Keurig has changed the way you descale your coffee maker. You have to put the machine in descale mode and follow it all the way through to get the descale light to go out.
Step by step instructions are below. You have to follow them all the way through.
    1. Put the descale solution in the tank.
    2. Leave the machine plugged in, then turn the power button off. Press and hold the 8oz and 12oz button for 3 seconds till the big K brew button starts flashing. This puts it into DESCALE MODE.
    3. The K button is the only light on. The power button does not light up. Press the K button and it will run 12 oz through the machine. Keep pressing the K button till the add water light comes on. 4. Put water in the reservoir and the add water light will go out and the K button will start flashing again.
    5. Press the K button to start the machine again and this time it will be rinsing the machine at 12oz each time you press the button. Keep pressing the K button till the add water light comes on again. Fill with water again it will come out of descale mode. Turn it on and the descale light should be out. Now you are ready to use it again.
Let me know how it goes. YOU GOT THIS!!!!

I used your video several weeks ago for the first time and, fortunately had saved your video for "the next time". I love and appreciate the detail you give with each step (explaining, "I haven't touched the K- button or anything, getting toward the end, still in dealing mode, etc") as if I needed to hear EVERYTHING you say!!
    Thank you so much!

I have a question- we have a separate UV purifier for our water, it has absolutely NOTHING in it. Better than distilled. So- theoretically, our Keurig should never need descaling. Can I just put it in "descale mode" & continue to use it normally to get rid of the descale light? Will that work? Or does lifting the handle to insert/remove pods screw up the process?

Hi Just a Dad, I just had to tell you my descale light has been on for close to 3 years. I have never found a video that explained it the way you did and told us how to get into the descale mode and I just wanna thank you so much. I finally got my D scale light to go off and everything is lovely.
Thanks so much. I have subscribed and looking forward to more videos.

Thank you for being so clear in your directions! You give simple, step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow.
HOW OFTEN have each of us fumbled in frustration trying to do something with directions that were unclear, in a different language, or lacked ALL the information?!
Those writing or giving instructions, knowingly or unaware, often assume students already possess a certain level of knowledge. They don't consider not everyone has the same starting point in learning
Your CLEAR and DIRECT directions are a breath of fresh air! If you're not an instructor already, you might consider becoming one. You are naturally gifted as a *teacher!

This is for Just a Dad. My "descale" light did come on my Keurig just like yours. I was at Walmart and purchased a bottle of descale AND white vinegar [will save me $$]. I followed your directions to the letter, not realizing I had to press the 8 and 12 buttons together to start the process. I pressed the "K", ran the rest of your instructions. At the last, when the "add water" light came on, and all the lights shut off. I will admit I stared at it for a second and shouted "IT WORKED!!!" The vinegar smell was gone when I poured everything out, rinsed it once and there was no smell. I celebrated by making myself a cup of bulletproof coffee with absolutely no problem. Thank you, thank you for your excellent video, instructions and ease of understanding! 🥰☕☕☕

What a great video. I refer to it each time I descale my Keurig. this is the 1st Keurig that I have used, where even with bottled water, the descale light comes on every 30 days.. On previous machines that I have had, with bottled water the descale light NEVER came on. I think Keurig has these newer machines set to clean more often- for no reason, other tan to spend money on their cleaning solutions. So far the old standby vinegar works fine for me.., Again great video and enjoy your cuppa ;)

This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.

Where can I find the video on the pins? I looked and couldn't find it. My Keurig isn't working well and I think its the puncture needles. When I try to make strong brew it won't work and when I use k pods it takes like 2-3 times ro get a decent cup of coffee.

I admit I never read the manual regarding descaling my unit but once I landed in descale mode, it annoyed me. I thought maybe descaling was a simple process of just brewing the cleaning mix solution along with some rinse cycles and the light would go off. So I tried it. One good rule of thumb I learned cleaning Keurig's with vinegar is to run a cup of hot water at the end and add a splash of half and half to test if vinegar is completely out of the system. If you still have vinegar in your system, it will immediately curdle and ball up like small curds of cottage cheese... if it just clouds the water evenly, you're clean and ready to go again. I lost a couple k-cups learning this the hard way. Cannot recommend tasting it with the curds and vinegar... really bad taste!

This is a great and very helpful video. I will say that I will never purchase another Keurig, however. I purchased the K Supreme, and it stopped working. Keurig sent me another, and after a couple months, it literally burned out. I mean, it smelled like wires were burning. I told Keurig that this appears to be an issue with this model and requested the newer version, but they insisted on sending me another K Supreme (no longer made). Surprise, Surprise... It lasted about 4 months. I'm done with this brand.

The Descale light came on a week or so ago and we have been trying to ignore it because we were certain that the end result would be another call to Keurig or (and this was more likely, purchasing another brand of coffee pot). We watched your video, took notes let continue to run over and over as we followed your instructions and the end result is.....we get to keep this coffee pot and continue to enjoy our morning coffees.
