I was induced for 2/3 pregnancies. I actually liked being induced because I was able to plan and know exactly when we would be going to the hospital, which is nice when you have other kids at home. I had great induction experiences, but I know some people do not. It's just important to remember that the goal at the end of the day is to get baby out safely.
@@kristineb22 my guess is it got too stressful. puppies are hard.. and when youre preggo 🥴 i can't even imagine.. - she was prob telling AJ its her or the dog 😄
It would be nice to know - they had quite a few videos dedicated to the dog and she was pretty adamant about keeping him and that they were sure of their decision to get him so it’s only natural to be curious. They might have temporarily re homed him. I think they also went to the extent of clipping the dog’s ears and reorganising their home for him so would they just kick him to the kerb like that?
You dont need to ever justify when you eat food babe. If you finished all the popcorn chicken so be it! You need to do whats best for you. You're doing great! Third trimester is tough because you're so tired and get so much bigger its uncomfortable. But youre so close to seeing your babes❤ enjoy the freedom of just getting up and going somewhere without a little baby. Crazy how it changes! Edit: I can't vouch for the potential heart defect, but I was induced with my son and it went great. They start with a cervical softening gel usually and you can progress on your own. I personally was put on pitocin and it's wasn't so bad! It'll all be great. You two are in my prayers 🙏
You can be induced and have a natural labor. I did with my 2nd-induced with pitocin and they broke my water and no epidural or pain medication. Good luck with whatever way your baby makes their way into the world…it’s all beautiful!
@@ghold6810 I wish people wouldn’t get pets to replace children and then when the children come along there quick to get rid of the pet because it becomes too much work 😡
Exactly. Well she finally updated on her last vlog, they did get rid of him. Sad they made that determination with just 1 month of having a dog but no sense of guilt that they kept the cat that’s just the same amount of work. Sorry that’s just wrong 😑
I planned for an unmedicated, spontaneous birth too. I ended up induced during my 39th week (due to preeclampsia). I still went unmedicated and had a positive safe delivery! Its totally understandable to be disappointed in not having your 'ideal' birth, but know it can still be postiive for you, and there are still elements in your control!
If your blood pressure goes high your head will feel like a balloon and you might have a headache and and be a little dizzy. Ive seen some IvFs get induced at 37 weeks. But it just depends on the doctor.
Hi! I totally understand the desire to go naturally, just urge you to do your research! Induction is more common in first time moms because the placenta begins deteriorating after 40 weeks so with each passing week after that, risk to baby increases. To avoid these issues, providers often push for induction around the time of the due date, and elective induction can be scheduled (in my state at least) at 39 weeks gestation. Whatever happens, I know you’ll get through it. I really wanted to go naturally as well, but my first was frank breech (booty down) with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 3 times, so it was a scheduled c-section for me. I went into labor naturally with my second at 37+4 and wanted to try natural again, but amniotic fluid samples found meconium so we had another c-section. I definitely still struggle with disappointment, but I have two healthy boys & that’s all that really matters. Best of luck to you! ❤️
Check out Siobhan Millers book on hypnobirthing- she talks about how you can apply the concepts (and benefit from them) in any kind of birth- unmedicated, medicated, induction or c section!
I'm sure someone else has already asked, but do you guys still have Roman? We never see him and rarely saw him to begin with. His name isn't even spoken in videos anymore, it's like he's Bruno from the Encanto movie and just never spoken of. Is he ready for the baby or are you considering rehoming him? I never even got a good impression that you especially wanted him in the first place, just hoping he's okay.
Hi rachel, my little one has supravalvar aortic stenosis (among other heart defects) ehich nrcesditated open heart surgery at 3 months old. The reassuring thing for your pregnancy is that your bub is big! Mine was tiny, so needed c section at 37 weeks because she and my placenta stopped growing. Youre very lucky that you have access to echo and cardiologist so everyone will be prepared just in case ❤ it sounfs strange, but i also think its reassuring that uou "know" your baby is healthy. I "knew" there was something wrong during my first trimester. Thanks for sharing
My induction experience wasn't so great but with the grace of god everything went well and now i have my baby boy! 💗 Rachel pray and god will give you strength the moment of labour.
Rachel, my twin sister had my niece through IVF recently. The baby came at 2 weeks early, naturally. I hope that eases your mind about induction and going all the way to 40 weeks. It is not a guarantee.
My midwife says there's a "blood volume expansion" that happens around 28 weeks where your body makes another cup of blood! She said it's really normal for you to be extra tired around that time -- wonder if that could be the timing of the extra exhaustion for you? I'm 28wks now and I definitely have been feeling it!
