Im a 60 year old retired Rocker but it touches my heart to see Younger folks bringing back REAL music, thank you for making my days a lot nicer, keep on keepin on...Peace
Oh Reina, Oh Reina, Oh Reina ... if I heard no other song today, my day would be complete hearing just this one. Reina, I am going to ask my family to play this if they have any sort of ceremony for me after I die (73 yo now)... Reina, you are a Musical Poet ... the equal of Bob Dylan and John Prine ... and you better believe it girl, because you are!
When my mother was in her 90s I sang this song to her…she looked at me with amazement in her eyes….asking me how I knew this song, she said that her brothers use to sing it when she was a small girl ❤I’m 68 years old now

Thanks for a song that's very dear to me. In 2016, following the terrorist attack that killed 87 people in my city of Nice, France, the jazz festival was cancelled out of respect for the victims. That year, the festival's president should have been Melody Gardot. She came back for the 2017 edition, whose president was Herbie Hancock, and, on the occasion of a short memorial ceremony held on the opening day, gave us a stripped down rendition of "Wayfaring Stranger." Probably the most emotional moment of music in my life. So Reina, thanks for choosing that song which brings me solace. May you live in peace.
TLOU2 is supposed to be extremely accessible to the visually impaired, so I might give it a go. I loved watching let's play videos of the first. Thanks for giving my gloomy Sunday the perfect soundtrack.
I’ve gotten in the habit of hitting thumbs up even before the music starts, never been disappointed or tempted to change that estimation. Missed two concerts because of the quarantine got tickets for Louisville and holding my breath it goes through.
My favourite cover is Johnny Cash, but Reina expresses the feel of the song wonderfully and a nice touch sitting on the beach with just an acoustic. I checked other covers and Ed Shenanigan was near top of the list. Needless to say I’m no fan of Ed but I was totally unprepared for what I heard. It was like the heart of the song had been ripped out and thrown in the trash. I had to return to Reina, she rescued the heart and nursed it back to health.
Thank you Reina (and Toni) for keeping in touch with music during what must be a very difficult time in the US at present. Let’s hope there is light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel for all your fans throughout the World. Meantime keep safe and well with greetings from Norfolk, England
"There’s nothing like an empty beach in the early morning to make you feel you’re the only person left on the earth." This must be why I always feel happier on a riverbank or a lake shore. That was nice. Great windscreens too!
That song haunted me for years-was a freshman in High School, went to solo & ensemble contest, not knowing what to expect, extremely nervous-sang the parts going to see my mother & father backwards-knew what to expect the next year when I went & made division rating to advance on to district, regional, & state finals.
One of the most hardworking you tubers, I am doing some covers also and the work required to learn, record mix and upload vids every week is insane. My hats off to this wonderful artist!🇬🇧
A beautiful Spiritual that I understand is so old that we don’t know just how old it is. Beautifully sung at the right tempo. Reina looks so beautiful in this video. Great audio and video.
Bold choice singing my favorite folk/gospel song...especially on the beach. Interesting choice. You probably have the smoothest voice around these days. Thanks for sharing it with everyone!
I have heard many renditions of this song but have never been moved, by it, as much as by yours. The interesting thing, about the song, is that not only is it presented differently by each singer but no two versions are lyrically the same.
This Reina del Cid has some sort of magic going on. It's either her voice, or the music she picks or something else but half the time I hear something new from her ... well let's just say my eyes get a bit watery.
Dads favorite frum idol, Burl Ives, they met at dinner for vets,Jubilee singers headlined. Dad took mandalin onto Utah beach D-day. used for hand therapy later as hands near blowd off. ive only played it a bit ,, but need to for days sake...
I really dig your take on stuff..you kicked the song out as good as it gets...no bells no whistles just you the wind the the waves and a truck load of soul
Reina est une superbe artiste. Je l’ai découvert sur TH-cam pendant le confinement lié au COVID en Nouvelle Calédonie. Depuis je regarde ses vidéos très régulièrement.
1st, Thank You for this song, you played it well. 2nd, thank you to whoever filmed this for showing closeups of the chords used, so that I can play it well, too. 👍👍👍😃😃😃
One of my favorites...still strange to see you on the west coast. Jack White sang this song in the film Cold Mountain. Definitely worth taking a listen.

