why I love HxH. The balance. To have broken abilities you must risk your life or have a complex set of conditions to activate it.

Kurapika is no weakling by any means, his conditions simply make him unbeatable versus the troupe, but his specialist power alone makes him an incredibly powerful opponent in the hxh universe

@@zir456 He can use emperor time whenever he wants, and the only ability that he can't use on anyone besides the troupe is chain jail, and maybe little finger. So he is definitely OP

The fun bit about Emperor Time is, Kurapika could consume a 100 year long lifespan with just about 4 years of using the ability.

The meaning of the "You're wasting my time" and ""I spent too much time in that state" was answered more than 300 chapters later in the manga. The reason is because for every second that Kurapika is in Emperor Time mode, he loses an hour of his life. That's how good Togashi's writing is

I think Kurapika Ability Penalty still too light considering It's Very Broken and make Him unbeatable after only training for less than a year💀

Bro the penalty is discussed in length when you read the manga. It is that every second he spends in Emperor Time shortens his life by an year or something close. (Which is why he constantly tells his opponent not to waste his time and go all out from the beginning so he can verify his hypothesis and get it over with as quick as possible)
So, if you ask me it is a crazy ability but the drawbacks are crazy too.

I cant believe they didnt discuss this in the anime but the tradeoff for emperor time is crazy bad. Every minute he spends in that form is like a year off his lifespan or something to that effect which is what kurapika references

@@way2dawn853 I don't see a reason why Chain Jail shouldn't be able to restrain a Phantom Troupe Adult Gon. It's just that Gon would be too fast to actually get caught in it and would blitz Kurapika before he even knows what happened.

Uvogin= physically strongest member of the troupe directly hit Kurapika with his literally strongest attack and it just caused a bruise. Thats just makes literally no sense.
I get that Kurapika can damage PT members a lot more than a normal nen user, but that doesnt have anything to do with that he can just tank the strongest punch ever punched in the series.

@@_Cfocus still bro I would argue that the phantom troupe has some of the strongest human fighters f.ex. Chrollo and if they say Uvo's strength is by far the highest out of these people I would also think that it's definitely on par with some of the strongest characters we've at least met so far in the anime. F.ex. strength wise it could be on the level of Neteros strength.
It was very early in the show so most people just think the first antagonists are weaker than the next but that's not the case. Like I said look at Uvo's strength in retrospect to all the characters and tell me it is logical that he didn't completely fuck up Kurapika. Kurapika is a small and thin boy that knows about Nen for about 6 Months when he fights him and I don't think it is good story writing when you just make him literally beat the strongest of the members with one try, no injuries and seemingly little effort. Very much the only thing I dislike about HxH tho.
