Great video George. You and your good lady will have a much nicer ride now indeed.........For the viewers, Please remember that this is an extremely high pressure system and should not be opened until all hydraulic pressure has been discharged as serious injury may occur. Looking forward to the next video
Great modification of the new sheperes , I passed a 06 reg Fastrac yesterday on the motorway pulling a low loader trailer and plant . It was keeping up with the rush hour traffic .🚜👍
:40 seconds in "get the scaffold tube time". I do love that little torque multiplier great bit of kit. A bit of scaffold tube is cheaper tho. Accumulators are an easy fix and pretty cheap now they never used to be. and the ride when done will be amazing as confirmed by the massive smile.. Cheers for the Russell Link love that one with a hiyab !
Yes that Hiab crane on the 155 Fastrac that you refer to is one we sold to a customer on Valentia Island of the coast of Co.Kerry. I really enjoy the banter with George
I know just how you feel George! I had a Citroen Xantia with the same suspension spheres - replacing them made it feel like a brand new car!! It was the most comfortable car suspension wise that I have ever owned and towed my caravan with ease and in total control. Cracking video - enjoy the smoooooooooth ride!!🚜🚜🚜🚜
After years of watching your channel. I am starting to think I need a Fastrac. The old 40k massey not much cope for keeping up with 3 Lexions. Really enjoying the maintenance on the Fastrac.
It’s amazing isn’t George how a simple component change can enhance your fast track tractor 🚜 and improve it no end by the way that you we’re grinning from ear to ear, anyway George until next time TaRa for a bit.
Looks like the old girl is running smooth. I can tell you're a happy Chap. Two tools I need in my repertoire, that strap ratchet attachment and the torque multiplier. Can you please post the manufacturers?
As soon as i saw the spheres i said they're the Citroën ones🤣 Amazing to see 50 year old technology still being used today.....if it ain't broken Don't fix it!!
I see you were pulling the bar up the way to try and loosen those wheel nuts. Could have been worth a try putting the bar the other side and pushing down the way to loosen, i.e stand on the bar and bounce. Easier than pulling up and easier on the old back too.
So do they self prime oil like a normal oil filter, is there like a header reservoir, cause i noticed you lost some oil, did that need to be replaced ?
The disc brake on the second side (one where you left the wheel on) looked well rusty - calliper problem? The other side had the look of a new calliper. Something else needing a bit of fettling??
You should take a look at one of those Milwaukee 1" impacts, 2400nm loosening tourqe, 2000nm tightening. Bare tool isent that pricey imo. No more handcrank😅. Deboss garage has some good videos on it👍
Hey George, Did you also have to top up the oil that I saw leaking out of the spheres as you unscrewed them? Since as you stated they use oil pressure to lift the tractor on the wheels. If you did top up the oil there how and where is it done? Lovely to see you enjoying your new baby. 8 ) Look out on Monday the 19th July a super heatwave happening then. I hope your cows be Okay with the heat. Cheers.
it uses oil from the main hydraulic tank, generating 3000 psi of pressure. Take great care when working with these high pressure systems. Very dangerous.
Hi George have a 3185 with the same problem followed the video did you fill the cylinders up with any fluid and pressurised the system in any way cheers
Hi Steven, if you've bought some new sphere's they should come already pressurised. Make sure there is no pressure in the system when you take the old ones off i.e the bump stops are sitting on the axle. Then simply screw the new ones on, just nip them up. The system is supplied by the hydraulics so as soon as you start it up the the system will pressurise and then you can enjoy a nice comfortable ride👌👍
I'd say the callipers are seized. Needs good service or replacement I think! Dangerous in fact! How tractors turn over at high speed, they lock the wheel .
@@russellfastraxx3979 im just thinking with the shortage of hgv drivers and these tractors doing equivalent speeds of hgv on a car license wether it could be an answer
Hey George, or anybody else! Do you know if there is chop shops in UK where could i find old claas lexions? Partuculally IMO lexions? I would be interested to get IMO, because my own 450 gives me hard time.. Maybe Legend would know, he had that 460 earlier, still has? Anyone from UK, can you help? Even broken ones!
Cool what you doing George, That tool you used! Were can you buy them from or what they called ! Service your callipers bud, seized they look! Dangerous in tractors at speed !
I have been working at a contractor for harvesting sugarcane (Australia) and there was a fastrac with a trailer hitched just behind the cab on a bal. Only downside you have too get your mind around when backing up.

