We did this in 2017. This was an amazing experience, highly recommend! You do not need to be a swimmer, though it greatly helps.

Sutton correct we are snorkeling on top holding floaties but there is an option to scuba

Buy a really bright diving light and aim towards where you shoot. Enjoy!
