Why are you doing splits in the intro like a female? Better question, why are you doing redundant destruction test on knifes? Chopping bricks for what? If I was the knife company I'd have your channel shut down.
Someone's mad at how good the knife is and what it stands up too again it's a military knife not a kitchen knife man be real 😂 it needs to do all this to prove its longevity you don't want to go out spending hundreds on the same knife because it can't with stand a bit of nature... that would be silly and what the Chinese knifes do unlike USA MADE.... I watched this and was happy there's a good product and people arnt getting ripped off... you on the other hand getting pissy because a knife needs to withstand drops, falls, hits and misses and still hold up to whatever it needs to do and this dudes channel serves the very purpose of showing everyone their favorite knife in action and how they fair against legitimate use and or misuse....
The fact that it's consistent with your other tests is what makes it good and interesting to me, seems like their build quality is therefor consistent.
Excellent job, as usual. I think the major knife companies should be hiring you as a consultant and letting YOU design a knife to your specs. I’d buy it. You know more about what it takes to make a survival knife than almost anyone else.
Thank you so much for testing the Gerber strongarm, I myself have a strongarm i was wanting to know how strong the knife is. I really appreciate for someone like you to do such testing on knives. It really shows how good the knife is ❤👍🙌
Very impressive for a budget blade, I like it. Excellent pull-ups and Jean Claude would be proud of your flexibility. Red Bull and Gerber should be sponsoring you after this one, haha.
For a stabber I would not pick it. It's too blunt I experienced. It can be called combat knife. But for combat it's not the best choice. Stabbing that is. Ontario SP5, SP1, SP3 are already much better choices regarding combat.
It's Definitely on my list to add to the collection I just got my cold steel master hunter Japan model today !! I truly injoy gaining the knowledge of what knives can be put through thanks Joex for another great review 👍
Great video, as always! I wanted to buy Cold Steel SRK V3, and now I'm thinking about this knife. What would you recommend? Looks like Gerber strongarm is slightly stronger.
@@joex Thank you for the reply and your awesome content. I bought the Gerber Strongarm in Warsaw for about a 100 euros. The problem is, I want more knives now.

I wish o could post pictures to show how I have it set up now...also just finished sharpening it now it's very very sharp.. Where is a car door when I need one 🤣
Good job. The only drawback to this knife is an average edge retention. Like many other knives, you'll have to resharpen it on a regular basis. Is is quick and easy, so it is not a real problem. For everything else, it's funny how these (US made) Gerber outclass so many expensive "supersteel-survival-bullshit" knives. Heat treating is everything.
The Strong arm is like a well built old Toyota Helix. It will always be better than the newest and high end poorly built Lamborghini. Sure the Lambo is a flex on the poors when it wants to work, but the Helix will put in work when ever you ask it too and you're not afraid to put a scratch on it.
Budget isn't my brand but when you find affordable stuff that works it means you can get extras for backups or replacements if you lose one or for loaning out to someone, AND it means you know yer not pissing yer money away 👍
Thx Joe. Only when the metal has passed your test is it tested. No ranking without a hardcore test. After that, the manufacturers should first set their price 😉
Wow. Ok, you convinced me that Gerber makes a good knife. I never liked Gerber and had a lot of bad experiences with their products, but man this thing really took it like a champ. Thanks MR.X you are the best!
Gerber StrongArm stays STRONG!!! Awesome... I was wagering his knife would once again provide another tough, challenging test run.. To me, it appears to have impressive results given the difficult destructive testing plus timeline to the endgame. It is great to see relative consistency in destructive torture testing and abuse-type endurance. I have two StrongArms... the coyote-brown 420HC and the Limited Edition grey BDZ1. Both are really good, reliable allrounder field-knives going mild to wild. Great Show JoeX! Another request to please make a video for the KA-BAR Warthog.
I LOVE this series, PLEASE make a "Let's Break It Again" or whatever you wanna call it type of video, where you retest profound failures or wins from the past, to see if they still hold up. If you have the funding, it'd be nice to see a few knives of the same model and steel, especially in the budget to mid realm, from different batches (purchase the knives at different times, wait for a few months between buying a duplicate) @JOE X I think a real long term potential of your channel is to test the current batches from each knife maker, to see if they are still holding up to what they should. These videos don't even have to be long, you can just test the most hardcore actions on each of your samples, each sample might only take up 1-2 min of screentime.
