Your videos would be a LOT better if you could cut out all the extraneous commentary and just get right to demonstrating what to do. This video should be maybe 2 minutes long.
I used this demonstration again today to descale my Keurig, it is the best and gives enough information to answer all possibilities before and during cleaning/descaling, but this time I didn't wait until the descaling light came on, good bit of info! I like step by step instruction, that way I have enough time to pause the video between steps. Thx Again!

Yesterday I cleaned my Keurig out with vinegar . Went through all of the steps but that Descale light just would not go off . I unplugged the unit for 3 minutes, but still nothing . I decided to watch your video again to see what I was doing wrong . Found out that I was Powering it up before I re-watched . Tonight I redid everything step by step with you in your video and achieved that dreaded descale light going out . What a great feeling to see that lol

Thanks so much, cleaning my machine for the first time today :) One note-if anyone has pet birds-vinegar heated up is highly toxic to them (the fumes). It can kill birds very quickly. I bring my coffee pot outside to do any cleaning with vinegar.

I wish Keurig add a descale symbol right on the 8 and 12 oz. buttons. BYW, you video instructions works well with the K-Supreme Plus. In fact, your video is better than the manufacture descale video, because all their video only show words and music, and often people has to rewind and to read it the instructions.

OMG ........... my Keurig Slim hasn't been descaled in 3 years. The last time I started a descale cycle, hubby decided he wanted a cup of coffee. He removed the plastic container blocking the machine and brewed a cup. Yep, it was vinegar. Since then I haven't been able to get it back into descale mode with the flashing K button. NOW I know exactly how to do it and it WORKED. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I add a twist to your cleaning. I added 3 cups of vinegar and descaled it. As the vinegar came to an end, I added a cup of water, and continued to run it. When done, I cleaned the reservoir, added fresh water, and continue to run. The light went out. Then did a regular run to make sure “no descale” light was on. Took 30-40 mins. Your video is great. Thank you.

My Keurig lost it's life this morning and I thought it was a goner. On the off chance that the same thing has happened to other people I simply typed "descale light Keurig" and your videos came up sand literally saved my Keurig. Thanks so much for a great little walkthrough video! I always have to circle back here when it's time to run the descale on my Keurig. For anyone reading the comments, I'd like to mention you should probably check out Just A Dad Videos' video on cleaning the needle that pierces the k-cup, too; I always have to make sure the needle is really thoroughly cleaned, because the ground coffee can impact into the needle very tightly and prevent not just brewing, but also the descaling mode from working as it should, and then you're left thinking something is /very/ wrong with your machine when it's a quick fix, instead.
Just a quick thank you for the tips and tutorial - I got my KSLIM as a gift and after a few months I noticed it was chuffing or gurgling and would often need to be started twice, or sometimes shut off after only a few drops in the cup - I followed your advice to the letter and am pleased to report that I feel like I have a brand new coffee maker all over again. Kudos!

Thanks! I wasted a whole bottle of cleaning solution since there was no “Descale Mode” instructions on the bottle. Finally I said,”Forget it. I’m not buying anymore of that!” Then I found my way to your video. Thanks so much for explaining there is a Descaling Mode that needs to be accessed. That was the one step I missed, making me wonder why the Descale light wouldn’t quit flashing no matter what I did. Thanks again!❤
Thanks so much! My son tried to clean it with the cleaning solution, I don't think that he looked for instructions before the first time. So he bought some more solution at $12 again, I think he used your video? Well, the add more water light wouldn't come on, it started smoking, he added more water, the descale light never turned off. So, using your video to clean my Keurig k-slim, I used vinegar and water, same thing happened to me, the refill water light did not turn on and the descale light would not turn off. So while still running rinses, I added more water to reservoir, kept letting it run 12 cups, the add water light finally came on, but the descale stayed on...you said to unplug for 3 minutes, then plug back in, then I powered it back on and the light was off! 3rd time's the charm! Thank you for your very detailed videos! It was very easy to follow!
Wow, what a story. I am glad it worked out in the end but I wish your machine had acted better. Don't be afraid to contact Keurig if you machine does not act right. from what other viewers tell me they will stand behind their product.
Thank you for sharing. The "Add more water" light never came on for me, but the Descale light was turned off after unplugging the brewer and letting it sit for a bit. Next time I descale I will use 12 oz cups on the final rinse.

