Your videos have been extremely helpful but I have to say - sometimes I get discouraged and question if I really want to continue playing this game. There is so much too it and it stresses me out thinking of the amount of time I would have to invest to truly play it. Is that a common fear that you hear from new players? There just seems to be so much to do/keep track of and I am not used to playing a game like this.
One of the things I have enjoyed in this game is how streamlined the side quests are. I have this weird impulse to click on all those side quests and complete them. They all seem to flow well with the main quest lines. Love it.
I like that everything for the most part moves forward. Yes some are retrieval quests and back and forth dialogue but they move you forward on the map roughly around where the main quest is taking you
The moment I realized that Mokoko Seeds can get placed in areas outside the map in the black void and that paths were often straight up false terrain/walls I stopped bothering to find them myself and just went to guides. I don't mind looking for collectibles when there is a way to legitimately deduce the location through exploration, but when it becomes a case of 'walking against every wall and rock JUST in case'? Nah.
Yea I'm casual but do like "off to the side" stuff like getting the adventurer's tome up to the 70+, but not dropping my casual playtime in to stuff like that either. Online map time.
Completely with you guys, I love collecting these stuffs ingame, exploring, doing everything blind, but I gave up after the first few maps. This game design I hate, when they actively go against the very nature of their game that they created. These hidden "no way to tell" walls forces you to go agains every single wall. Who does that, and also guys creating the guide for us, were they going agains every single wall ingame, and looking behind every shadow?
One additional thing for the UI bit... "Player outline" can be very useful to enable. It _somewhat_ ruins the aesthetics by putting an outline around you, but you'd see yourself much clearer when you are in the thick of a huge battle where a lot of stuff is going on.
It's still incredibly overwhelming and I've barely scratched the surface so far! This is immensely helpful but just goes to show how flipping complicated this game is!
Great vid, probably one of the best tips and tricks vids I've seen in awhile. Too many T&T vids cover basic things that anyone with a bit of attention can pick up by browsing the game. It's those things that are hidden a few steps behind that initial veil that are frustrating to find information on, but very few advanced vids cover them since they're...well not quite advanced. This vid covers allot of that stuff. Keep up the good work man!
A lot of tips and tricks vids for a lot of games are sadly clickbait most of the time from creators who have barely ever touched the game sadly. Not our style here. Glad you found it useful!

Watching these videos make clear for me 1 thing. This is a second job and i want to enjoy a game, when are they going to learn games are for fun and not a chore. Thanks for your explanation. It was very informative and well writed.
It's an MMO. Their core design is that of a job in terms of time investment and daily dedication if you want to do the end game content. The trick is making the grind a rewarding and enjoyable experience (or as much as grinding can be at least). It sounds like your interests in games just isn't compatible with the genre. Which is fine. The majority of gamers don't enjoy Dark Souls despite what online opinion may lead you to believe. It caters to a certain type of player and you just arent it.
@@nickbohannon2184 I agree they need to make a competionist/farmer/time sink mode that they have for people that want to enjoy those things along with a mode for those that just want to just have fun with some quest/kill mobs/raids problem solved.
I can’t even believe I’m playing lost ark. I still remember when they released the first trailer for Korea like 7 years ago and it crushed me knowing I would have to wait if it ever came. Now it’s here and it’s everything we dreamed ….. and the servers work !!!

