      That made me laugh out loud. I could see my dad having that same type of interaction with my stepmom. It's great to see older couples that are still in love and affectionate with each other. 🥰

    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

      Which model is the slimmer doorbell?? Specifics please.
      Also when program doorbell to motion detection.
      Where does it save the video??
      Do I need a subscription? If so, how much a month??
      Where does it save the videos?? In the cloud or on a memory card?? ?

      You don’t need a subscription if you use a USB drive to save your video files. But if you wat to save to cloud with thumbnails, I think it’s $6 a month per camera. You’d have to go to Blink.com to find out for sure. And I didn’t know they had a slimmer model, that’s new to me. You may have to Google that one. I don’t have to pay anything because I’ve been with them for many years and I have 6 cameras and one doorbell.

    Thanks for this useful video. Can you tell me if there is a way to link it to a tv; echo show; etc to act as a monitor?

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think so, you may want to ask Blink, the manufacturer. You can monitor on your phone or IPad. It does alert you on your phone or iPad when motion is detected and creates a video when cameras are Armed. When disarmed, nothing is being recorded unless they press the bell button.

    Do you have a blink indoor chime or something compatible ? What are you using hear inside

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s the existing door chime ( bell) inside the house. It connects to the blink doorbell,when you press the button, it rings both.

    Did you kill the power to the wires? If not, anything I need to be careful of?

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s 24 volts, I didn’t turn the power off, but that’s up to you. They say to always turn off the power but if you touched the wires together, all it would do is ring the bell. I wouldn’t do it barefoot just because it is electricity.

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, it’s only 24 volts but if you’re not experienced and are afraid of electricity,, I would suggest turning it off. You don’t want to accidentally short the wires and fry the transformer. It’s just better to turn it off. But like I said, it was just 24 volts and I was careful.

    I thought it would work without the batteries when it is hooked up to 16 or 24 volt.???
    You say it will not . That is what I was looking for so now you need to install a AA battery eliminator..

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The batteries operate the camera like all the other Blink cameras, and basically the button is just another on/off switch for your doorbell for inside the house. Just a doorbell button. I wish they did use that 16/24 volts to operate the camera but they didn’t.

      Yes, you still need the batteries…. Being wired is so that you can ring your inside bell only. It does nothing else, does not supply power to the Blink, it still needs the batteries.

    Hi, so the wired mode is for able to make sound the Analog chime? Nor for supply energy to the blink doorbell? Not for supress the use of the bateríes?. The wires provide or receive AC voltage?

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The batteries are still needed either way you choose, that's how the Blink door camera gets its power. In the wired mode, all that does is act as an trigger switch to activate your inside doorbell chime, your inside bell is normally 24 or 12 volts AC. The door bell button becomes just a switch when you program your Blink doorbell to activate this switch. Hope that helps.

  • @bubz3636
    @bubz3636 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why did you keep the old doorbell? Can the blink replace an existing doorbell? Great vid by the way very helpful.

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t want to put the Blink where the old button was because it’s so far from the door, should of been installed closer to the door when the house was built, and taking out the old button would of left wires exposed and a hole. I figured I’d leave them both, didn’t hurt anything. But the first thing they see now when they come to the house is the Blink. Either one works but they get to be on video as soon as they walk up. But you can remove the old button if you want, that’s just an option.

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And yes, it will wring the bell inside if you wire it and therefore will replace the old door button.

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022
      @JackOfAllTrades2022  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The two wires go to the blink in the back of the provided plate and connected to your door bell push bottom, doesn’t matter which way, it’s AC and can be wired either way.
