My wife and I went from Jeddah to Medinah and Al-Ula/Mada'in Saleh in December 1986. We stayed at the Sheraton outside the then "Muslim-only" zone and then were loaded on to a yellow American schoolbus for the freezing cold trip to the Nabataean tombs - toilet stops behind dunes and very average hotel packed lunch. The destination was worth it though. I could murder an Al-Baik right now or "heart attack on a plate" as we called it. +1👍👍
Thanks for the great story Andrew. 👍. I can only imagine what it was like to travel in Saudi Arabia back then. Things will have certainly changed. We feel quite privileged to have been able to go into the centre of Medinah. It was quite an amazing experience to be amongst all of the pilgrims there. We missed out on Al-Ula this time but hope to return one day. Can't beat a bit of Al Baik! 😉
@@FrugalTravellers I've just remembered some fantastic weathered sandstone rock formations in the desert north of Medinah too, like the ones you see in American westerns + the Hijaz railway 👍😀.

It was water supplied by the mosque. We heard all about the story of the Zam Zam water and understand how special it must be for all pilgrims. How wonderful. 👍
Isn't it beautiful, Carolina! I loved wearing it as it was so elegant and comfortable, and I wish I had the space to carry it with me, instead of having to leave it in New Zealand. I think that Medina was the best place we saw in the Middle East to buy an abaya, in terms of low prices and good workmanship... maybe because of the millions of pilgrims visiting every year, wanting to buy an abaya from such a special place 😁😀 ~ Mandy

Indeed, the polytheists are ˹spiritually˺ impure,1 so they should not approach the Sacred Mosque after this year.2 If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you out of His bounty, if He wills. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise." Surah At-Tawbah - 28

It's incredible how many parts of the world the pilgrims come from and it is heart warming to see them all in so much peace. ❤️. We even met a family from Birmingham, England which is not far from my home town. 😍
Your smile is so adorable. I wish there were more people like you!
Aww... Thank you so very much 🙏 That is so kind. I wish there were more places in the world where people were so kind and friendly as here. The experience really filled our hearts with joy. ❤️❤️
Subhan ALLAH jazak ALLAH ❤
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
Salam aleikum, thank you for filming this. The water you drank was ZamZam water, look it up. Very special.
Thank you so much 🙏 We read about the Zam Zam water and how it saved Hajar and Ismail in the desert. How amazing we got to drink it. It is so special. 🙏😍
You are wonderful people ✨Welcome to Medina❤️ I am from Medina 😄❤️
Thank you! 😃 We had an amazing time in Medina, and have 2 more videos to come from your wonderful city, so look out for them 😊😁 ~ Mandy
Isnt forbidden for non muslims to enter Haram in Medina???
Some bragged about being able to host Olympics, World Cup etc, an event occurs once in every few years. Saudi did it everyday 24/7. Day in and day out.
That's amazing. Thank you for your great comment 🙏🤗
May Allah guide you guys towards Islam, in shaa Allah. Please enjoy your tour and research about Islam.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏😁
@@FrugalTravellers You both are welcome. 😃