I watched it a few days after I started playing, and had already made a couple mistakes, but nothing I can't remedy, and no more surprises, thanks to you. As a Casual gamer, i can definitely tell you that some of these things are straight QoL enhancements and I thank you for uploading this video. I do like to do end game Raids and Such, but it's nowhere near as often as other gamers and I'll tend to lose track, so some of these things makes the transition back into end-game a little less rough.
Another tip: Emoting, for those who dont know; Hold alt and then hold left click and drag mouse You can change what emotes to put in your emote wheel by pressing y - Hope this helps
this is a really good guide thank you! the more i learn about this game the more impressed i am. like it actually seems like the devs want to make some things right with this game. for example having the option to skip doing dungeons for a few days as a casual player without losing out on loot. that's such a good mechanic.
This is pretty much the first video i have watched on lost ark. Kept hearing about it but didnt look into it. This looks like an insanely awesome game from someone who wasnt on any hype trains.
@@lubosaust7454 I agree. The camera angle is similar in some moments but the combat I feel is more technical and has more purpose. I have to battle with intention. In Diablo. It's kinda just button mashing
I really appreciated how accessible this was. I told myself I was just going to blindly dabble with the game, but I lied to myself. I can’t do it. I’m too much of a completionist nerd. This was helpful to a newcomer, especially because I’m always afraid to mess things up for myself later. This alleviated a ton of anxiety.
Just started playing this game, and I doubt a channel of this size reads outdated comments- but man, you have THE BEST presentation skills of anyone I've ever seen on TH-cam. If you weren't a broadcast journalism major you have quite the gift for "public" speaking.
I’ve played tons of different mmorpgs, BDO, Albion Online, New World, GW2, ESO etc. and I could never get into any of them. I played max 1 week and realized that I truly didn’t enjoy playing them even though the genre seemed to fit every little inch of my wish list, but I just couldn’t get into it. Then this game came along. I was a little scared to try it at first because of the controls, but I gave it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is single-handedly the most fun I have had on a game by myself in a REALLY long time. I was looking for a game exactly like this. I’m so happy I finally found my game.
I couldnt get into any of the MMOs you've mentioned either, because they suck. I've played wow all the way up until 3 years ago, and it's the only game and now lost ark as well as an old Korean MMOs I used to play that lost ark frankly seems to be heavily inspired by....it's like a mix of the two. Just look up infinite dungeons in dekaron and compare them with chaos dungeons. Gear progression in lost ark is very similar to wow.

Super helpful video. As a side note, Roster is not account wide. Not region wide even. Roster is only server wide. A lot of people lost their founder stuff not realizing that stuff is ONLY bound to the server you claim it on (pets, mounts, currencies, etc.)
I can get that but sounds like having different characters if very useful and maybe by the time you get to high end game the new classes might be out or you could take a break by this point until they are? Just a friendly suggestion xx
Good reason to take it slow, explore lateral, and maybe stockpile resources with a few alts. Leave two or 3 spots open for the new classes of course and save some gold for knowledge xfer. Then turn main into alt.
@@pokermitten9795 doesn’t seem worth it to use gold for knowledge transfer. You still have to go through the story regardless. The story is already pretty easy.

the first tip is so important, for me atleast, i wanted to be a full on wardancer kicking boxing style main because i'm a one trick windwalker monk main in WoW but after trying out other classes while getting my wardancer to 50 and ilv420 i realized i really only had the most fun playing the glass on a PvP basis so then i wsnted a new main which also has more skillcap compare to wardancer and my answer was surge deathblade. now im a proud ilv580 surge main soon to be 600 if i don't loose all my 50/50s 😭

Getting this game as it is today is like getting wow like 5 years into the game. It’s so polished and so much has been done since it came out years ago over seas. What a joy.
I watched the whole thing I will only retain about 10% of this haha I look forward to coming back and rewatching a few times this video is packed with useful info. I wish u explained the dismantling a bit more as Im a complete noob and I still dont understand what items need to be dimantled vs which ones have buffs you want to transfer off.

One of the best detailed video! But honestly when I reached lvl 50 I realised I dont have time/mood for grinding so many things, havent even logged in in the past 3 weeks lol. If this game would have released 5-10 years ago, I would grind the hell out of it, now im too 'old' it seems :D
This is one of the best tips and tricks videos I've ever seen, for any game. I've watched a few for lost ark already and I still learned at least a few things from this video. Also, the production and information delivery was perfect, audio was crystal clear and Codiak went through the script without any stumbling or "ummm's". (there had to have been a script, it was too perfect) I'm gonna check out your other stuff just because the experience from this video was ideal for me, and honestly I could just listen to any information presented this well.
I myself I'm lost between 3 classes. Martial Artist, Berserker, and Paladin. Paladin skills for me, are the coolest I have seen in the game, so far. But Madness Berserker seem so nice, although I don't have Madness iet, so can't know. I played Paladin a bit in beta, now I'm trying Berserker. But even if I lose some time, I plan to try all 3, and decide on one.
i did this test so nobody else has too. i used 19 green Paladin Blessed Aura books on my Striker then went on the pally and ofc not able to use the skill, so then i went to the market and bought 1 green book of the skill used it and now im able to use the skill on my pally and am up to the blue books. :) so i would say dont worry about just using books
im 14h into the game and alot of stuff u covered i did not know about....thanks for this video it helped alot...it throws so much at you...im lvl 32 and its still throwing new machanics my way...my brain is exploading...

