Wait. You were confused as to why the character was shooting in the direction they were facing??
@@illogik That's not how this setting works. Cursor Aim makes your abilities go towards the enemy nearest your cursor, rather than towards your actual cursor. It makes some abilities completely miss all the time because you cant aim in front of an enemy to deal for travel time for example

Dude I cant thank you enough, I was looking high and low for the setting to turn down effects. I was seriously struggling to see what world bosses were doing with all the shit going on.
But how in the world did it never occur to you to check all options settings ?
I mean that was litterly the first thing i did before even moving my char after i entered on first char. Change everything to how i prefer it in other games if i could.

"Battle Effects" just didn't translate to "other players abilities" to me. Every game calls this something a bit different and this time around I didnt make that connection. What about this offended you so much?

You must be joking right. He is literally doing the same gameplay action in both "examples" for that cursor aim function. He isnt explaining what is the difference or the feature of that checkbox in the first place. Is it a poor aim assist? What is it doing... He could at least hover over the explanation text that is probably assigned to that checkbox... Im more confused after i watched that XD

@@Marco-929 if the box is checked it aims the ability at the center of the enemy hit box. If you turn it off, it aims exactly where your cursor is.
Also Battle Outline is very helpful for melee classes. Under that auto aim settings.

When it comes to the visual effects, the second abyss dungeon boss has a mechanic that is UNSEEABLE on allies if you have your graphics set to “include buff effects of party members” which makes it almost impossible to do without voice comms, so please before going into that raid make sure you change the settings to “include raid members” before doing that one

Which Abyssal Dungeon? Which particular part or specific boss of that particular a/d that does which mechanic?

Holy this is what was messing with me trying to clear mob groups with rifle stance sometimes. I looked thru the settings myself to see if anything made sense but when I saw "cursor aim" I just assumed it meant aiming with the mouse rather than keyboard or something. Thank God I saw this vid

Dropping a comment just to say thank you, even on my deathblade's purge ability I was finding my aim being completely off target and that really sucks with such a powerful, one-shot type of ability. Also making my cursor bright pink is a huge plus so again, thank you!

largest cursor size is only "comically huge" at lower resolutions. At 4k+ res, it's a boon.

It also helps to remove camera shake! :D A lot of classes are full of camera shake and removing it makes it less cool and impactful, sure, but it keeps your screen on point and its very helpful for pvp and raids.

When you bring up the TAB map, press the middle mouse button in the center of it and you can drag it around your screen. I leave mine on in the upper left and can plan moves much better than the little mini-map. It frustratingly keeps turning it off all the time when you talk to someone or transition somewhere, but its one click to bring it back up. Also, you'll prolly have to reposition it when you go to a new area - that's annoying - but its only once per transition.

I knew targeting was shit, I'm glad you shared this. I've been slightly missing targeted attacks over and over and getting so damn mad about it. Lol
The aiming tip came in handy for sure. It makes sense now as to why my ranged abilities would aim at the side of the mob.

the cursor size is link to the screen resolution so the 'Largest' setting on a 4k screen is actually the 'Large' setting on a 1080p screen. Normal is quite small on 4k.
Cursor colour i had no idea, in big battles im Loosing mine onscreen so this is helpful...if i can log in on euro server ill be changing those settings for sure.

Don't forget "Force 21:9 Aspect Ratio"! Yes, that will put black bars at the top and bottom of your screen, but it will let you see approximately 30% further. This is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL in PvP and high-end PvE content.

So 'Cursor Aim' On means 'don't aim at the cursor' but Off means..... aim at the cursor! Sounds like something got lost in translation there!
I turned on the Battle Outline too so I was more visible, but I'll also increase my cursor size next time!

Had to login just to say thank you for this. The aiming thing has been maddening for me since release. I couldn't understand what was going on and kept tinkering with my mouse sensitivity as all my shots were off center I thought I was just shaking or something lol was really giving me a complex until I fixed this and haven't had any issues since.
