      If you are a singer, did steam work for you,
      to eliminate phlegm before singing?
      Are you still steaming before singing, still
      working well?

    Thanks for all your amazing videos! I'm a professional singer and i usually steam 2X a day. I'm sick and have to sing tonight. Is there a limit on how many times one can steam?

    Hi Katarina! I have the same MABIS Steam Inhaler you have. Can you use the .9% saline solution in this? Or is the saline solution only for a nebulizer? Thank you!

    • @healthyvoicetips

      That happens sometimes while your body is getting used to a new sensation (because we usually don't inhale steam).

    I’m 85 years old and I perform three hours a day singing. I steam my voice 2-3 hours before sending for about 10 minutes. Should I steam my voice sooner? Like an hour before.

      As a singer, i personally steam around 20 minutes before singing, followed by a warm up. Therefore your voice is completely warmed up and ready to sing. Hope this helps

      Hi Richard, so happy to hear your story. I should recommend you to listen to your body in order to find what's best for you, each person is different.

    Very interesting n useful info provided. Thank you madam. I have a problem of keeping mouth little open while sleeping. That causes drying of vocal folds n results in hoarse voice. Steam inhalation will certainly help me. Please suggest other remedies if any

      Also, make sure that the room you sleep in had good humidity levels (above 40%). I have a humidifier next to my bed.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is a fairly new research even though steaming has been used for a very long time for various reasons.

    Use nebulizers! Don't use hot steam it can hurt your vocal cords.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I am wondering if you have any research based proof for this claim. I just collected a good body of evidence that steam inhalation has benefits for your voice. And I personally steam every day and my vocal folds work just fine.

    • @CeeJay254Art
      @CeeJay254Art 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nebulizers exist for medical reasons not vocal maintenance since the fine particles travel all the way to the lungs. Long term use of that for vocal maintenance is not good. So steaming vocals is better
