How would you compare it with the LMF2 you tested both knifes. I have prodigy fine edge one that i destroyed sharpening and one brand new. I learn the best way to sharpen this type of knifes is in House of Knifes by a professional . I like the Strong Arm but it is almost identical with the Prodigy. Thanks for your opinion. Alex

You could just turn the knife sideways in the hand and stab through the ribs too. 2: slashing might cause a lot of bleeding but it probably wouldn’t kill. You need to puncture the internal organs, and why not just use the point to do that? This knife is no chopper. You’d need a big blade to do damage with chopping.

Ive had many knives, but this is the only one so far that has been able to survive my use to the point where I have to sharpen it.

By far the best knife Gerber has produced! Im glad I bought one, the steel is tough and holds an edge damn near like 1095 and is easy to sharpen. I knew this knife wouldn't break. Definitely a hardcore test!

you should really wear a thick leather collar around your neck when doing those pull ups, to protect the jugular.... you know safety 1st, no one needs to die 1st so that no one has to die later, LOL just kidding I know that type of test would result in a bend not break, sudden impact is what causes breakage in metal not applied force, just subscribed like what I saw thumbs up
Mayor Fuglycool I've seen a bunch of your videos now and know that if a blade makes it that far to the final test the it wont bend or break, saw your video on a Chinese metal knife that looked cool but the minute you struck the brick it broke into 3 pieces, in fact the previous test before the pull ups the one that you hammer the blade about half way in and you put your entire weight on the handle side should truly be the ultimate test of the metal's strength, if it was going to bend then that's the test that would do it not your weight evenly distributed on both sides although you are putting stress in the middle the pipe would have to be extremely thin to be the equivalent of the previous stress test, thank you for the videos it truly shows which blades are quality blades, and people can bitch and complain all they want that it's not supposed to be used that way, that and the other, I'm sure most of those complaints would mainly come from the manufacturer of the blade that failed your tests, lol me personally I want 1 good multi purpose blade that does it all, Mayor which one is your all time favorite? cost is important too so if you have a top 5 then that would be fine, especially if they perfume about the same but cost a fraction of the better one on your list. thanks

I am sure that people would change their mind about blades if they had to carry them in the worst environments on planet Earth. I had actually ordered the exact same knife a few days ago, & where I'm from, it's more than a bit pricey. However, this video convinced me that I made a good choice. You put that knife through hell & it was still in perfect combat condition. Thanks for the awesome review video, not to mention the closure.
You definitely give an honest review testing the durability. I'd like to see you go into different areas of testing depending on the knife type. With this one I would have like to see you do some rope cutting, and feather sticking. Also maybe some batoning some logs.

I was surprised how strong the Gerber strongarm was. Awesome review thank you ! I just bought one the non serration version ! And waiting for mine to come in the mail it was half price. I usually don't like Gerber knives but the strongarm is not just strong, it actually is a really good looking knive !

Hey, awesome video and great tests, I personally think these are great tests to show the strength but I think you should also do some batoning and some tests for the strength of the tip.what do you recommend ,the straight edge or serrated one cuz I personally choose straight?
+EspionageVeteran Well, batoning is highly debated on my channel. There are many others that baton, and I don't really want to steal their fame. Also, batoning does take more time up in the video. I have debated to bring it back into the video, and I might just do that :) Personally, I like the straight blade models. I like to shave feather sticks and tinder with the sharp blade closest to the hilt, and serrated models don't allow tinder to be shaved well. A note on the pommel, it is actually not connected to the blade for electrical insulation in case the need to cut power wires arises, the operator will be protected
That's the LMF2. The Stromgarm is full tang. The LMF2 is not because it was designed for downed aircrew to be able to cut through a cockpit. Hence the split tang design.

Mayor Fuglycool I've seen a bunch of your videos now and know that if a blade makes it that far to the final test the it wont bend or break, saw your video on a Chinese metal knife that looked cool but the minute you struck the brick it broke into 3 pieces, in fact the previous test before the pull ups the one that you hammer the blade about half way in and you put your entire weight on the handle side should truly be the ultimate test of the metal's strength, if it was going to bend then that's the test that would do it not your weight evenly distributed on both sides although you are putting stress in the middle the pipe would have to be extremely thin to be the equivalent of the previous stress test, thank you for the videos it truly shows which blades are quality blades, and people can bitch and complain all they want that it's not supposed to be used that way, that and the other, I'm sure most of those complaints would mainly come from the manufacturer of the blade that failed your tests, lol me personally I want 1 good multi purpose blade that does it all, Mayor which one is your all time favorite? cost is important too so if you have a top 5 then that would be fine, especially if they perfume about the same but cost a fraction of the better one on your list. thanks

I think that the Glock 78/81 are my fav all around knives. Also, the Becker BK20 and Mora Companion are up there.
I am sure that people would change their mind about blades if they had to carry them in the worst environments on planet Earth. I have been in some of the worst places, and I was glad to have a tool that didn't break ;)

I had actually ordered the exact same knife a few days ago, & where I'm from, it's more than a bit pricey. However, this video convinced me that I made a good choice. You put that knife through hell & it was still in perfect combat condition. Thanks for the awesome review video, not to mention the closure.

You definitely give an honest review testing the durability. I'd like to see you go into different areas of testing depending on the knife type. With this one I would have like to see you do some rope cutting, and feather sticking. Also maybe some batoning some logs.

I was surprised how strong the Gerber strongarm was. Awesome review thank you ! I just bought one the non serration version ! And waiting for mine to come in the mail it was half price.
I usually don't like Gerber knives but the strongarm is not just strong, it actually is a really good looking knive !

Used this video to determine if I wanted the Strongarm and I can honestly say I absolutely love that I bought it! I would like to request the BG Ultimate Pro however as I already own it and am curious how it would hold up to your testing procedures

Hey, awesome video and great tests, I personally think these are great tests to show the strength but I think you should also do some batoning and some tests for the strength of the tip.what do you recommend ,the straight edge or serrated one cuz I personally choose straight?
+EspionageVeteran Well, batoning is highly debated on my channel. There are many others that baton, and I don't really want to steal their fame. Also, batoning does take more time up in the video. I have debated to bring it back into the video, and I might just do that :)
Personally, I like the straight blade models. I like to shave feather sticks and tinder with the sharp blade closest to the hilt, and serrated models don't allow tinder to be shaved well. If you are around rope and cords, then the serrated model is better.

Great video. New to knives and purchased this particular one before seeing your review and am pleased with my choice. Any thoughts on advantages/disadvantages of this blade vs the full straight variety without the serrated portion?
I like the serrated for general survival, but for skinning game a straight blade is preferred.

+Jason Abston Well, the Glock 78, KaBar BK9, and ontario SP6 make good survival blades. The newest BK20 is really awesome,it's more of a camp tool than a overall survival blade. . . But you can still pack it effectively.

hi there this is the first video of yours ive seen, my friend just gave me a black plain edge one, it is like a smaller prodigy which I also have and enjoy. although i despise 420hc, the design is really good and a great tactical knife one could use to escape in a pinch, love the sheath too

A note on the pommel, it is actually not connected to the blade for electrical insulation in case the need to cut power wires arises, the operator will be protected

That's the LMF2. The Stromgarm is full tang. The LMF2 is not because it was designed for downed aircrew to be able to cut through a cockpit. Hence the split tang design.
