You can sharpen your knives with a steel & save yourself some money. I have a set of knives I bought at 19 years old & still have them & I’ll be 69 next year, they are sharpened regularly & are of high quality which also makes a difference😁 Thanks for the recipe by the way😁❤️

@@elisha5509 apologies this is a year on but if you're still wondering any Shaoxing wine will do. If you don't have any you can also substitute sherry, it's similar. Although one tip is the flavour of it goes quickly so I wouldn't add it to all the other sauces as this does add literally right at the end, just as you turn off the stove and it's still bubbling, this is common practice for Chinese cooks.
Freezing the steak/beef 15-30 min is enough time to firm it well for thin slicing. Freezing an entire hour is unnecessary & just takes longer lol Plus, less freeze time means less ice crystals in the meat👍
O.K. so I just made this! I must admit I was skeptical at first.I have wasted so much money and time on online recipes.This was also my 1st attempt at a stir fry! It was truly amazing.I could not find rice wine so I substituted a dry sherry wine.Cooked my vegetables until tender and I used sirloin tips.

Just made and demolished this: delicious. Wasn’t sure if the garlic, ginger, pepper and stock powder added during the frying stages should have been deducted from the slurry ingredients (it didn’t say) but I added them and it turned out great: maybe a tad salty but not overly so. Gonna try the stir fry chicken next, then maybe some Nigerian delights 😊

I will use your recipe over the others I've seen for beef pepper steak. But I will omit the brown sugar in the slurry because of the honey in the meat. I don't want it to sweet. I will substitute the brown sugar with something slightly spicy and serve over rice or pasta. Thanks for the recipe it the best.

freeze the meat for about an hour or so to firm it up. that way you can slice it thinly easily

Quick way to sharpen you knives is to run the blade along the bottom of a ceramic cup. Works everytime!
