Excellent video George - I cringed every time you cracked off those exhaust manifold bolts, hoping they didn’t sheer!! Very well done indeed. Your patience paid off. 😊🚜👍. I cannot believe you’re even thinking of being without a JCB Fastrac!! 😢
I'm glad you sorted it George I like the tractors you have at the moment and I understand money don't grow on trees lol Hopfully in time you get a nice JCB 8330 👌👍
Hello George, watching your video you can see that the air con compressor is out of alignment with the fan pulley. This can cause belt noises and squeaks.
Sherlock George does it again 🙄🤔😁 have to say George if that exhaust gasket was replaced when she had that rebuild that's bloody poor workmanship 😕 fingers crossed 🤞👍
As an ex old farmer your far and the way best one on you tube. Show it as it and don’t pretend to Waffle ( like certain ones do not about shit they know nothing about ). Brilliantl 😊
Im with you on manifold bolts George, they suck! They are about the only bolt on an engine i absolutely hate dealing with. There's always the pucker factor when you break them loose.
I’ve had 4 Fastracs, 1135, 2135, 2140 and 2155. They have been the most reliable, cost effective tractors we have ever had, by miles! Our Accountant even rang me up to say so.
@@AlexLindley-u5f There are servicing as well as repairs costs. The Fastrac is the only tractor supplied by its dealer. The others by their dealers. He compares what the costs are for each tractor. When I wanted to change our 2135 for a 2140, he rang to say that the 2135 was the most cost effective tractor we had. But for depreciation, he was questioning why I wanted to change it, instead of the less reliable other brands were using. I would quite happily run more of the 2000 series Fastracs if they hadn’t now been out of production for 10 years.
@@AlexLindley-u5f He is in charge of what depreciation he attributes to each piece of equipment we have. Though sometimes I have to get him to alter the rates he uses. @@Rickwardful Aye - i understand that from an Accountancy view point - I was just looking at what it costs to renew after say 3 years from New - which it seems to me to be the cheapest way to run machinery in order to have max availability. Do they hold their money ?
Fastrac, 6bt exhaust manifolds do shrink with age . Hard to believe but they do. Gaskets start moving and bolts snapping, coming loose. Also they can move across the exhaust port slightly and causing a restriction. The last one I changed was nearly half an inch shorter than a new one! If you get a p tronic make sure you budget 20k every 5-6000 hours for transmission repairs.
Hi your air conditioner pump looks out of line with your other pulleys , that would definitely make the belt squeal, we had a funny noise on one off our tractors that turned out to be the clutch on the conditioner pump , great vid 👍
Hello George ya don’t want no chuffing ya want the sound of that gorgeous Cummins engine purring starting to catch up cause been flat out got about 120 acres of beans left then done then get some muck spread and worked in keep up the good work look forward to the next video 👍👍
Surprising what sound a gasket can make if it’s loose. Glad it’s sorted though 👌 and yeah I think you should upgrade… I’ll find you something nice with a star on the bonnet 😁🤭
Now that you have a few hours on her after the work, it might just be time to do a good torque test on the bolts. Things heat cycle and can loosen up a bit. I suggest you hit all the intake bolts and those radiator clamps along with a new belt. Might even be worth pulling those exhaust bolts one at a time and using good high temp anti seize on them for the future. Remember a field tractor is not the same as a pavement queen. Things get jarred and rattled. Prob would not hurt to go through that and the TW every year just checking those bolts.
George I love it when your doin the gruntin and I’m doing the Lookin from Western Australia Ya need to call up that Kalim bloke from Finnigans across the Irish Sea ,don’t that sound so romantic Did ya take lovely Liz to the Irish Ploughing this year ,of course it would be dry when I didn’t go
George without a Fastrac?! But then it was like George without the T-Dub, that happened! But do you really need another big tractor? 8250 would be nice, but what about the F-Dub, you've still got things you want doing on that. Stick with what you got, as least you'll get some use out of that third of a gear box you paid for!😁
When you torque them, is it….43 ftlb, and how many degrees..? They did seem a bit light….🤔👍🇮🇲 ps if that metal gasket was knackered and blowing, it would whistle like the reed in a wind instrument….👍😉👌🇮🇲
eyup george dont know if they are similar with propshafts as jcb 3cx but i always grease the props where the yokes are they get tight and make a squeel
@@GeorgeSaunders didont expect a reply George thanks mate, really like the fasttrac we have a mf 2640 good enough for what we do we dont do long runs or heavy weight as its abit rough with dog box hehe keeping an eye out for a nice 6900 john deeree or a mf 6400 series
3 gaskets between a new head and the manifold? Was it a new manifold as well? If the manifold wasn't new then did they not check the mating faces to make sure they were all level and get them machined if not? 3 gaskets can't be standard install procedure, surely?
Our firm hired a Fasttrac from somewhere about what must have been twenty five or thirty years ago to do a bit of muck leading . This particular one couldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding when it came to the slightest hill. They weren’t very big trailers either, it was embarrassing to drive, i was forever pulling over at every chance to let traffic go. I preferred the 178. I have never forgotten that experience, whether the air filter was blocked up i never did find out, i didn’t want to mess about with it.Ps, Does anyone know how many HP those first ones were in the early/ mid nineties ?
Well done sir... 👏 ✔️ 👍🏻 👌 😀.. glad you found the issue with the Fastrac .. The new toys take a bit of investigation compared to the old ones..😉.. stay safe 🏴
Same with any older tractor mind it's gonna cost abit of money. Whether it be a 10k hour fendt or a 10k hr fastrac. Even a 1950s major all the same. If it's working and earning money why get rid. All bits you've done to it george are as you know just wear and tare for a 10k plus tractor
Isn't there any warranty with the engine thou after olivers fixed it for you .I should keep the job fast track. It's plenty good anoth for you. George. What you do with it. Like use women very temamentall. At times 😂.
Good job George, there is always something 👍🙏😎
I was taught when an apprentice to put some copper slip on the manifold bolts to stop then becoming seized after being used for a while.
Great job, love the diagnosis and repair vids.
Nicely done George great job 👍❤️❤️. Take care of yourself and Liz and your dogs and be Blessed ❤️.
8250 sounds like a plan George . Love the fastrac content
Great bit of trouble shooting, the gaskets seems to have solved it . The Fastrac is humming along. Great video George 👍 🚜 🔧
