  • Which is a better Center Parcs UK site - Longleat Forest or Sherwood Forest?
    Having visited Sherwood Forest in October 2022, and enjoying a few stays at Longleat recently, we thought it might be helpful to share our thoughts and opinions on which location does it better...
    In this sit down we consider different criteria like the parc layout, the swimming and rapids, the wildlife, and loads more as we aim to decide.
    Thanks for watching!!

    Longleat is my favourite but we don't go there due to family and distance so sherwood is our 2nd. I will say that the village square at Longleat is comparable to the country club area with the nature area at sherwood. The village square at sherwood is comparable to the plaza. I agree about using that space for expensive cabanas it could have been made lovely for everyone.

    Hey, Longleat also has the lazy river I believe whereas Sherwood doesn’t. We have a 5 year old and a two year old and the rapids in Sherwood especially the second half is quite abrupt so my 5 year old struggled a bit. Need to be a confident swimmer in my opinion to go to the Sherwood rapids.

      Yes that's correct, no lazy river at Sherwood sadly

      I don't know if there is a right or wrong, but at least you might have an idea what to expect at each location. Thanks for watching 🙏😊

    Thanks for this video, Rob & Dave. Sherwood is second nearest to us so was thinking of trying it, until Dave said there's no 🦌😊. Thanks also for mentioning mobility issues, important for us.

    We are hoping to try longleat next time. I love these videos. When you are back in the summer, do the electric boats! Also we want to do the land train.

      Ahhhh thanks! We have the electric boats booked for our trip to Longleat in the summer, I'm looking forward to it, a bit less hard work compared to the blooming pedalos 🤣🤣🤣

      I think probably Elveden is the best for wildlife simply because of the muntjac deer and being able to feed them by hand 🥰 That being said, red squirrels at Whinfell is a very close runner-up in my opinion.

      Yep Longleat are good fun, although the rapids at Sherwood are pretty forceful and stronger we thought. Both are good though 😃

    I absolutely love all centre Parcs, I have watched a few vlogs as you say it’s a matter of opinion. On anther channel they put Longleat last out of 5. Me personally Longleat is my favourite.

    Are they building any New C P in UK

    • @RobCadenElkins
      @RobCadenElkins  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ian, yep we actually went to Whinfell last month and I will be getting on with editing some vlogs from our stay to share soon ☺️
      As for new Center Parcs, I know that they have withdrawn from the planned location in Sussex but I guess they are looking for suitable locations elsewhere?

    i love Sherwood, nicer to walk around and better forest areas (new parcs have very little forest) - ALSO Sherwood has so many adapted old origianl buildings they have converted into villas - ie the old management block, the honeymoon villa, etc etc
    Makes those villas special and something different.
    The new mega villas at some parcs 6 bedrooms WHY not ensuite, WHY no Hot Tub - crazy they built these as a basic option... bet they end up adding a hot tub very soon, and adding £500 a booking.
    Been going since SW opened 1987- shame each new owners just see it as a short term cash cow - soon they will be charging for toilet paper, per sheet.

      Yes I agree that Sherwood has a lovely forest feel, although Longleat also has more nicely developed woodlands than some of the other locations, especially up in the Fir area.

    Which one would you choose for summer time?!😊

    • @RobCadenElkins
      @RobCadenElkins  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd probably say Longleat as it has the better outside pool area and I also like the lake area especially in the summer. That being said, if someone offered me a Sherwood trip I would definitely say yes 😀🤣

    To be fair with the hills in longleat, there is the land train if you really struggle

    • @RobCadenElkins
      @RobCadenElkins  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep the land train is good but it can be quite busy. I've heard plenty of people complain that they haven't been able to get on it when they planned to.

    • @Emma-mk8jv
      @Emma-mk8jv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Rob Caden-Elkins that's a pain. Once, when we went, and it was really busy, they put on extra transport and got on a mini bus. Very fancy lol

      Hey 👋 I'm sure you would have a great time at any of them, and depends on what things you rate most highly? I think for families with little ones that both Woburn and Elveden are more convenient and well laid out, but I'm sure plenty of people would recommend each of their favourite sites

    • @RobCadenElkins
      @RobCadenElkins  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Haha do you know how many people have picked up on this?! I think we will wait until after we have been back to Elveden in October so we can comment on the updated facilities (Aqua Sana, Pancake House) but yes there should be an ultimate comparison video before the end of the year 🤞😉
