In the Longleat House attic, Ceawlin finds his grandfather's memorabilia, including a watercolour by Adolf Hitler. Plus, in the safari park, a new animal house is being built for an ageing elephant. Meanwhile, Emma finds herself missing her friends and family from her old life in London and is keen to find a role for herself on the estate.

Imagine touring the safari, the manor, the gardens, and the rides/park, you'll be exhausted.
What better way to re-energize by eating fresh and home-grown, home-made food from the manor.

If you are given extra responsibility you should have monetary compensation. Sounds like Bob is not considerate at all of the staff or the villagers. "Servant" attitude= no compensation for extra effort. He calls being inconsiderate to the staff being "honest." Just hollow jargon.
That is the problem with the world today. People want more money and won´t do anything for love or pride in their work...... It si a all about a sense of entitlement. If they work as a team ti will thrive.... and they likely will get a pay rise....
He is a mechanic. He is supposed to fix anything his employer asks. He only deserves more pay if he works overtime
@@georgiabelle5176 Where did it say he was a trained "mechanic?" From what I could understand he had always worked only driving and train and keeping it running. They changed his "job" description without discussion or compensation. As soon as he left they had a disaster because his replacement drove on the tracks too fast. For his sake glad he was not there when that happen.
12:20 says he’s a mechanic. My husband is a mechanic. If he is pulled off his machine to go help on another, he does so without griping. The only complaint would be if he had to work overtime without compensation

Yeah, Bob and Daisy, a couple of micro-managers talking about teamwork. I'm sorry, but if someone has expertise in one area and not another, they need to wrap their minds around that. Some jobs are for some people.

It wasn't their fault the train derail. According to the results of the investigation, the train was going too fast.

Pushing Lee OUT was a very poor decision by Bob
My first thought was sabotage...😒 Never an incident and _this_ happens after Lee was made redundant? Hm 🤔 Rotten timing. But mistakes happen and the investigation found the issue.
Lee the train mechanic impressed me as very dedicated and passionate about his work, even if Daisy was dismissive towards him. Lee was an expert in operating the train. Of course Lee's team are disappointed.
But Bob and Daisy are a poisonous pair.
Bob because he is ARROGANT towards others (imagine Bob thinking he did not need to consult Ceawlin's father about a major change ? Bob is also a sanctimonious hypocrite who thinks his view is superior to the view of anyone else. He talks about honesty yet he comes across as manipulative and scheming rather than massively truthful.
Do hope that Ceawlin susses out what a negative influence Bob really is. I suspect that the Marquess of Bath will suss out Bob the hypocrite before Ceawlin does.
Daisy has been given power well beyond her ability. She assumes she knows everything when in truth her ignorance is a negative.
Lee was probably truthful to Daisy and as a result Daisy probably could not handle the truth. So no doubt she encourage Bob to dismiss Lee.
Bob and Daisy need to be let go.

Redundancy implies a NEED to reduce staff due to restructure or dwindling business. It would appear that neither of these were the case here and that Ian was SACKED which seems rightly to have unsettled his colleagues.

The commercial that played might have said it best “luxury is about living comfortably”. I honestly don’t think they live comfortably w/ all the guest at there door. It’s a strange way to enjoy the estate.
thomas obrien trust me they do. Growing up the daughter of a man who was quite wealthy... we had guests all the time and servants around the house. The house was like running a business. We had security men, chauffeurs, maids, secretaries, cleaners, handwashers, all d works. We hosted 3 major parties a year of 100 ppl atleast. I tell u growing up was fun. As our parents got older the guests lessed but dad still receives atleast 4 guests daily. It was more than comfortable. Only Americans think their life of solitude, desire for loneliness (where they think having ppl touch their dog is crossing boundaries) think having ppl around is uncomfortable. It will cut your depression by half.
I was a home nurse for a wealthy family, believe me with order and grace of the support staff/help comfort is very attainable, heck I even forgot about the other 12 or 15 help 🤷🏿♀️

We don’t see that family living lavishly. We see them living rather simply and investing towards their responsibility.
I think Bob and Daisy fit in well there. This management team are looking to create an atmosphere where everyone works together towards the same goal.

Daisy and Bob are really under a misguided sense of leadership. There is teamwork but when you have people who are specialized in certain areas stay in your lane. The young Lord and Lady need to start looking in to what is going on with the “team”.

To say someone is made redundant means they are not needed by way of being one person too many. So to then be short staffed means he was fired.

Crazy how they are able to spend one million on a larger elephant home for an elephant that's on its last legs. But are unable to keep on hardworking staff. Staff are clearly overwhelmed with workload which is not reflected in their salary package.
It looks like the mother got cosmetic surgery to look like her daughter. I hope Lee is on his feet, he's not wrong, more responsibilities mean more pay and or promotion.
The probability is that Emma just looks like her mother.

I feel sorry for Anne...elephants shouldn't be kept alone but I understand that she's old and introducing her to a whole new social group might be a bit much. But there must be another elderly female elephant in need of rescue out there whom she might get along with...

Dosnt accomplish much in a day.causing resentment among staff climded up the ladder on the back of others.They alienate the actual workers with management with Constance tittle tailing on them.Also they position themselves to a point where management think can't function without them.Feel for the train guy as I've been there! only way to get the Daisys out of your life you leave .It amazes me the bosses cant see the game they are playing! toxic people to been force to work under, not team players only when boss is in ear shot and lazy.Only their brains in over drive whose the next person on their target list.Horrible people! .

In this episode they say Anne the Elephant was abused by its circus owners but at 57:35 I see her fkn keepers using Bull-hooks on her in this day and age if they got to do that they should not even have her!
It's not the tool, it's how it is used. Her previous owners are shown beating her as hard as they can with the hooks but the Longleat staff are using them in the correct manner by gently touching her to guide her. It's the same as using a crop or a carrot stick with a horse, it's merely a tool used as an extension of your arm for safety purposes with an animal that may react poorly to physical touch.

Its very old money and this is really how they leave. I have a friend from old money and this is how they live. They have peacocks, 20 bedrooms, 5 living rooms etc, servant quarters and so on. But the estate is old and difficult for each generation. Her great grand father owned it. Her parents tried to maintain but i dont see my friend being able to manage it when it comes their turn cos its already deteriorating. It is like they r latching on to past glory. Abena Oduro it is usually hard for the new generation to handle inflation and the cost of doing things these days. Remember a lot of old money got their wealth from free labor/slaves and conquests and things which new generation do not have access to. Its like the Hilton... i dont see it being as wealthy in the future. There is new competition and the kids may not be able to take it forward because its just hard to keep up with a fast changing world.
