    This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.

I have had to order two other machines because i did not follow the directions EXACTLY as you so simply showed in your video. One point i would like to add to the very descriptive video is NEVER allow the machine to run empty. It is a design flaw that will end your machine!

    Great video. Keurig provides little help how to descale properly. Most people are not entering descale mode and just power on the unit and run through the liquid mix.
    This does not allow completion. Further, risk of overheating is high if you use all 78 ounces.

    I did your procedure and it works great. Mine still works with the descale warning on (it doesn't bother me ). Now every 2 months I fill the reservoir tank 50/50 vinegar and water(old school method) and run it till it is almost empty. Then pour out left over solution, rinse out tank and fill with fresh water and run it through till almost empty again. Fill tank again and you're all good to go. This way I keep the scale out without all the risks of failure doing it the keurig way. I have had a permanent descale warning for 9 months now but this way will work until the heating element fails. My coffee always comes out great this way and I have no filter and well water to boot. I had to do the "take apart and paperclip reset thing" once on this one a long time ago and she is still going strong. Keurig sent me a replacement that is in storage when this one finally gives in. My way takes a little more time but it is as safe as brewing 10 cups of coffee in a row at your own pace with no worries.

    Coffee grounds problem, I always use the San Francisco Bay coffee I believe it’s the Rogers coffee Company pretty common K cups I know Costco sells it. After several days of research after getting the case supreme plus I found that they’re plastic waterproofing layer in the top of the K cup would stretch when you close the coffee maker but would not puncture in which case you get water and grounds all over the place. I called San Francisco Bay they were aware of the problem and they’re trying to correct it and even sent me a another case of coffee for my problems. In the meantime I would push the coffee maker closed I would open it take a golf tee and make sure that the holes were all punctured it was usually just one or two of the front ones but it works. This is exactly what I needed. I’ve descaled with solution, but the store has been out for months when I’ve tried to buy some. I live in a rural town with only really 1 store. I’ve been needing a descale for a week and knew vinegar could be used but nowhere had really a good explanation on how much, and if you should do extra runs to get the taste/smell etc. So thank you for this vid, I’m sure I’ll revisit it again each time I need to descale lol.

    Watched this video after following your video on how to fix the K Supreme when it won't power on. Which worked well I might add, thanks.
    Old dad I must say that I'm still very much on the fence on whether I'll be doing the descale on my machine after my experience last time. The descale like many other people's experience is what caused mine to abruptly shut off and not power back on. Even though your hack was an easy fix I just haven't made up my mind if I want to take mine apart & push that button with a paper clip at every descale... It's fair to say my very first descale experience was not a good one. I do thank you very much for your informative videos, I've also watched your tutorial on cleaning the needles.
    I know, I know long comment but I want to ask you if you have any idea why Keurig tells owners to do this descale method when they would have to know that so many machines have this problem with the thermostat and getting too hot? Rendering it useless to those who have not seen your vid, or others. It doesn't make sense to me as there is no telling how many free machines Keurig has Shipped to customers like myself who fortunately still had a Keurig that was under a one year warranty. (I asked this question in your vid where you show how to fix a Keurig that will not power on. So if you already answered you can ignore this question if you wish, or answer if you think it may assist other users)

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching!! I think your machine will stop working if you leave the descale light on for too long, but I don't know that for sure. I am not sure what there thinking is about turning the light on after 250 brews no matter what. I did see a news article and they seem to make a lot of money selling K cups than coffee makers but you would think they would want a coffee maker that is going to last. I bet we see a whole new design this year, that fixes this problem, I can only imagine how many calls they get about the machine not working. Good conversation and I love the long comments it tells me how passionate people are about coffee and coffee makers. Its a fun community to be a part of, even if I have only been apart of it for about 4 years.

    This time, my descale went off after I ran the vinegar water through and before I put the plain water through the machine. Since descaling turned off, I had to flush out the plain water just like I was making 12 oz cups of coffee over and over. What happened? I’ve followed your directions every time I’ve descaled. It hasn’t done this before. Also, in the days before descaling the machine, the hot water coming out to make tea was just dragging along. If I pushed the 12 oz button, I would get 10oz of hot water. If I pushed 8 oz, I would get 5 or 6 oz of water. In a few minutes, I’m going to go through your video of cleaning the basket and needles. Thanks for your valuable help.

    It’s time to descale my K Supreme. I use a half vinegar/half water solution, but I fill the chamber up. Then, I fill it up with fresh water for the rinse. I’ve always done it this way, and I’ve never used the descaling solution. The vinegar works just fine. In the past, I used straight vinegar until I found out a half n half solution will do the trick.