I advise every new player to no fall into this trap that you see most people doing that is rushing to endgame , the whole game is worth exploring on your own pace People that rush will only be ahead 1 or 2 weeks that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things , but do as you like if u like to rush by all means do it bud just telling something I've seen many players saying will do cus see many streamers doing it :/ Anyway see y around boys and grils have a great journey :)
So I have a question: Did Lost Ark at some point have the players using the 'base' class before picking a specialization later? It really feels strange to suddenly get that specialization right out the gate. Feels like it was a change made post-launch due to smoothing out mechanics or streamlining things.
Yes it did. Each class started in a different region iirc. I remember playing my Artillerist on the RU server and going through a Steampunk-wasteland zone. Annika I believe.

I couldn't quite pin it down but I had this strange feeling of disconnection and that things went oddly quick despite what the creation process had led me to believe, lol.
I avoided these type of videos because I didn’t want ‘spoilers’. But now that I’ve actually played the game, I realise it’s just another ‘Tera’ type, no deep plot in sight. 😂 So, let’s get to it! I’ll be rewatching this video a few times. 😋
Thank you for this video I'm glad I watched it before I played more than the 4 hours I have. It taught me the game is way to complicated and time consuming to bother playing any further.
I would like to point out the female gunner. It is loaded with dodges, flips, slides, and jumps. There is the dodge on space, than 2 skill dodges, and an attack that jumps you backward (all before lvl 20) The female gunner is high mobility, high dmg, high area, and moderate tank, can even spec into some debuffing targets for the team.
@@leonstanable it’s actually rated as one of the best classes in the game. High damage and high mobility for both PvE and PvP. So I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I like how the first thing he lists is to play what feels good. Too many people chase trends and metas and FOTM classes ever since paladin became the god class all the way back in Burning Crusade WoW. Crazy how nothing changes, glad that the perspective is finally shifting.

important question regarding this bunch of consumable items you're supposed to only use when you are absolutely sure you want to use them that way: If i create a casual character to try the game out, ar there any items i may waste which could greatly boost my accout/roster as a whole? Are there things you can do with your first casual character that will have a negative impact on other "serious" characters or my entire roster?
Played gunner and I am level 30. I picked this character because it was the hardest to play character and I love it. Personally it's about the story for me. Game is great.

This is such a high quality video. Good shit man. Picked this game up yesterday after seeing the Twitch.tv hype and I needed a vid like this to explain all the overwhelming things thrown at me.
Did not know about the counter , honestly I never changed armor from the char profile... about a day after 50 I realized I had 2 earring and 2 ring slots. The entire playthrough I had 1 up to date ring and earring and the other was the first one I got at the start 🙁. Never noticed because I felt like a God while leveling.
Have you done a video about the Islands ?? Would like to know more about that. You only said a few things fast.. Also Pets, do you have to PAY just to use the Pet Inventory ?? Pay every month or year ? Thanks !!
Leveled up a berserker to lvl 20 so far and the game is pretty fun so far. However, there are way too many systems to juggle. I'm pretty sure I will be able to grasp most of it within a week but it's like, do I really want to? Seems like it's just a bunch of chores to do once you get to the end-game. I can't really complain too much because it's free but I'm sure there will be some sort of wall to climb once you are at the end like most free to play games.
Not having gamed in years, I was pulled into the game simply because of the system requirements! There is soooo much here to discover and I am really enjoying it. I need to know what happened to my cards in my inventory! I clicked on them and they disappeared. I cannot see them in any screen. UPDATE: apparently, right clicking a card puts it in the WORKSHOP. The WORKSHOP is accessed in the STRONGHOLD after you reach a certain level, which I have not. So there, now the guide is complete? FYI

Combat is simply amazing, the writing and Microtransactions are meh. So far its fun though, especially if you like Diablo style combat.

Super helpful video. As a side note, Roster is not account wide. Not region wide even. Roster is only server wide. A lot of people lost their founder stuff not realizing that stuff is ONLY bound to the server you claim it on (pets, mounts, currencies, etc.)

Good reason to take it slow, explore lateral, and maybe stockpile resources with a few alts. Leave two or 3 spots open for the new classes of course and save some gold for knowledge xfer. Then turn main into alt.
@@pokermitten9795 doesn’t seem worth it to use gold for knowledge transfer. You still have to go through the story regardless. The story is already pretty easy.

the first tip is so important, for me atleast, i wanted to be a full on wardancer kicking boxing style main because i'm a one trick windwalker monk main in WoW but after trying out other classes while getting my wardancer to 50 and ilv420 i realized i really only had the most fun playing the glass on a PvP basis so then i wsnted a new main which also has more skillcap compare to wardancer and my answer was surge deathblade. now im a proud ilv580 surge main soon to be 600 if i don't loose all my 50/50s 😭

I wish u explained the dismantling a bit more as Im a complete noob and I still dont understand what items need to be dimantled vs which ones have buffs you want to transfer off.