This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

This was great! I tried descaling twice before with the Keurig solution but didn’t know about the descale mode. Each time the descale light stayed on. After this video I was able to descale with the vinegar with success!!! Thanks!!!
I watched your video on how to descale my Keurig with the Keurig solution several months ago and it was extremely helpful. I decided to try to descale w/vinegar - as it is much cheaper and I have 2 teenagers using the Keurig to make iced everything this summer 😅. It worked! I had run a bottle of the Keurig solution through the machine, following the instructions on the bottle (which did not mention how to enter the descaling mode) and when I was done, the “descale” light was still on. I then found your video and followed the instructions using white vinegar, and voila, it worked! The descale light is off!

This was a lot better than when I called the support number. I get it they have to be pleasant but they sound like robots and did not get me where I needed to be. This video allowed me to keep rather than throw the Keurig in the garbage.
My descale mode has been on FOREVER, even after using the Keurig solution it didn't turn up and we learned to live with it until it got unbearable. One round of your method with vinegar worked like a charm. Thank you!

You have to put the machine in descale mode and follow it all the way through to get the descale light to go out. step by step instructions see below. You have to follow them all the way through. I hope this helps. put the descale solution in the tank. You have to put the machine in descale mode. First leave the machine plugged in, then turn the power button off. Press and hold the 8oz and 12oz button for 3 seconds till the big k brew button starts flashing. This puts it into descale mode. The only thing you will see is the big k button light on. the power button does not light up. press the k button and it will run 12 oz through the machine. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on. don't touch anything just put fresh water in the reservoir and the add water light will go out and the big k button will start flashing again. press the big k button to start the machine again this time it will be rinsing the machine at 12oz each time you press the button. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on again. Once you fill it up with water again it will come out of descale mode and now you are ready to use it again. turn it on and the descale light should be out. Let me know how it goes. YOU GOT THIS!!!!
It overheated and just went dead. No power.... I watched the video about the re set thermal switch and took it apart so i could use a paper clip to re set the switch. I did this and it came back on.... But guess what? The descale light is still on!!!

I didn’t realize how much gunk builds up and I see once every 3 months really isn’t enough if you don’t rinse after making a cup. Punching the holes the proper way really make. Also using the strong button really helps. Your video really made me realize how crappy my coffee was getting. It made a great difference, I recommend you watch it a couple times. So glad I found your channel! Just what I needed. I loved all of the info, since I'm embarrassed to say never even looked at the manual past the set up. Descale light started flashing this morning, purchased in May. Great video!
Clear and thorough explanation. Followed step by step directions and at the Press the K, nothing happened, seemed stuck and then shut off after about 10 minutes. Unplugged for a full 3 minutes, plugged in again, and still nothing. Now what to do , short of I'm SOL. HELP!!!
The Keurig K Supreme Models have a history of this problem. The unit can overheat and trip the thermostat on the inside of the machine. I made a video on how to open up your Keurig and reset the thermostat with a paperclip. But it requires you to open it up. This is a link to the video th-cam.com/video/IdE_4NIQEro/w-d-xo.html If this does not fix the problem or you are not able to open it up, I would call Keurig 866-901-2739, They are aware of this problem and should replace you unit free of charge. Lot of other viewers have had this same problem during a descale the machine has to run a lot of cycles to run the solution through the machine then the rinse cycles. It is a good idea in the future to let the machine sit for 30 min before you start the rinse cycle, but you have to make sure the machine stays in descale mode or it will not turn you light out at the end of the rinse. Also some K Supreme the low water light does not come on and you might run the machine dry which can also cause the thermostat to trip. In the case of the low water light not coming on you have to stop the process and start all over, but this time you can just use water on both the first part and rinse cycle. The machine has to see the low water light come on for the logic in the descale mode to complete and turn the light off.

I ran 5 different cleaning cycles on my Kuerik Slim and the descale light would not turn off. About to take unit back for refund/swap but decided to check out TH-cam videos and found yours. Found that I was doing the de-scaling steps all wrong. Watching your video, I was able to get the de-scaling light to turn off . Thank you

Thanks so much! My son tried to clean it with the cleaning solution, I don't think that he looked for instructions before the first time. So he bought some more solution at $12 again, I think he used your video? Well, the add more water light wouldn't come on, it started smoking, he added more water, the descale light never turned off. So, using your video to clean my Keurig k-slim, I used vinegar and water, same thing happened to me, the refill water light did not turn on and the descale light would not turn off. So while still running rinses, I added more water to reservoir, kept letting it run 12 cups, the add water light finally came on, but the descale stayed on...you said to unplug for 3 minutes, then plug back in, then I powered it back on and the light was off! 3rd time's the charm! Thank you for your very detailed videos! It was very easy to follow!
Wow, what a story. I am glad it worked out in the end but I wish your machine had acted better. Don't be afraid to contact Keurig if you machine does not act right. from what other viewers tell me they will stand behind their product.

