I remember going to my local arcade after school and this one dude shows up and his only purpose is to do the Ruby Heart glitch on every mvc2 cabinet and make a run for it. Even though he got banned from doing it, he still managed to sneak his way in somehow and freeze all the cabinets.

When I was a noob and mashed buttons. I did a venom web assist and a cable grenade at the same time, and the arcade froze for like 30 minutes. Lol

I remember someone doing the Ruby Heart glitch at my local arcade when I was a kid. Even then I knew this game was busted so I wasted my quarters on the brand new Tekken 4 cabinet.

Ruby heart glitch was so bad that Capcom banned her game
A couple small additions:
Against anybody with a super armor super (Colossus, etc.), use Magneto's HP throw and hit em with a snapback. It will turn them invisible, send them flying across the screen, and will remove the super armor. They stay invisible until they move, but can still be hit. I believe it works on Mecha Gief as well, but he stays Mecha.
More fun with the Mecha Zangief glitch:
Depending on the frame he is frozen on (I recall him upside-down being amazing for this), certain Thanos supers will make him absolutely FREAK OUT (I think the stone walls one). I used to experiment with this all the time on Dreamcast and got some amazing results.
First Cheetarah, then Felicia, then Felicia's friends "dog"piling you... What were these animators trying to do to me as a kid?

It's literally the best fighting game ever made and has the best music. For years every similar game was compared to this untill after many years we realized there will never be another this great. Only game I've ever considered perfect. Well wish there was a little more story but other than that perfect

Never really played this game, but one thing I've always wondered about the Gambit glitch. Is there like a time limit after snap back before Cajun Strike can be used? Like, if you snapback then wait say 5 seconds does it still happen? I'm assuming it doesnt happen if you use any moves between the snap and strike?
This one just interest me a lot because all the others are dependent on players doing them intentionally. You'd only spam taunt during that move for the glitch, you have to actively combo the dead bodies, and all the others are situational to the point they'd only happen on purpose, but the Gambit glitch could just happen on accident if you forgot about it.
Just do anything else after the snapback but before Cajun Strike. Yes, you'll have to remember not to do that during a tournament.

great video! never noticed the Felicia , also you may add the venom glitch which makes the characters up side down, another one is the character still alive and can do a lot of crazy staff with the life bar is gone, and the cable grenade+Thanos bubble glitch
I use to play this game casually back in the day. I am not surprised it is still going strong. Your videos make me want to get back into it.

MvC2 is not really my type of game but i love your videos about it, they showcase really well the legacy of the game, there's always some fun trivia and gives some context to the madness of the matches(Like in your Sentinel video, for example), great work!
there's also the guile glitch that leaves the flash kick waves from his super on the screen causing your opponent to block every time the hit "back"...making it so they pretty much cant back dash OR walk backwards for the rest of the match...which is pretty game breaking . i know how to do ruby hearts version also...same as guiles idea. you lay the treasure chest that spawns the ghost, right as you lay the ghost chest and BEFORE the ghost spawns ...you snap the opponent out. if you do it properly the ghost will spawn and since there is no one to fly towards, it just sinks downward off the screen. but it still stays active offscreen somewhere...meaning ruby heart always has an attack onscreen for the opponent to block if they press back...so those 2 glitches are banned in tourney also

The #3 glitch is epic and good for common arcade fighting. I remember that infinity in the Xmen vs SF, using Sabretooth endless kicking to his dead opponent. ✌️♥️😃

no. There was a digital rerelease, but it is only available if you bought it back in the day and the physical ps3 release is expensive
Ps3 version is sorta nice with widescreen and all that but unless youre gonna emulate ps3 its hard to get on ps3

I learned the Gambit glitch and Guile glitch from an 11 year old boy in my neighborhood bowling alley/ arcade. I asked him for an hour to teach me the secrets and he showed them to me after i gave him 20 dollars. No one i knew had ever seen these glitches. I learned the Thanos glitch on my own. Im 39 and still play this game on line.

