Great job Harry. And I will pray for your neck to be completely healed. I’m 57 and climb every day doing tree removals. I feel your pain. I have lower back issues. I hope to keep going for another 3 years. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being 100ft in the air with a rope and a chainsaw. The beautiful scenery from that vantage point is amazing. Take care. God Bless.
Wow 75 and still climbing? Amazing my friend, I'm almost 40 and I feel beat from 10 years of climbing but I guess is also drinking and not eating right contributor.
Watching you reminded me of a story from many years ago when I lived in Sydney, where gums are gods and cannot be removed at all costs. Your running up and down the trunk was something I found amazing when the Canadian born lumberjack eventually removed the tree described below. History:- The gum was planted on the national park side of a fence 1 meter from my home and a wndow that went from floor to ceiling, it was designed to shade the window from the westerly sun in the afernoon, which it did when it grew. But the previous owner had brought it as a sapling/seedling from his farm up in central NSW. When we moved into the house, you could put two thumbs and forefingers together around the trunk, but 11 years later it was 70ft tall, grew over my house, and you couldn't get your arms around the trunk. After 2 years of bushfires in the national park, the last one being stopped less than a mile from my house, I put in an application for it's removal, on the basis of it wasn't a tree endemic to the area, which the council declined. So I called the local fire chief for a coffee and discussion on the fire danger, and as a result, I threatened the council with a lawsuit for reconstruction should my house burn down! The tree was taken own by the Canadian lumberjack 5 days later.
Dealing with a knee injury and climbing currently. So I can feel your disappointment with it coming on randomly during a good day at work. God has a plan! Cheers from Northern California where we have tons of eucalyptus and redwood trees !
Very good job Harry, I was very surprised where you walked up the smooth trunk. Difficult to saw off the smaller branches at the top outside in wind without slipping. God keep you in difficult situations. I have the same very crooked trees in the forest that I have to remove. You secured your anchor point with a butterfly if I saw correctly. Thank you for your really good videos. I can learn a lot from that. God bless you and your team.🙌
I swear the extra weight of that go pro in additon to the helmet with the leverage of looking forward and down all day is enough to strain the neck muscles.. and nice work!!!
Enjoyed the video. Epic tree. Very nice work up there. Some scary moves. Gaff outs are always scary, aye? Especially when you might spin around to the underside of the big leaner. Good save. Thanks for sharing. Rest up.
Harry you might try some extensive mobility stretching focusing on the hips and legs. I understand the issue flared up in your neck and it does for me as well, sometimes resulting in migraine-like headaches if I try to keep pushing. I've found more often than not my headache and upper back/neck pain will be gone when I stand up from some hip rotation stretches, quad and ham stretches. You were sprinting up a tree, you're obviously a beast and in great shape but these tensions can be cumulative. I should add I'm not a Dr, and if the neck pain is stemming from a past, known injury then feel free to disregard, but stretching is free and if you listen to your body as you go it's hard to imagine any harm coming from it. I love your channel and really appreciate you showing us Yanks how it's done Down Under👍🏻
@@TreeClimberHarry that is the hard part and why I'm not 💯 painfree, I get to feeling good and I go for it, two weeks later I'm laying on the floor again whether I planned to or not😄
Running up that tree! 😂😂 Amazing job Harry!! I'm from the Netherlands ans obviously whe don't have trees like that around here. So I am curious what kind of trees are they? Because for me they look a little bit like huge Eucalyptus trees when I look at the trunk. And how high this one was?
Amen count it all Joy if most of us did this in the hard time we would have more peace and Joy because we would learn how to rejoice in the hardships of life you smashed the tree tho man 👊🏼 why don’t you post on your Instagram more often ?
Hello, Harry! Great job! What kind of clothes do you use: your coat and trousers? I'm looking for a good rainproof workwear for tree climbing. Thank you in advance and good luck!
Hi Harry (or any other Australian contract climbers), may I ask how you got doing Contract Climbing work, what was your journey, like did you do your education first and then climb for a company for a few years and then move to contract work or something like that. I may look into getting into the Industry in Australia.
@@1530786 I agree, too many people rush in to their cirt 3 without ever having worked a day on the ground. Just sets them up for a rude shock once they go out into the real world

Even though that was far from easy, you made that look way to easy.
Excellent work!

Yeah this was a big eucalyptus viminalis . About 40 metres, although if it wasn't leaning so hard it'd be pushing 50 haha
