This was extremely helpful, thank you! I successfully used this hack to swap my LCD panel without messing with the digitizers adhesive. Instead of a flathead screwdriver I used a pocket knife. I found it easier to remove the original screen's frame first, and then leave it resting on the original screen until I had detached the replacement screen's frame, as to avoid dust getting in there in the meantime. Not a speck of dust underneath the panel!
    Thanks for your video!

You're welcome! That's a good sequence for keeping the screen clean.

Great solution, will use it in case I’ll decide to change my LCD. Btw have you ever met IPS on those?

On a WiiU? I'm unaware of one.

Could we possibly ever get this with an OLED screen? Possibly even glass like normal touch screens???

I would guess no. Mostly because the Wii U seems pretty unloved.

the wii u is unfortunately designed around a resitive touchscreen so any modern capacitive options won't work

I have a wii u that runs perfectly fine but the only problem is that the touchscreen is very unresponsive, seems like something is making the touchscreen think that something is touching it, thinking it might be some dirt or some thing that’s making it happen, not too sure if I should replace the digitizer or if I should open the gamepad and clean it out and hope it works. I want your input on this situation and hope you can help.

Without analyzing the problem there's no way to know where the issue is.

it’s the bezel on the screen.

I have a question. I took off the plastic bezel/frame and I don’t know how I should reapply it

I forgot to update the comment but I’ve reassembled the gamepad and it works fine but the after market screen is garbage, you can’t even see the edges because it’s just black there. But I saved the original screen so ima just swap the digitizer on to the original screen.

    Hello.
My screen displays an image but it has a sort of a blue tint.
Pretty sure this is the backlight right? Do you know how you would replace this?

Replacing the LCD is what this video is about. If you come up with a more specific solution leave it in the comments!

@@p-minusone I don't know. What you're describing isn't a result of a cracked LCD. Is this a backlight independent of the LCD unit?

I'm not really sure. I guess I should try and take it apart first to identify what's wrong with it?

Um heya idk if youll have an answer to this or even see this comment but my wii u gamepads blue power light when you turn it on slowley fades off and the screen doesnt turn on so i took it apart and actually found that the little orange strip at the top of the screen is ripped and broken so im going to get a new screen but i wanna know if you know thats the reason the power lights been doing that or not if you dont know its fine just havent see anything on the internet about it

    • @PCBurn
      @PCBurn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Probably could cause that. I'm not sure about the power fading off but the screen certainly wouldn't come on if it had the ribbon cable broken. That'd be were to start if it was like that prior to having the issues.