Very nice. Simplicity. One voice, one guitar, one zoom, one take.
This was my grandfather's favorite hymn. He was a farmer and civil war veteran who died in 1932. Thanks, Reina.
39MercFlathead. Wow! Civil War vet?! Dang, that’s history.
I too like this hymn or this kind of melody. Do you know its specific name for this kind of hymn? I wish to search more

How old are you?
I like the sound of the ocean in the background.
Yes, it connects with the idea of crossing the waters of Jordan.
The sound was really good from the wireless mic. Guitar and voice really came through in a noisy environment.
Great song, great job
Yeah, the ocean sounds beautiful!!! Waves crashing add to the song
Mother nature is the best percussion
the water, a pretty woman & guitar, and a damn good song make for peace & quiet.
Wow...just Wow....
Yes! Thank you!
Brought tears to my eyes
I love that you can sing so low...

And styling the Chuck Taylor’s in the sand! I love this song.
GUITARE/VOIX...sublime...SUBLIME
Thanks for playing my request. 👍👍👍 Great rendition!

Louisville??!
Seriously??
Oh, man! 😞
I missed London which should have been 16th June. Gutted. I have to wait till 27th Jan.

Epic Reina!
So proud to know you.

I missed church this week, thanks. Great hymn !
Reina on the shore with a guitar is my spirit animal
Hauntingly hypnotic. I close my eyes and see all loved ones that have gone on before me. Thank you.
In this awful age of unrest and disease it is always comforting to listen to a beautiful song by Reina del Cid
So many words one could use to describe this performance. Beautiful. Haunting. Deep. Touching. Heartfelt. Soulful. Or you could just say Reina!!!
Beautiful. Thank you

Thanks so much. My favorite song. Great setting.
You sang this song correctly, a slow sad song. I remember my mother had a LP of Tennessee Ernie Ford singing this.
Haunting.... The waves in the background make it more so.
Pls, don ' t be sad. Love is with you

Beautiful.
This song will always remind me of 1917. Beautiful performance and videography.
That song haunted me for years-was a freshman in High School, went to solo & ensemble contest, not knowing what to expect, extremely nervous-sang the parts going to see my mother & father backwards-knew what to expect the next year when I went & made division rating to advance on to district, regional, & state finals.
I performed this for a high school program fifty-eight or nine years ago. My fingers will no longer shape the chords, but I still love it. Thank you.
The ocean sound in the background is the icing on the cake.
I just don't have words to describe this. Best rendition I ever heard. 🥀
One of the most hardworking you tubers, I am doing some covers also and the work required to learn, record mix and upload vids every week is insane. My hats off to this wonderful artist!🇬🇧
Absolutely beautiful. One of the best versions I’ve heard.
Just a thank you for your purity and grateful for you sharing

You're awesome Reina - thank you!
This is one of my favorite tunes. I believe this will be just as popular in 100 years from now.
Powerful hymn.

Thank you for being there for us in troubling times. You are a rose among thorns.
Reina what a clever way of using the waves lapping the shore as a background to this beautiful haunting song. Awesome !! 🙏👍🙏 x

Keep on gaming and playing marvelous music of Yours!
Cheers!

Shades of Joan Baez, well done. You have captured the feel of this classic folk song.

Just hearing those chords on the acoustuc guitar laid perfectly in, is half the fun!
Yeah I found this channel just being an acoustic gearhead, absolutely love this girl and she is top notch on the guitar.
Well done! Nice setting and the sound was remarkably pure given the outdoor beach venue. Pete Seeger would give you a big applause.
Every time you put out a new video it makes my day a little better. Your an inspiration Reina!!
Agreed. And I don't remember ever hearing all those verses. They are comforting in the midst of Covid 19.
Wow!
