    What do you think this happened? Ideas to prevent it. I have a '21 Polaris Pro XP, same exact thing just happened. Thanks to your video I figured it out.

    • @theeddies
      @theeddies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they either should have a different torque setting and/or should have red Loctite on the bolts at the factory. We put loctite on and the problem did not happen again. As to why they are prone to shake loose, your guess is as good as mine.
      I am surprised they are still having this problem, not very impressed with Polaris QC.
      Thanks,
      Eddie

    Its a variable reluctance sensor - essentially a coil wrapped around a magnet , so when the knobs get close , the magnetic field changes and generates a signal.

    • @theeddies
      @theeddies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, so our thought was since it was measuring crankshaft speed from those knobs, if it got a signal from a stray piece of broken screw passing under it, the computer would sense an error and kill the ignition. That is our working hypothesis for why it just cut out like the key was turned off. Good to hear from you, Bill.

      @@theeddies lol you need some WD40. WD40 should just make a beer and get it over with. Their slogan could be 'There's no way in hell' (as in "There's no way in hell that's ever coming loose!") Just went through this today with a 2020 sportsman 450HO. All three bolts backed out and sheared off. The quad has 502 miles on it. Found one bolt head in the case, the other two are nowhere to be found. Probably in the oil pan somewhere. FUCK POLARIS!!! Cheap Basterds can't afford locktite on three little bolts! It's my son's quad. I'll stick with my Honda's!!