3.07 Not cardamom powder, but henna powder
I really like your videos❤❤❤
That's so funny... we actually talk about that in the Al Ahsa video I'vejustfinishedediting, where I think it's cardamom but it's actually henna 😁😃
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! We really appreciate your kind words 🙏😀 ~ Mandy
You seen more in Madinah then our self..thank you
Thank you 🙏 It is a pleasure to share it with you. 😍
You are such an amazing couple. Welcome to your second home KSA.
Something beautiful, I liked it: When you wore the embroidered abaya, you looked like a shining pearl in the dark. The beauty of your face was revealed. ...The Kingdom's vision is 2030, not 2020....
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 😊 I love my abaya.. it is so beautiful! Yes, I accidentally said 2020, so Lee put *2030 in text on the screen to correct my mistake 😅
Thank you again for taking the time to write! ~ Mandy
Welcome to Medina 🙏🏼🌹
Thank you! We had such an amazing time there! 😃😁 ~ Mandy
8:00 In fact, most of the Saudi population are foreigners from Somalia, Sudan, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan, which explains why each person wears it differently from the other.
It was fascinating to see the very different styles of clothes! Thank you for taking the time to share this information 😃🙏
Wow so beautiful Amazing ❤❤
Thanks a lot 😊 We appreciate your kind comment! ~ Mandy 😁😊
Dear brother and sister
My name is Tahir from India today. I saw your video very well🎉
Many many thanks 🙏🤗
من الرائع معرفة تاريخ كل منطقة تتم زيارتها وخصوصا المدينة المنورة
Thank you 🙏 It is such an amazing place with an incredible history. So important to all of the Muslim world. Quite a privilege for us to see. 🙏🙏
Amazing ✌✌
Thanks ✌️
I ask God to guide you to Islam, the religion of peace, the true and clear religion
Thank you for your lovely comment 🙏😁
I'm from Madinah and it's nice to see non-muslims coming even though as I know some where living before, anyway, Madinah is big and you should have visited the other parts since, you only stayed in the centre around the Haram but great coverage and keep up the good work! was nice watching your vlogs about Saudi Arabia really :)
Thank you so much 🙏 We did explore further afield and made some other videos. We loved our time in Saudi Arabia. Thanks so much for making us welcome. 🙏❤️

The free water you drink from is our holly water called zamzam water
That is wonderful to know. Thank you so much for sharing this information 🙏😊 ~ Mandy
Just a correction* the prophet peace be upon him wasn't exiled from Mecca, he migrated from it to Medina .
Thank you for that correction 🙏 😊
i wish you both all good for this life and afterlife
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. We wish the same for you too 🤗🙏
Amazing Masha Allah! Thanks!
Thank you so much 🙏 Masha Allah 🙏
Was that zam zam water that you drank at the Nabawi Mosque? I think that is zamzam water, that a very special water, found by phropet Ismail, that water brought from Mecca
It was water supplied by the mosque. We heard all about the story of the Zam Zam water and understand how special it must be for all pilgrims. How wonderful. 👍
I would certainly wear that outfit at home. It is stunning on you and I find I prefer clothing that comes with meaning and memories.
From Europe & America 🇺🇸 Canada 🇨🇦 Australia 🇦🇺 New Zealand 🇳🇿 China 🇨🇳 Russia 🇷🇺 all race all 5 continent of the world 🌍 come to Madino & Mecca 🕋
Thank you so much for your beautiful words ♥️🤗🙏
You have to read story of prophet Muhammad SAW...
I'm eating breakfast, watching you eat breakfast. I feel like we've gone to the cafe together!!
Wouldn't that be fun. Hopefully we do one day. ❤️
Greetings from Pakistan 😊 You guys made a beautuful vlog ❤
Thank you so much 🙏. We hope to visit Pakistan one day 🙏

Thank you, and Eid-ul Adhar Mubarak to you too 😀😁 ~ Mandy
That's interesting I didn't know none muslims could enter now, like your videos thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. The law changed in 2021, and non Muslims can now enter Medina, but not Mecca.
Great videos and hello from San Francisco,ca and videos in turkey or Yemen ?
Hello 👋 Greetings. We do hope to make videos from there next time we visit. 🙏😊
@@FrugalTravellers Ty
These are sacred places for worship, not for tourism or enjoyment. You should'nt enter it if u r not a Muslim. You can walk around it far away, but non-Muslims are not allowed to enter it.. Respect Islam and Muslims and holy places.
We asked before we went inside, and were advised it was OK if we dressed appropriately. We didn't mean to offend the incredibly kind people we met in Saudi Arabia and Muslims from all around the world.
Saudi Arabia is gone after MBS take control
Allah said ; "O believers!

You must have experienced the peace and tranquility in Medina
It was incredibly peaceful and tranquil. The people there were so content and welcoming to us. We thoroughly appreciate it 🙏
@@FrugalTravellers I read that the companions of prophet Mohammed (pbuh) used to miss Makkah alot due to its immense pull as prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) prayed for Makkah. So prophet Mohammed (pbuh) prayed for Medina. You should visit Makkah also. Love and respect from Pakistan

Thank you for your kind words 🙏🤗
on a positive note, this is good place to visit.
It certainly is. ❤️