Never seen a shovel used to manoeuvre a wheel, brilliant. You seem more happy now than when you picked it up.
That smile you had on your face said it all George great video 😄

Cracking job George. If my memory serves me well the Citroen DS was the first car to have them and what a car that was.. take care sir..
You're only saying that because farmer Phil said it, grow up fella

Nice video. I watch farmer Phil also I saw the fast trac demo from Russell fast trac. Amazing speed they did pulling a disc.
and we had a great time making that video on the harrow
Oh that’s great 👍👍👍
Good work George and rewarding when the effort rewards you with the correct result...
Good job George, the fresh calipers are a little bonus:):)
I was glad you gave the wheel a kick when you were putting it back on i was waiting for it.... 🤣 Nice one George 👍
Happy is the man when the plan comes together!
Yes George we can all tell how happy you are 😂😂. Best of luck mate an can’t wait for the mini restoration of her. 👍👍
Great vid, George. Glad to see you're a Happy Chappy once again 👍 I think the same Citreon accumulators were used in the Rolls-Royce cars.
i believe that is true regarding the Rolls Royce
Brilliant video George, thank you 👍
Good vid George very interesting keep up the good work they say you learn something new every day
Great video george, good to see it all coming together, should be a nice ride with new tyres on as well.
Brilliant vid George. Really interesting. Just the start I needed for my late shift tonight 👍
Nice job George , comfort all the way 👍👍
Interesting video George as have never had anythin to do with Fast trac before 🤔 great result 👍
I would change the seat and then it will be perfect George !!! I'm glad you bought a fastrac !!!
Deux chevaux George deux chevaux!! I do remember that first vid rockin like a gooden! drove an older 185 in oz, with 15 ton chaser, well rapid!
Excellent George!
Fantastic video as always George.

Job well done George it’s nice to see you smiling!! Those tyres are ready to go do you agree. Fenland Rob
Great work squire!
Hi George nice job nice video
I thought it was Guy Martin flying past at the end there 🤣
Hi George, just out of interest what would that cost to replace ? Just be interesting to put a figure next to it. Great work.
Cracking vid love the fastrac
Another great vid, awesome work lad! Keep them
Coming!!

Good video George keep them coming 👍🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧👌👌🚜🚜👩🌾
How can you work with those sort of gloves on?
I also wonder that! I find wearing gloves is an absolute nightmare!
I can understand when dealing with poo pipes but for this very annoying. Must be his trademark thing!
Nice one George one job of the list😊 Have a good week Thanks
Love it George! 😀
Great video again George
do they list different comfort levels for the spheres on a fastrac like they do for a citroen bx/xm?

and it works extremely well too
Ace , nice one George 👌👌
You can see the grin on George's face from outer space
a very happy man indeed
Nice smooth ride now so she’ll be earning her keep now then
Back in the the yellow George 😎👌
Well george did you decide on the tyres for the fast track yet
i was laughing so loud i woke up the cat at "12-59" umf you aint got a jackstand ........safety cops are every where . good vid George
Good video , some Deutz have external disk brakes on the back axle ,
You looked as happy as a kid at Christmas lol
Great video thanks . Ive always wondered how fastrac suspension works. When the virus is over you need to visit Russell Fastraxx and make a video
and we are looking forward to Georges visit too. The invitation has been sent already to George

She is like a new machine!
A job well done pal. 👍👍👍👍
re bonjour George encore un gros pouce bleu 👍👍👍👍
Nice vid!
That will make it a better ride matey
Hi George. Can the old units be reconditioned or are they now just scrap?.
not worth reconditioning, like pumping up punctured worn out tyre.
George, there’s a firm called Pleiades in Sawtry nr Huntington that remanufactures those Citroen Suspension Spheres - Might be cheaper than new.
So do they self prime oil like a normal oil filter, is there like a header reservoir, cause i noticed you lost some oil, did that need to be replaced ?

What was that u used to loosen the nuts at the start
Worn your sleeve through George! Blame them arm rests in the cabs
Never knew they ran Citroen as their system.
Citroen pioneered the concept 50 years or more ago
And used by Bentley and Rolls Royce no less🏁🇬🇧

@@GeorgeSaunders and you learned all that off the internet too 😏 . Great job and looking forward too to more Fastrac videos in the future
whats that ratchet you used to undo the wheel nuts called
Torque multiplier, this one is specifically for wheel nuts but can undo any nut/bolt as long as there is something to brace it against.
@@GeorgeSaunders thank you as I was interested
Why is your brake disc rusty only on the inside. Is the caliper working correctly?
I'd say the callipers are seized. Needs good service or replacement I think!

@@hellohello3199 Yes, I understand that, but why is only the inside surface rusty?
how much weight are you legaly aloud to tow with a fastrack?
31 ton in Ireland with the right trailer of course
@@russellfastraxx3979 im just thinking with the shortage of hgv drivers and these tractors doing equivalent speeds of hgv on a car license wether it could be an answer
Yeah mate that's fixed it 😁👍
Hi how many bar is on control block?
its about 200 bar. Please do not attempt to tamper with this system unless you understand the system clearly.
What was the symptom that led you to do this repair?
"bunny hopping" from the rear axle. Rock solid rear axle, no suspension at all.
@@russellfastraxx3979 Thanks! I'm getting my first 3185 soon, here in Ontario, Canada to run my Orkel compactor and looking forward to it!

Yes would love to know what that tool is called as well - super handy but no idea what they’re called
Random q, has anyone ever fitted a fifth wheel hitch on the back of a fastrack?
I think it would put it way too high for a trailer, plus I don't think there is enough clearance between the cab and the trailer.
I have been working at a contractor for harvesting sugarcane (Australia) and there was a fastrac with a trailer hitched just behind the cab on a bal. Only downside you have too get your mind around when backing up.
all is right in the world now!!!
george you should show a little more excitement in your videos lol congrats on the fast trac