I was in a similar spot to you.. I wanted to go into labor naturally but I was induced at 40 weeks. I did everything I could to encourage spontaneous labor and was srarting to labor by the time I showed up for my induction but still got the pitocin drip and everything. It went so well! I labored for less than 12 hours. I labored without an epidural for about half of it but got one a few hours before pushing and it was a super positive experience! I felt nothing but pressure when it came time to push. Everyone's experience varies so much, but if I have a second I will absolutely put a scheduled induction on the calendar for my due date again and go in without fear on that day!
I am 32 weeks with my first IVF baby boy and I haven’t had any additional screening because my pregnancy was IVF. I am in BC, Canada so likely our system works wayyy different but I haven’t been treated any differently because of IVF. Once my fertility clinic discharged me at 10 weeks and I started seeing my Midwife they haven’t brought up IVF since my first appointment to just chat about it. I could have gone the OB route so maybe it would have been different if I went with them VS a midwife!
I had to get induced the day before my due date due to high blood pressure. I ended up still being able to go without an epidural, though I did get iv pain meds for like an hour of relief in there. I learned a lot beforehand about the types of induction drugs they might use and I was able to just get 2 doses of cytotec, and then my body kicked into gear and I didn’t need any pitocin! Baby was born on his due date in the morning. So just know that even if you get induced, it doesn’t have to mean pitocin or an epidural (if you don’t want one). I do strongly recommend a doula if you don’t have a family member or friend who feels they’ll be good at coaching you through birth! My mom and sister helped me a ton.
Also! I did advocate and pushed back against getting induced early than 40 weeks. Because a couple of the doctors I was seeing were pushing for that more. But my situation was, my blood pressure was high at every appointment but totally normal when I took it at home. So I wasn’t personally concerned about it, and neither was my midwife, but then another factor came in when they did ultrasounds as I approached 40 weeks and there was some concern about lack of fluid in there, which could be bad for baby. So that was the point when I was like yep, totally fine with the induction to make sure baby is okay! I had really wanted to go into labor spontaneously, but honestly it all ended up being okay.
Magnesium will help with your blood pressure! Definitely ask your doctor about how much you can take, but it will help lower it! Also, avoiding caffeine until the end will help too! Much love!❤️
Can we block everyone who makes negative comments? hahah 🤭 I love your content! I'm always praying for you ❤ Loving following this beautiful and challenging phase you are going through. We've been ttc for a few months too and you inspire us a lot! Thank you for sharing so much reality.
Prepare yourself for 3rd trimester. Its the hardest so far... My baby girl was born at 42 + 5 'cause i just stopped feeling her moving (induction) and i ended up having a c-section (her head was stuck in my hip)... Induction was the easiest thing with the epidural. My husband and I were watching Friends series but the csection recovery ,+ mastitis + total lack of sleep... The 1st month was horrendous.
the pushing for induction is so real and I don't understand why! (except just not being convenient for the doctors schedules in most cases). I did get induced with my second this time around right at 41 weeks because it felt like a compromise between the doctors and I.. Felt like a safe in-between of trying to go natural but not waiting for 42 weeks, which they really didn't want me going past 41. But that's different for everyone! Advocate for yourself in whatever you decide to do! A good doctor will listen to your wishes
I was induced due to high BP/preeclampsia. Though I was super nervous, everything went well. I’m sure you’re in good hands- definitely stay communicating with your doctor. Also 100000% recommend getting an epidural! Lol
I did membrain sweeps at 38w to help before being induced. Did two one day apart and it kicked me into labor. I did it unmedicated until 6-7cm (they said I was a 6 but weren't sure) and got an epidural. And an hour later I was ready to push! I think planning to go unmedicated helps so much!! Its the mental training that makes you feel confident and strong. But I made a plan for every outcome (unmedicated, epidural, C-section) because I realized if I knew in all outcomes I would be okay and what it would look like I could go into birth with less anxiety. THAT HELPED SO MUCH! I planned to go unmedicated and realized I was progressing very very fast and couldn't do it (I have sexual trama a that gets triggered with pain). Everyone knew my goal was to feel present in the birth so we got an epidural and I regret nothing. I actually can't wait to go it again 😂🥴 I loved giving birth.
Also giving birth feels so surreal and alien. You give birth to a total stranger (I never thought I'd feel that way since I felt connected to my son during pregnancy) but within hours we were so protective of him and in love. Its the BEST!!!