Thank you for sharing. The "Add more water" light never came on for me, but the Descale light was turned off after unplugging the brewer and letting it sit for a bit. Next time I descale I will use 12 oz cups on the final rinse.

We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

I watched your video on how to descale my Keurig with the Keurig solution several months ago and it was extremely helpful. I decided to try to descale w/vinegar - as it is much cheaper and I have 2 teenagers using the Keurig to make iced everything this summer 😅. I pulled up TH-cam videos and yours is the one I landed - yay!! So informative and easy to follow, much better than the instructions on the Keurig site. Thank you for the information on both videos!
It worked! I had run a bottle of the Keurig solution through the machine, following the instructions on the bottle (which did not mention how to enter the descaling mode) and when I was done, the “descale” light was still on. I then found your video and followed the instructions using white vinegar, and voila, it worked! The descale light is off!

This was a lot better than when I called the support number. I get it they have to be pleasant but they sound like robots and did not get me where I needed to be. This video allowed me to keep rather than throw the Keurig in the garbage.

@@jeffedmundson2044 Keurig has changed the way you descale your coffee maker. You have to put the machine in descale mode and follow it all the way through to get the descale light to go out.
step by step instructions see below. You have to follow them all the way through.
I hope this helps. put the descale solution in the tank. You have to put the machine in descale mode. First leave the machine plugged in, then turn the power button off. Press and hold the 8oz and 12oz button for 3 seconds till the big k brew button starts flashing. This puts it into descale mode. The only thing you will see is the big k button light on. the power button does not light up. press the k button and it will run 12 oz through the machine. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on. don't touch anything just put fresh water in the reservoir and the add water light will go out and the big k button will start flashing again. press the big k button to start the machine again this time it will be rinsing the machine at 12oz each time you press the button. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on again. Once you fill it up with water again it will come out of descale mode and now you are ready to use it again. turn it on and the descale light should be out. Let me know how it goes. YOU GOT THIS!!!!
It overheated and just went dead. No power....
I watched the video about the re set thermal switch and took it apart so i could use a paper clip to re set the switch.
I did this and it came back on....
But guess what? The descale light is still on!!!

I didn’t realize how much gunk builds up and I see once every 3 months really isn’t enough if you don’t rinse after making a cup. Punching the holes the proper way really make. Also using the strong button really helps. Your video really made me realize how crappy my coffee was getting. It made a great difference, I recommend you watch it a couple times. Clear and thorough explanation. Followed step by step directions and at the Press the K, nothing happened, seemed stuck and then shut off after about 10 minutes. Unplugged for a full 3 minutes, plugged in again, and still nothing. Now what to do , short of I'm SOL. HELP!!!
The Keurig K Supreme Models have a history of this problem. The unit can overheat and trip the thermostat on the inside of the machine. I made a video on how to open up your Keurig and reset the thermostat with a paperclip. But it requires you to open it up. This is a link to the video th-cam.com/video/IdE_4NIQEro/w-d-xo.html If this does not fix the problem or you are not able to open it up, I would call Keurig 866-901-2739, They are aware of this problem and should replace you unit free of charge. Lot of other viewers have had this same problem during a descale the machine has to run a lot of cycles to run the solution through the machine then the rinse cycles. It is a good idea in the future to let the machine sit for 30 min before you start the rinse cycle, but you have to make sure the machine stays in descale mode or it will not turn you light out at the end of the rinse. Also some K Supreme the low water light does not come on and you might run the machine dry which can also cause the thermostat to trip. In the case of the low water light not coming on you have to stop the process and start all over, but this time you can just use water on both the first part and rinse cycle. The machine has to see the low water light come on for the logic in the descale mode to complete and turn the light off.

I ran 5 different cleaning cycles on my Kuerik Slim and the descale light would not turn off. About to take unit back for refund/swap but decided to check out TH-cam videos and found yours. Found that I was doing the de-scaling steps all wrong. Watching your video, I was able to get the de-scaling light to turn off . Thank you