This is one of the best tips and tricks videos I've ever seen, for any game. I've watched a few for lost ark already and I still learned at least a few things from this video.
Also, the production and information delivery was perfect, audio was crystal clear and Codiak went through the script without any stumbling or "ummm's". (there had to have been a script, it was too perfect)
I'm gonna check out your other stuff just because the experience from this video was ideal for me, and honestly I could just listen to any information presented this well.
I myself I'm lost between 3 classes.
Martial Artist, Berserker, and Paladin.
Paladin skills for me, are the coolest I have seen in the game, so far.
But Madness Berserker seem so nice, although I don't have Madness iet, so can't know.
I played Paladin a bit in beta, now I'm trying Berserker.
But even if I lose some time, I plan to try all 3, and decide on one.
i did this test so nobody else has too. i used 19 green Paladin Blessed Aura books on my Striker then went on the pally and ofc not able to use the skill, so then i went to the market and bought 1 green book of the skill used it and now im able to use the skill on my pally and am up to the blue books. :) so i would say dont worry about just using books

I advise every new player to no fall into this trap that you see most people doing that is rushing to endgame , the whole game is worth exploring on your own pace
People that rush will only be ahead 1 or 2 weeks that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things , but do as you like if u like to rush by all means do it bud just telling something I've seen many players saying will do cus see many streamers doing it :/

So I have a question: Did Lost Ark at some point have the players using the 'base' class before picking a specialization later? It really feels strange to suddenly get that specialization right out the gate. Feels like it was a change made post-launch due to smoothing out mechanics or streamlining things.
Yes it did. Each class started in a different region iirc. I remember playing my Artillerist on the RU server and going through a Steampunk-wasteland zone. Annika I believe.
Yeah, it feels like a large chunk of the early game was skipped.

That explains why it felt incredibly strange going from class selection into the tutorial, lol. I couldn't quite pin it down but I had this strange feeling of disconnection and that things went oddly quick despite what the creation process had led me to believe, lol.
I avoided these type of videos because I didn’t want ‘spoilers’. But now that I’ve actually played the game, I realise it’s just another ‘Tera’ type, no deep plot in sight. 😂 So, let’s get to it! I’ll be rewatching this video a few times. 😋

I would like to point out the female gunner. It is loaded with dodges, flips, slides, and jumps. There is the dodge on space, than 2 skill dodges, and an attack that jumps you backward (all before lvl 20) The female gunner is high mobility, high dmg, high area, and moderate tank, can even spec into some debuffing targets for the team.
it's not even one of the best endgame classes so im guessing you're winging it based on your first class

I like how the first thing he lists is to play what feels good. Too many people chase trends and metas and FOTM classes ever since paladin became the god class all the way back in Burning Crusade WoW. Crazy how nothing changes, glad that the perspective is finally shifting.

important question regarding this bunch of consumable items you're supposed to only use when you are absolutely sure you want to use them that way:
If i create a casual character to try the game out, ar there any items i may waste which could greatly boost my accout/roster as a whole? Are there things you can do with your first casual character that will have a negative impact on other "serious" characters or my entire roster?
Played gunner and I am level 30. I picked this character because it was the hardest to play character and I love it. Personally it's about the story for me. Game is great.

There are also ferries from continent to continent that you can take. Significantly faster than sailing.
Did not know about the counter , honestly I never changed armor from the char profile... about a day after 50 I realized I had 2 earring and 2 ring slots. The entire playthrough I had 1 up to date ring and earring and the other was the first one I got at the start 🙁. Never noticed because I felt like a God while leveling.

Leveled up a berserker to lvl 20 so far and the game is pretty fun so far. However, there are way too many systems to juggle. I'm pretty sure I will be able to grasp most of it within a week but it's like, do I really want to? Seems like it's just a bunch of chores to do once you get to the end-game. I can't really complain too much because it's free but I'm sure there will be some sort of wall to climb once you are at the end like most free to play games.

Not having gamed in years, I was pulled into the game simply because of the system requirements! There is soooo much here to discover and I am really enjoying it. I need to know what happened to my cards in my inventory! I clicked on them and they disappeared. I cannot see them in any screen.
UPDATE: apparently, right clicking a card puts it in the WORKSHOP. The WORKSHOP is accessed in the STRONGHOLD after you reach a certain level, which I have not. So there, now the guide is complete? FYI