Hey Rachel! I’ve had preeclampsia in both of my pregnancies (& it continued into postpartum) and had to be induced for both of them. They say you can’t really prevent it but one thing I will say is don’t eat too much sodium because that’s what I did after they told me I had gestational diabetes and I got really bad preeclampsia. I changed my diet after learning that 1 week postpartum and it didn’t stay as long as the first time I had it! (:
Being induced at 39weeks is required with IVF births in some countries. I haven’t heard about it in the US but I also don’t know many people that have done IVF.
I was really concerned about my dr wanting to induce me and then i went into labor at 38.6 weeks. Personally i didn’t want to be induced unless there was a medical reason, just in case or for convenience wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to experience going into labor on my own. I feel like a lot of doctors recommend it just to get it on the schedule so it’s convenient for them.
Can you get on baby aspirin to prevent the preeclampsia? I was prescribed due to family history and it prevented me from having it. My sister went against doctor’s orders and decided not to take 20:34 it and she def had preeclampsia
Going past 40 weeks can be scary! Biggest issue is meconium stain/stay in nicu those are usually our sickest babies 🥹 although not all end up in nicu/are born healthy, 39 weeks gives me peace of mind but hoping you are able to make the best decision mama! You got this and praying baby is okay 🩵🩵🩵
everything you are experiencing is preparing you for something greater. You have planned so well and hey the devil would want to come and bring in things that can cause you to stress but hey it will be fine. pregnancy is a journey that i now understand gets you to be closer with God. Dont stress all will be well and the proper management or health system that you have will go well just as God promised Sarah in Genesis 21vs 1-7 so shall the same promise come to pass for you. its okay to stress and plan but God's plans arent yours and his preparing you for something greater on your new journey as a mother with a new born. keep positive and stay relaxed i know its hard but you will be able to do it. And God is with you. your child will be healthy as his a beautiful miracle baby i have seen ever since i began to follow your channel. ❤❤❤❤
I definitely heard your frustration with the IVF pregnancy being the reason you could have to be induced now that this was found on the echo but if it makes you feel any better as a Nurse and mom of three who's considered high risk due to type 1 diabetes and has had to do the fetal echo every time there's a very good chance with your nephews heart condition they'd have recommended the echo even if you hadn't done IVF. Hope that helps in some way. I will be praying that this is a totally normal variance and your baby boy is born completely healthy with the birth style you want. I had three births unmedicated despite being high risk every time, have experienced 13 days in the nicu with one due to being 5 weeks premature, etc here if you ever have any questions or anything
Hey mama of 6 kiddos- let that baby cook until 40 weeks IF your body allows - and IF there aren’t any real risks. And girl I’ve done both - epidural & natural and even breech natural vaginally - epidural all day and I hate to say it but it was the only birth I enjoyed , and was mentally there. The others were intense and I had to really dive into my mental strength . Anyone can do it, but it is hard! Don’t let anyone tell you it’s easy ❤
My wife and I got those Coterie diapers for our son and the first night, he had a mini blowout and they couldn’t handle it at all lol. We were sad but also relieved because they’re super expensive! Hopefully they work for you and AJ though!
I was induced last Thursday at 41 weeks and it went better than I expected! I also questioned getting induced vs. waiting to go into labor but I felt peace that I was choosing the safest option for baby. If you do get induced I recommend the epidural as I’ve heard unmedicated Pitocin contractions are pretty rough! Prayers that everything goes smoothly for you and baby from here on out.
i had an ideal birth scenario too but it didnt happen. ended up having a Csection and baby staying in the NICU for 10 days. 😢 i learned to surrender to God’s plans. my baby is now 3years old ❤
There is nthg wrong being induced.i was at induced at 40w it went super well. My body did 90% ofwork. It is normal to be anxiousbut evthg will be alright❤
No offence but each vlog your saying your in pain and unmedicated labour is extreme like no other I did it twice If you can do without pain trust me go for pain relief !!!!! .....

Always a stunning job!❤❤
My wife and I got those Coterie diapers for our son and the first night, he had a mini blowout and they couldn’t handle it at all lol. We were sad but also relieved because they’re super expensive! Hopefully they work for you and AJ though!
Omg lol!!! Good to know
Getting past 40 weeks is subjective ! But I hope and pray you have a amazing birth experience ❤
One time I went all the way to miami from tx just to take my little cousin to pura vida 🤣
Prayers that everything goes smoothly for you and baby from here on out.
i had an ideal
birth scenario too but it didnt happen. ended up having a Csection and baby staying in the NICU for 10 days. 😢 i learned to surrender to God’s plans. my baby is now 3years old ❤
There is nthg wrong being induced.i was at induced at 40w it went super well. My body did 90% ofwork. It is normal to be anxiousbut evthg will be alright❤
Your tummy is getting bigger 😍
Where did you get your bed frame from? Is it from Amazon?
