Old is gold.
Thanks very much most useful and l have been searching ages for some old Airgun tuning which is hard to find.!
Great video most show there guns off and don't know what a screwdriver is or how a air rifle works great to see someone putting the internal first 😊
Thank you, I'm glad I got this on film!
Your channel is a joy! Congrats from Brazil! 🎯
Thanks!

Great video!
Thank you 😊
Another good video!
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks
Very very nice
Thank you
Great video again. Has your rifle got the longer 23 inch barrel ? Ive got two Brittania one has the standard 21 inch barrel the other is 23 inches .
Hi, both of mine have the 21” barrel. A few have been reported with longer barrels, there are lots of variations. There are rare versions with a square rib running under the barrel, and rarer with finger spur sticking out of the grip. I think these were custom made for target shooting.
Cheers, Matt
I love old air rifles. The quality and pride that went into the build.
Is your barrel bent upward from the receiver ?
Hi, no I thought that too when I first saw one. The receiver block slopes upward towards the breech which makes the barrel look like it’s pointing up. My other Britannia is the same. Cheers
Enjoyed this. The detail is about right but could you go into the increase of diameter of the spring guide a bit more? How close to the ID of the spring is the OD of the quide? Is there a method of calculating that it is it just by feel?
Hi, spring guide should be a snug push fit as the spring id obviously gets bigger when compressed.
Cheers
Thanks for the video, just added a Britannia to my collection. The spring is very stiff and the trigger is very heavy. I need to work on these issues. Can you let me know what length the spring should be ?, I suspect a non standard spring has been fitted historically.
I used an Airsporter spring (from Protek supplies) and cut it down to 26 coils. This gave 6.8ftlbs and after tuning 7.8ftlbs with a very soft firing cycle. I’ve had trouble with the trigger, if I set it very light it skips when cocking so I need to reset it a bit heavier. Cheers
Widzę że pan się doskonale oriętuje w tych sprzętach mam w zbiorach swoich wiatrówke ,którą nie mogę zidentyfikować może pan mi pomóc ?
Hi thanks for the interesting video. I'm in the process of conserving a Britannia, its missing its power adjust screw, can you please relay the screw length?. Any assistance will be very much appreciated.
Best regards
Dave
Hi Dave, what do you mean by power adjust screw exactly? Do you mean the small screw the restricts the piston cocking travel to low power? You can do without it if your going to shoot it at full power.
Hi yes, the the small screw that restricts the piston travel and thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I like to use it at full power. I've notice that the trigger pull is very heavy at full power, and I noted in your video that if you use the lower power setting the trigger weight is reduced. the rifle is great in the shoulder, I just want to reduce the pull weight to get the most from the rifle@@dkjngl1
Hi Dave, I do have photos of all the Britannia bolts with sketched measurements. How can I get that to you? You can’t give e mail addresses on here. I’m on Instagram and airgunbbs as ptdunk if you can contact me there?
This from a previous discussion on the same bolt: I think tried to find an imperial bolt that is roughly this size and TPI, and you are correct they are not on the Whitworth chart, although the thread matches a Whitworth thread, the bolt size does not.
Maybe 0.25 inch is the closest bolt size (it may have worn down to 0.20 over time) but this size is only available in 20 TPI.
If you search various Imperial charts you may find one, but I suspect these are specific bolts & threads made by C.G Bonehill at the time. Many early English gunmakers did this.
Sorry to ask a question again did you reblue this one as see theres one on another video of yours blued which looks very nice.
Hi, no they are different Britannias. I specifically bought this worn one as I wanted to put these peep sights on it. I would never do that with the lovely shiny one!
Cheers
@@dkjngl1 You got two, wish i had one, hopefully get one this year.
@@chrisabraham8793 there are a few coming up on auction at Stroud auctions who will post to your home, and protek have one but the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit since I got mine
@@dkjngl1 I looked at the Proteck one but the butt main spring screw is not original which would have been nice if it was, its home made in the advert, which is a shame, would be hard to get an original. I also saw the auction coming up. I think i may pay a visit to view the one at Proteck just to get the feel of the gun. I would rather hold the gun in my hands than buy blind, so i think i may take my chances at Kempton. In the past i have came across these when nobody had any interest in them thinking they were in the Gem class toy like airguns, i think someone i knew had one and tried to give it away, i at the time was more interested in the BSA Standard they had. But there you go.
Ah yes, I’d steer clear of the one at Protek. I don’t know what’s happening with their Britannia prices, only a few years back they were selling well used but complete ones for £420, now £600 for one with dodgy replacement main parts? Crazy. They have been selling for £900 inc fees at auction recently, maybe Protek are thanking their cue from them. I recon your best bet is getting lucky at auction or Kempton. Good luck
Wish to see the trigger mechanism
Now I’ve set it up to shoot well I don’t really want to take it apart again, sorry. It is only the sear on the cylinder, and the trigger in the trigger guard. That’s it. There is more detail in my ‘Britannia air rifle review’ video. Thanks
Kocham stare wiatrówki .
Z jakich lat jest ta wiatrówka?
Biorąc pod uwagę, to co autor podawał w poprzednim nagraniu o tym nietuzinkowym karabinku, jest ok z ok. 1904 roku.
Hi do all these guns have brittania stamped on
Hi, they should have it on the side, but the original stampingd were very light. So If they got rusty and rubbed down it could become very faint. see 21mins in on my full review: th-cam.com/video/hVYnb4fDzU4/w-d-xo.html

Thank you