Only did it once using Xangief. He has this infinite hold where he grabs the opponent till the opponent burst in flames and just drain the lifebar. And also Guile's hanging jack knife where the projectiles are just stuck on screen, making the opponent block everyltime the player backs. I font know if thosenare bannable but its worth mentioning it. 😁. Awsome list by the way. You learn every day.
IIRC there's at least one more glitch that freezes things up (possibly breaks DCs), but I don't remember the exact methods. It's the Shuma Gorath glitch, where Shuma gets caught in one of his move animations forever. I do remember the setup for it being a bit annoying, though, so good luck. :) There's also the double-team glitch (also involving Shuma I think), but I can't remember all the details for that one either. Both of them are basically impossible in tourneys, because you need really, really precise timing and the other player to help you. Also, you have to play Shuma, so that's something. You can check out Magnetro's channel for some old combo vids that feature some of the glitches, but I don't remember if any of the vids show the setups for them. Thanks for the fun vid though :)
This is awesome. MVC2 was clearly buggy as hell but it's def a shame UMVC3 lost support over time. Truly sick series.

Gambit and Spiral going back to their home planet is hilarious.
One I used on one-player or fighting against cheaters: use Rogue, and have her absorb someone's speed attribute. If you spam her low-kick during this time, she kicks the opponent so fast that by the time her foot hits the ground, she'll kick again! You'll get a large combo, and the opponent can't fight back.
I used this against a guy who only liked playing games when he could win, then he'd brag about how badly you lost to anyone who'd listen. His favorite character was Wolverine, who gave Rogue the speed attribute. I'd kill all 3 of his players before her timer ran out. He tried to cheat by not telling anyone how to use supers (for some reason, his ps3 combo setup was different than my ps2), so I spammed this for 2 rounds. I beat him so badly that he rage quit in front of everyone at an all-night party my college threw, turned off the TV, unhooked the game and told me to get out. He didn't say anything the rest of the night, and I was the hero of my friend group that night! 😂😹🤣
I remember playing this on Dreamcast using a hacked rom and these glitches worked on that.

I knew and have done the first two! Against the CPU, mind you. The Ruby Heart one was just to test it out. Felt bad for the cabinet guys who had to reset the game. The Gambit one I used to exploit against Abyss. Good times.

there is also a cammy glitch used to counter gambit glitch. her ultimate makes her jump up and down even timer hits zero. those were the days. a glitch vs a counter glitch LOL

honestly even if you did freeze him, you wouldn't get DQed as long as you hit him again to unfreeze him

I remember another glitch you might have included with Venom and B. B. Hood... just DHC Venom Web -> Beautiful Memory before the web breaks and mash buttons, the game will freak out and leave your opponent frozen in mid air

one guy in a local arcade did the gambit glitch to me, I even tried to use comando super to hit him but it is useless, but never saw the guy in that arcade again for a reason lol
Here's one for Wolverine's air grabbing. When the opponent is jumping in the high air or falling/landing down from the air, Wolverine superjumps and grabs, causing freeze him and the opponent in the air. It will happen if you keep superjump and grab a several times. I was there in the arcade and accidentally discovered a glitch. I would never use it as abuse because it was not my intention to do that.
love the glith of gambit, never seen it and zangief ,felicia too, i discover my own glitch with my RED team Ironman-bison-omegared frozen the game with the bisonassist and all credits are lost(in arcades that was painfull for the other players xD)
I had someone do the Gambit glitch in the arcade, I was winning and he took a slight lead then disappeared and ran out the clock. It was horrible. What was worse was I was like 14 at the time and he was a grown as adult man and he was so proud of himself.

Or spirals X-men special where if u have ruby hart assist( the grab ) and u have full special u keep doing the special and it will trigger the special animation to keep going for the entire match
I was one of the ones that mentioned the Spiral/Bison thing in a previous video. I've never personally done it, I read years ago that those were the only two that could. So I don't know how it works. I know it involves that bit where you got hit with Spiral though.
hey man, you forget the magneto glitch on collosus or Iron zangief.. When they goes to metal mode, grab them with mags forward 2 grab (the one with rocks), hyper grab then specific snapback. This will froze either collosus or iron zangief and render them useless until mags hits them again.
you don't need to do a snap back with Gambit at the start you can use the 1st super for cajun explosion to gain a life lead, then do the qcf+5 while Gambit is doing the cajun explosion then do the glitch.
